  1. Glasgow should be allowed up to Complin's average, 75% rule not needed.
  2. He had a great first match, but it's far too early to say he'll be the best reserve in the league imo. Gotta see how he'll do away for a start.
  3. Riders use their most "recent" average, so as Lynn raced a match before the April cut-off Rowe would now sign for a Champ team on his Prem converted average of 5.79 (3.86 x 1.5). So he'd use that same average to guest with. Otherwise he could end up with a 10+ Prem average but still guest on his old Champ average. That's an exaggeration to make a point.
  4. Why do Plymouth get so much grief (on various sites) for their rain-offs? Currently they've raced the same amount of home fixtures (0) as Edinburgh, Glasgow, Oxford (Cheetahs), Redcar & Workington. Plymouth can race on Tuesdays & Saturday, whilst clubs like Edinburgh, Oxford & Redcar also have to fit in 5 NL fixtures. Yet still many act like Plymouth will be the club holding everyone up etc. I just don't get the negativity towards Plymouth?
  5. I personally think they should have made a comment about coaching or re-training the referee, a one match ban is pointless if he does the same in every meeting. Did they explain to him what he did wrong & what he should have done?
  6. Looks a really interesting contest. Think Witches top 2 could be the difference here. Plus Dan T vs Boughen looks a bit of a mismatch based on early season form.
  7. That's an even better point still!
  8. How is a rider being a fair way behind "development"? Unless last year he was continuously lapped & now he's only well behind. Now Sonny Springer scoring loads from reserve - that's development!
  9. Anyone who thinks that, can simply stop reading the posts
  10. Newcastle dropped Connor Mountain because they needed a "rising star" then for whatever reason, Claus Vissing left the club & Mountain came back in. I was pointing out a flaw in the RS system, that a developing Brit was dropped because of a system designed to help developing Brits.
  11. I've not seen it in the rules, just read a team manager commenting on it. Unless I'm mistaken & confusing it with another rule change?
  12. I believe they've changed the rules this year to allow r/r, which would have helped Birmingham & Plymouth last year, when they lost Morris & Worrall, who were only allowed to be replaced by reserves. But of course, that's no help when it's a reserve who gets suspended.
  13. Plymouth need their reserves to outscore the oppositions every meeting to be competitive. But if Hagon rides like he did against Oxford, gonna be a long night for the Gladiators.
  14. That was the downside of the "rising star" system. Newcastle dropped promising young Brit Connor Mountain because he wasn't a "RS" replaced him with Joe Alcock who was nowhere near ready, then replaced him with Archie Freeman who was even further away from being ready. Obviously he got "free practice" but did going in the Champ far too early, hinder his progress? Ideally you want riders to be NL heat leaders before stepping up.
  15. Surprised Edinburgh didn't score more today. I rate Leicester as favourites, but Edinburgh's riders pre-season really talked up their game & had me believing in them. I'm sure Wood talked about being a number one & both Watson & Parker talked about becoming heat leaders?
  16. I don't think so. Aside from the cost being prohibitive (who pays for it). Testing for drugs / alcohol isn't there to "catch riders out" it's there as a deterrent to stop them doing it in the first place. For example I don't get tested for drink driving every time I'm in my car at work, but I know my company could come anyday and do it. So I don't do it for two reasons 1) it's dangerous, 2) I could get caught. The same 2 reasons should are applicable for speedway riders, I'd hope like me the first reason is enough to stop them taking anything.
  17. Worrall's average is below 8, so a 6+1 score away from home isn't so bad. He's not the rider he was when he first went to Poole. Have Glasgow fans overrated their heat leader strength I wonder?
  18. You certainly weren't the only one. I guess he was overshadowed by Masters & Nicholls at Oxford. This is his chance to show he can be a number one.
  19. Jack Smith? But let's not jump to conclusions before all the facts are known.
  20. It says "no longer available" which means it was previously available. Assuming Sheffield had spent time organising the new date with the riders, officials, volunteers etc can they sue the stadium owners for going back in their word for any lost expenses?
