  1. It could be both Belle Vue & Swindon in the top 4, the way that Kings Lynn are riding at present. Will be interesting as the Robins have Kings Lynn twice in August.
  2. To fit Magic, Holder & Darcy in next season. Let's face it, Poole are almost certain to qualify for the play-offs, so Fat Maude would be looking to next season.
  3. Is everybody in Poole so self-interested that they cannot get volunteers. At the Abbey they have team of about 5/6 volunteers every Thursday, meeting or no meeting who maintain the track & fences, digging in new drains, new access for the Sky broadcast cables, etc., etc. Look up the Blunsdon Blog, you may find it very interesting.
  4. Nothing to say that he cannot sign on a permanent basis. It says on the BSPA that he cannot commit to a full time basis but when interviewed on local radio, he intimated that he would like to score as many points as possible so that he could replace Rose.
  5. What wimps you are all becoming, in the old days it was a hedge or bucket job.
  6. You consistently talk about manipulating averages in meetings you have not attended. Batch's confidence coming back from his crash against Poole was very low, if he got out of the gate, he was away & usually won the heat by a mile but if he missed the gate he was loath to take chances & lost ground. He had not fully recovered from the accident when he had a bad fall in the GP, which really shook him up again. In the meeting against Belle Vue, he had genuine engine problems as anyone on the back straight will confirm. You do not lead a race for 3 & 3/4 laps going full out & then pull up in the finishing straight, you would pull up early & save your engine. You are just trying to base your theory around the scores & not the facts. Ok, so it helped us out but it does not account for the bad luck & injuries, we have had ever since the 1st meeting with Poole. I take it from your attitude that Hans Andersen must be manipulating his average for next season!
  7. Yes but Kyle had locked up & was the cause of the incident as Wright could not avoid him. It doesn't matter who hit who, it's what caused the incident that counts. Typical Poole re-action, their riders can do no wrong, it's always the other teams fault.
  8. Must have been a poor harvest this year as the sour grapes seem to be in huge supply in the Black Country.
  9. I might go for Chris Harris in this one, he rides Poole better than Hans, especially if it's wet.
  10. Remember when the stadium was 1st proposed, Justin Tomlinson (local councillor for the area) was very anti the new stadium. However, when there was a huge campaign from the local paper and the public in favour of the new stadium, hey ho, suddenly he was a speedway supporter, supported & got the new plans passed & the sky was sunny again. He then stood for parliament & was elected. Have we now served his purpose & he no longer needs us, as if any politician would do that.
  11. At the end of the day I don't think that anyone really blames Poole. The problem for me is the heat 10 rule which is a nonsense & Sky's insistence on using it to get a meeting to end up with a result. To get full points after only 10 heats is a nonsense, how many meetings have totally changed after heat 10, if nothing else there should only be 2/3's of the points available if result declared at that point. This would deter sides on trying to force a result at this point, better to get a re-run with all points available.
  12. Apologies Grachan, forgot to deduct the 3 points from the TR. Forget average manipulation though, what point is there of taking risks in heat 15 when the match is won & the other team has gated & are away. Settle for what you've got, take no risks & save yourself for the next meeting. That is why Tai has won the World Championship & Darcy hasn't. Tai takes the points he needs & takes no risks as in Cardiff this year in the final. Darcy has taken risks in the past, crashed, got injured & then lost meetings & the World Championship as a result.
  13. Not as much as Swindon had at the 1st meeting. We lost 3 riders that night & finished up with only 6 riders in this meeting. Hardly average manipulation as Darcy's average over 2 meetings is 9.45. Try posting sensibly, Poole made the gate in heat 15 & it makes no sense to take risks when the meeting is already won.
  14. With the forecast weather today & following the rain from yesterday, This meeting looks all set for another Sky 10 heat fiasco. Not such good value for your tenner then. If the Robins have a good lead after heat 9, will Middlo be asking for a track inspection?
  15. Just in time for the play-offs & then you can use him as a guest. You usually need our riders to assist you in the play-offs.
  16. It's blocked off now on match days due to Health & Safety grounds. Just joking, calm down!
  17. All rides count towards the averages. Score on the night - doubling up points are divided by number of races & multiplied by 4. 16.2.1 ESTABLISHED MA’s are calculated on a “Rolling” basis, for a specified number of applicable Meetings, taking account of the number of Heats and Points (excluding Bonus Points) that a Rider has scored. The applicable Meetings are: Elite League: League Meetings, excluding the Play-Offs Premier League: League Cup mini-League Meetings & regular League Meetings National League: League Meetings only. NB: (Double) points scored as a TR will count at 50%.
  18. Hope it comes before the play-off cut off date & they can make decisions quicker than the FIM.
  19. Have you ever been to the Abbey, plenty of racing lines & passes as long as your bike is quick enough. Ask Poole, they were passing us race after race early in the season.
  20. The cheating claim is pure farce! Batch was flat out at the front for the best part of 4 laps until engine problems on the approach to the line. You could hear his engine popping on the back straights. There would have been no point of pushing his bike to the limit & shutting off at that point! Pure nonsense from the midland brigade & yes Wolves are woeful!
  21. It was but that's a detail that those blue specs don't recognise, anything to get a win. However, we should never forget that Coventry got a win over 10 heats at Swindon last season & I don't recall any Coventry fans thinking this was wrong. The only difference was that the Robin's riders came out in heat 10 under protest, they did not stay in the pits. All injuries do not show up immediately, there can be a later re-action as is often the case with knee injuries.
  22. Why have we not referred this to the SCB for a decision or are we getting a loan fee?
  23. It's always better to make a good impression rather than a bad impression! I am afraid that you miss out on that score.
  24. Not sure on this rule, does it apply to a rider coming back after injury? I always that it was if he hadn't rode for you that season.
