  1. or the Zagar that gets £3000 to ride per match plus points money plus air fare paid for
  2. If it`s true why no statement from Buxton management come on Jayne give us a clue
  3. It`s very wet in Buxton area still raining at present. I hope is going to fine up in the morning Buxton`s track soon dries out with a bit of wind. But if it still rain`s all night as BBC weather service states it may not go ahead. Got any forward views Jayne
  4. Will these be the past Aces that Little and Large wont to or are charging £10 to watch on Monday nights
  5. Dean as you know speedway engines should at the end of riding for a season all engines should be compleatly stripped down & washed. I used clean parafin then all parts dried greased and stored for the winter. Do todays riders and mechanics not do this. If they wish to ride in the winter then they should at least strip down wash & check all parts before summer season Our engines were stripped washed examined and put away the week after our last match,
  6. Rob is on 3 ave for Edinburgh dont know what that works out for National League
  7. 8.12 for one more team man .maybe just maybe an Aussie with a British pasport
  8. Weather in Buxton is glorious .Just looked at two local weather cameras one less than half a mile from track the other about one & half miles from the track and both showing great sunny weather. Should make it good for the meeting .don`t forget if your comming to bring a warm coat it can get chilly at High Edge in the autumn
  9. it was also used by Triumph on the Tiger Cub & Terrier engines in the late 50`s- early 60`s I am led to believe its called a De Sax engine / de-sax style
  10. No prob Heather sorry wont be able to have a coffee with you on Sept 13 at Andys training school. got to take the wife to Menorca for two weeks may catch you at Scunthorpe later in the year best regards fredbogge
  11. Sorry to tell you Heather12 but that postcode is the office postcode of Buxton Raceway which is in Whaley Bridge some 10 miles north of Buxton. There is no actual postcode for the Speedway/Stockcar stadiums. The nearest postcode is for a farm on the same road SK17 0RR . The best directions are to use the A53 Buxton to Leek road to about 4 miles out of BUxton and look for the turn off signed Dalehead and follow this road about 2 miles .go over 3 cattle grids and the stadium entrance is on the left
  12. Rider's reports were that the track was very patchy and inconsistent. Buxton track is nothing to write home about, most weeks big stones showing through bend 1 deep grove on inside bend 2 very slick into bend 3 down to sand base on bend 4 . track material very deep from half way out on bends 1&2 also bends 3&4. All this soon into meeting , so sad Ken Moss would not have had His track like that
  13. Buxton track is not good it has wanted digging up and replacing for quite a long time now. Biggest problem I can see is that nobody seems to do much work on it . The late Ken Moss would be ashamed of the state of it. He used to grade an water every few races and the water used before last weeks meeting out of the whale tank stank to high heaven. What`s happened Jayne & Richard Buxton Speedway used to be one of the best in the 3rd division I`m afraid it is now one of the worst
  14. channel 37 free view is not shown by every tv mast only by the main transmiters its not shown by all local repeater masts
  15. He must be getting a very good wage plus travel expences
  16. Jayne I can see and agree money need to be collected at the gate. But I still say that the team manager should be in the pits right from before warm up till meeting is closed by the referee
  17. I see that Buxton have a new team manager with the loss of Jack Lee to Birminham. Is she going to be in the pits from the word go like a good manager or still be in the pay booth for most of the meeting
  18. Maybe the pigeon post from Great Yarmouth has got lost
  19. I remember our trip to Wembley in 1969 Ivan took his #1 bike on the back of his Mercerdes car Soren Sjostin took his #1 bike in the boot of his Merc I took both riders #2 bikes & the Belle Vue track spare for both riders to use if required in a van Happy days
