  1. Yeah Alan I know there is plenty of wifi but don't wanna lug a lap top around to much as our sightseeing is gonna be pretty busy as most places only there for a day or so. Only LA where we are there for 5 days. If there is a match late at night I will watch but during the day will be too busy. Sunday night first night in New York will be drinks in Dick Manitoba's bar in Alphabet City hopefully the punk legend will be there too as it would be great to have a chat with him. Dictators Manifest Destiny is a classic punk/rock album. This match is the total opposite of last night. Hardly edge of the seat stuff Blame it on the strength of the cannabis in that area
  2. good crowd by look of it. Nice stream as usual.
  3. see a lot of sense comes out of the mouths of crazy people sometimes. He called that dead right. He is not as daft as the trolls on the EL section think. :) Well called mad person! Thankfully Laguta kept his head. Well done Smederna. What a hell of a speedway meeting. See you all in Denmark
  4. You may be biased but it is indeed one of the best meetings I have seen on the box this year. Got to be PK and Greg but the nutbag makes a decent point. Whatever it will be a hell of a race and this is just the quarters.
  5. No wins for NKI. Squeaky bum time for the Reds. Could Greg and PK pinch it in heat 15?
  6. I will see what I can do. I would like to see Woffy in the GP and the SEC meeting but train does not have wifi but our hotels do. Of course sightseeing is the thing and lots of that to do. New York, washington, Chicago, Frisco, LA and San Antonio in 19 days by train ## and of course Iron Maiden This is a good meeting and so was last weeks. Nice to see that in the intervals.
  7. I have gotten a 2nd hand lap top for travelling mate but dunno how the time zones and wifi will impact on that. East to West and then Texas. Lot of travelling Also lots to see. I would like to see something speedway but dunno if that will happen No wifi on Amtrak.
  8. I don't think many people would begrudge Toni Lindback a max. 'Xcept for Smederna fans of course
  9. Great ride by Greg. He is a really smart rider. A dave just said a good defensive ride by the Russian. The GP is crying out for guys like him.
  10. That's the nature of the game but at least THEY would be worth missing whereas a lot of the foreign riders we waste such a lot of money on certainly won't be. Some would hopefully graduate to the top leagues abroad but that does not mean they would all naff off as hopefully they would also ride here. Developing home grown talent does not mean it HAS to leave the nest just because it is too good for the rest as surely the idea would be to cultivate a strong league here. In the end it would all boil down to money and if we could not afford these new stars then they would go to where they can afford them. And if they were Brits good luck to them
  11. Here is hoping for better luck this week as this will be my last Swedish match of the year so hope it's a good one
  12. Arthur Browning was a big lad and he did alright he was about 8 foot tall with legs that could extend an extra couple of foot when he went into the bends. He used to cover the inside with his extendable legs so nobody could go under him. So the answer to your question is yes.
  13. As TWK says promote British and build up new stars. You will have the excitement of watching these riders become more balanced and then top men. The old NL in the 70s did not have these over rated GP riders but attracted very good crowds and produced some of the best racing I ever saw. Who cares if the foreign merceneries desert the sinking ship. In general they only take from British speedway (with the few obvious exceptions) and give very little if anything back. Speedway is best when it's four laps and four commited riders of comparable ability and not Darcy Ward versus three PL standard riders. Insular is best for British speedway now it's wasted all it's money on flying foreign riders in and out for variable returns, frittered away decades of SKY coverage and lost most of it's spectators with awful tracks, poor racing and even poorer facilities and not very sensible prices. The sport needs to take a leaf out of the past and look to the future. Spend the cash left on developing a rider base that lives here and wants to race in British speedway. Don't waste it on Greg Hancock who is only here because his Polish team dumped him no matter what he said on SKY last night. Develop the facilities and spend money on speedways most important assett it's track surfaces and give the spectator something back for a change. The old adage 'when in a hole, stop digging' never more applied to Bristish speedway than it does now.
  14. If that's the line up I think Poland need strengthening. They should give young Pawel Przedpelski a chance to show what he can do.
  15. I would say don't be f'ing ridiculous but you are anyway MJJ is not in the same universe as someone of the standing of Ole Olsen and frankly never will be. Nicki should have made a magnanimous gesture and let Bjerre keep his place as Nicki can't possibly win the title but Bjerre can.
  16. great rider. saw him at 16 and he looked decent then. Good luck to the lad in whatever he does
  17. But did not Jurica once get exactly the same wild card as Chris by virtue of the fact his Dad owned the track? Of course it's unfair and of course it's stupid but don't blame Harris for the silly rules. He has benefitted the same as others before him and been given a 2nd bite of the cherry he did not deserve. Someone was going to take that spot and when it came to Harris he grabbed it. Blame the rule not the rider
  18. Of course it's silly that qualifier failures or non shows can be handed a 2nd chance due to being born somewhere but that is not the fault of the one who grabs that opportunity. If Bomber had qualified he would deserve his place just like the others who qualified by this route. However they came to be there. Of course he isn't good enough to be in the company of the SGP top riders and will, if he gets the chance, fail miserably once again. But it's not the lads fault he is now 1st reserve. (once Smolinski is promoted to the SGP full time). The system that helps the poorer speedway nations by virtue of allowing them a seed to this meeting now helped Bomber. He still believes he can be an assett to the GP. I don't think many will agree with him and to be brutal there are dozens that deserve to be there before him. But if he makes it fair play to him. He benefitted from the system. He isn't the first to do that and won't be the last. I will cheer him on if he gets in even though I know he should not be there. That folks is speedway.
  19. Lot's of us fans had a pop at Tony and his commentries but still sad to see he has passed away. He made a lot of us laugh in his time and I remember him for that. He was for all his faults a one off. A total original who I am sure will be missed by friend and foe alike. RIP Tony.
  20. cheers mate but the links don't work for me. I just get an error sign. same with the polish site. All down. Bliner is also down. looks like I am sh#t outta luck tonight
  21. Good to see Bomber back. I think it will be a decent contest as both teams have a good main body and decent reserves. Elit look to have the edge but it depends which Hans Andersen turns up and how Bomber copes coming back from injury.
