  4. I don't get how making it 7 man teams will open it up for Wales or Scotland when they couldnt even compete with 4 or 5 man teams!!!Even disregarding the rules that seem to bar them from competing in FIM events anyway
  5. There is a train station just across the road from the track though isn't there? That is how i often got there......or cycled the distance from South London there and back
  6. I have said it before, but it seem crazy that Britain seem to be going down this route with the speedway giants of Czecho and Germany in having this 250cc competition.50cc and 80cc route is a proven thing. But of course most tracks find it impossible to build an 80cc track,so they have to stick the kids out on a full sized track.Ürobably as usefull as what i have seen here in Germany of sticking kids on 50cc bikes on a full sized speedway track!!!!!!
  7. Absolutely. And of course i have seen those riders in brackets a few times on 80cc and saw Dennis last year in Fjelsted. He has always impressed me.But how is Mellgren looking as i haven't seen him since the YGT a couple of years ago?
  8. Who are we likely to see in the Polish squad then Vicar? Is Janowski still young enough? Must say i was very impressed with the way the U21 team came back from a disastrous start last year in Holsted. But the Danes would have won if it wasn't for the injury to Kildemand
  9. I am not really sure you can class Pocking as a home track for Martin.I am sure he has said before that they only get to ride there once or twice a season. And because of the lady who lives near-by there hasn't been any speedway there for a couple of years now.Glad they finally have got permission and are able to have meetings(well at least this one so far).I am sure she will be back complaining though....so we have to wait. But ok,Martin didn't have far to travel, but that is about all the advantage he had i would say
  10. Great day for Smoli.Shame about Ed.But i hope he does manage to get a few meetings in the Danish Superliga to get more experience of the continental tracks, and not just the same half a dozen or so tracks in England
  11. Good to see you still know what he looks like No.The main talk was really about the new baby and how it is going to affect Manu's career......sleep deprivation and all
  12. Thanks As regards the prize money,i don't know.I was talking to Manu before the meeting and he said he was using the meeting as practice more than prize money. But knowing him,he wouldn't travel all that way just for practice.I guess Sullivan can ask for more money up front than others though?!?!And as half the field are Güstrows Bundesliga squad i guess these meetings come into the deal for the season
  13. Some fotos from yesterdays meeting here
  14. Yes they have recieved money and done up the place a bit.Great new floodlights and the terracing on the third/fourth bend which was pretty bad has been rebuilt among other things As to Ryan....well the two Russians were not released by their club. They had to attend a training camp,so Sulli was alte replacement. And a pretty good one at that.Even though he couldn't do anything against Manu and Kevin But he is a past winner of this meeting i think and also a former track record holder.
  15. Great meeting with some fantastic racing on what is imo the best track in north germany and better than those in Denmark as well Wölbert,Matze and even Roberto Haupt had one or two strong heats.Matze came through from the back to win.Kevin looked really strong at first. The race between Gomolski and Bogdanov was also a cracker.Meeting held up to allow a record crowd for the Osterpokal in....3,300 i think.Programmes all sold out.Great weather and i think the crowd would have gone home happy. Also of interest was the 125cc meeting between Güstrow and Marketa Prague. The away side winning 27-21
  16. Ryan Sullivan must start as favourite for the Easter Cup(Osterpokal)in Güstrow today.Pretty good line-up with a few yung Swedes,Hauzinger,ex 80cc World Champ Simon Nielsen and some local favouries Osterpokal line-up
  17. Grindsted and Holsted are not too far away from each other.....30 minutes or so.Will be good to meet you and any of the other Swedish guys and gals.....
  18. Yeah...and kokkolokoloko suunnitaleinen from me too
  19. It is good to see this meeting going ahead after a couple of years break for Pocking.i see that the lady who lives near by is still complaining and trying to stop the meeting.Luckily she hasn't been successful this time.Just that the meeting is starting a litlle later than planned, because of the german law that here must be peace and quiet between 13:00 and 15:00.I wish Pocking all the best with the meeting and hope this is the start of a new era....
  20. Where ever it is....i hope to get to both meetings...And see a danish win in the final
  21. It looks avery even meeting....i guess zagar will be the best rider....and of course i hope that Germany come out on top.But the german riders form is very unpredictable at the moment
  22. In all fairness though....and not knowing what you do....there are probably 5 or 10 people in Poole waiting that could do your job.....on the other hand there are only one or two that could do Nicki's....in the world.....if that(and they are signed up already). And we all know if the crunch comes and after a few meetings a team is struggling badly they can find that extra bit of money....usually
  23. But on the other hand apparently he will be in Poland tomorrow with his manager
