Well I won't be making the trip down the A2 from work to see what had the makings of a great Monday night out last year. With a crap track thats just not improved, presentation that's decidly iffy (non exsistant) I'll stay at home and watch the British Final on tele and save my coppers. Sorry Kent but until improvements are made I think you've seen the last of me this season.

Even the local press (see below) seem to think what we all know. When is Silver going to smell the roses for gods sake! "It was a strange meeting which never sparked into life, plagued by a poor attendance and a dusty track which left those punters who had paid good money to watch probably wishing they had stayed at home." Recon Rye House will start as underdogs here. Expecting all the usual excuses from Hinge & Bracket. How in earth Silver can say his team are giving a 100%, what poppy cock. Feel like I'm taking over from Chris here on this forum, who incidenty has been rather quite over the last few months, perhaps he no longer, like many others just can't be bothered to go to Rye!

Redcar V Rye House 19th June - Off
Dave Stummings replied to northyorksbear's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Absolute cobblers Redcar! I can't change me leave at work. Accept if rain effected but this crap about poor Redcar, shouldn't have agreed to run the meeting months ago not 10 days before, a discrace! -
Redcar V Rye House 19th June - Off
Dave Stummings replied to northyorksbear's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well I have booked two days off for Redcar and Edinburgh. Hotel for the night in Redcar and Edinburgh then the journey home on the Saturday for Rye House. Okay I can cancel the hotels, but not my leave at work. I'm fumming Silver has agreed to cancel this, surely he had a say in the matter? Redcar should have canceled as soon as the England fixture was released. I'm really becoming totally cheesed of with speedway. I'm so unhappy with the way Rye House is being run and this just about tops it for me. Edinburgh for a one off, no thanks. Right now I really feel like walking away from Rye House and speedway in general. But I have said this before and still go to Rye, but this just may have been the straw that broke the camels bacl! -
Rye House V Somerset 7th June
Dave Stummings replied to Dave Stummings's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The £ note issue is as stated the main reason for a lack of quality riders. But remember the revenue for each meeting isn't all straight into Lens pocket. There's medical cover, that don't come cheap, there is travel money for the Rye riders, insurances, bonds, stadium running costs, shale, rates, etc etc. What is the answer? Well we know when ever a outside co-promoter has come in in the past they haven't lasted very long. I guess Colin Pratt was the longest. So Len needs to do what Bob Dugard does, get someone to run the team and Lenny looks after the track. Certainly the team manager has to be the most boring inept manager of any sport. When for example Raiders or Kent go to Buxton he's convinced the team they're beaton before they even arrive. So a complete clear out. But will it happen? Yes I think it will. Nobody will turn up to support the Rockets. Supporters are already walking with there feet by not turning up. Len will either drop down to the National League or get another outside party to run Rye, but by which time it will be to late and the fans will have found other things to do with there hard earned cash. Two years is the time limit and unless major changes are sought I recon Rye House Speedway will close and that will be it, -
Rye House V Somerset 7th June
Dave Stummings replied to Dave Stummings's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Silver needs to replace virtually the whole team. Cheap cheap cheap and will ending up closing down because he hasn't a clue anymore. Get out now please Len, bring in a new younger promoter and team manager. Discusting performance, no doubt the usual excuses Eddie this, boxall that, plus all the other lame usual rubbish. At this rate the crowd will be down to only a handful each week. Such a shame Rye House is being wound down in my view -

It would appear the rains haven't come to save Rye House from being thumped at home tonight. Can't see many people going either. -
Kent V Coventry Mon 2nd June
Dave Stummings replied to Old Crusader's topic in National League Speedway
Trouble here is, well several things. Track quite honestly is no better than last season, it's crap, simple as. The team is being led by young Morley with back up from Lambert, shame Compton is injured as with him plus Mason it's not a bad top four. Chessell I don't think will get any better and the two reserves only time will tell. The other thing that had put people of Is the utter rubbish bickering that's gone on between two individuals. Both in my opinion shouldn't talk about it freely on the www. That has stopped several people I know from attending in 2014. The fans are without doubt not attending in numbers like they did last season. Presentation is crap, as is the PA, so is the racing so quite honestly it needs a new managerial team, a new track curator and maybe fans will start coming back. But for those of us who know Len, there are two hopes for the above, Bob and his mate No Hope -
With the weather forecast not to clever for Saturday plus no Mr Garrity or Mr Fench plus Mr Boxall needs time to sort out his engines can only see Hinge & Bracket calling this one off early doors. If it runs a easy Sonerset win here.

Rye House V Plymouth 25th May
Dave Stummings replied to Dave Stummings's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
See Stefan average is 4.70, let's hope he's not to nervous -
Sunday racing this week and Plymouth return in search of league points. Earlier in the season Plymouth won without to much difficulty at the Hoddesdon raceway. I have to say optimism is coming back with the Rye team and Stummo predicts a easy Rye House win.

Rockets V Sheffield Pl 17/5/14 7.00pm
Dave Stummings replied to Ben91's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Why oh why does Silver persevere with Lambert. With a poor crowd as exclusively predicted by Shadders, it will get worse. Bunyan does try but words really fail me...... Currently 18-22 to Sheffield. What a mess Hinge & Bracket are making of Rye. Have so little good things to say about Rye these days. Fans walking with there feet by not attending. People openly saying on this forum they had enough, surely Silver must realise the error of his ways. I feel sorry for Lambert but Rye House is a business and quite honestly it's going down the pan. Newcastle have made drastic changes. But at Rye, same as. I'd like to see Sheffield win tonight, perhaps they will, but until changes are made I'm expecting Rye to loose every match. The Morley thing is unbelievable but perhaps he dosent want to ride for Rye House? What a mess Hinge & Bracket are making of Rye. Have so little good things to say about Rye these days. See Adam Roynon rode for Plymouth last night. Assume he's signed for them? With the Henry feller free from Newcastle , Morley still free from a perminant PL place still can't work out Len Silvermans logic. Obviously successes is something he don't want! Well I think his paying public do!

Kent Kings V Mildenhall Nl 5/5/14
Dave Stummings replied to blueherb777's topic in National League Speedway
People who leave meetings, amazing. There were 15 year olds out there. Some were of course more experienced but for gods sake. If you want elite speedway then don't go to NL speedway. -
I remember at least 5 days before the Rockets had a meeting at Hoddesdon people would be posting their predictions. With two days to tapes up, no one has even bothered to start a post, so Stummo has decided to. With Peterborough’s blip both at home and away to Rye earlier on in the season I can’t really see the Panthers being as poor as they were. I’m amazed that changes haven’t been made. Although Simon Lambert did ride well at Poole on Tuesday according to BBC WM. Well worth a listen to them when either Brum or Wolves are racing. I genuinely feel sorry for Lambert, but with riders out there Nielsen and Morley to name a few why we haven’t had changes is beyond me. Latest press release has the same seven on Sunday which will either bite Dames Hinge [Len Silver] & Bracket [John Sampford] on the bum or have them saying we told you so or the usual lame excuses. When Hinge & Bracket do make changes both of these riders will probably be signed by another PL club. I have to say I was impressed with the Panthers on the Sky on Tuesday. Greenwood who rode well for Rye on a guest appearance last year looked very impressive and can see him scoring a few. We all know on paper Panthers have a very strong look about them. I Think Rye will have a tough meeting on their hands here. If Bunyan, Garrity and Lambert ride as they have done then it has to be a Panthers win. However if the team ride and score points then perhaps Rye can get one over the Panthers.

Rye House V Ipswich 20 April League Cup
Dave Stummings replied to Vincent Vega's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Yes it’s funny how things change. On cloud nine after what we thought was a fantastic win, but reality has soon kicked in here. Look I can’t ride a speedway bike, have tried, but I was frightened to go more than about 15mph [or should that be kilometres?] The guys risk life and limb and hats off to them for that. What we have at Rye House is a team that has obviously showed the win at Peterborough was a fluke. Peterborough are poor, although I can’t see Rye repeating their win in the PL match return at the home of the Panthers. I so hope the current team can prove me wrong, that includes Simon Lambert. But the current team are weak, one outstanding rider in Kennett and as previously stated a team of second strings and reserves. Ipswich has a much more solid look about them. Somerset tore through Rye last Saturday, exposing all the weakness’s we have. A lot of the passing has been done on the inside this year, especially exiting the 4th band and into the 1st bend. The racing has been really good thus far at Rye and long may that continue. But we have a situation here. Can we have good racing with a quality team? If not do we stick to good racing and a poor Rockets team? I want both, but after the shower at Lakeside wiping the board with Birmingham last week, will the shower faithful go and watch that each week at a track I believe to be as poor as Leicester? My want? Good close racing, Rye to win every week and decent fish & chips, but I know I can’t have it all….
