  1. Assuming the team is as many predict, signing Jenkins at 6, would have allowed Aces to keep Wright instead of Blodorn!
  2. I've read Trigger will be at Redcar, just think this would be a better team. Until riders are officially announced, I'll continue with my predictions lol!
  3. Surely that would have been a good ruling for the Champ rather than the Prem?
  4. How about? Redcar Danny King 8.41 Charles Wright 7.80 Claus Vissing 6.24 Connor Bailey 5.23 Jason Edwards 4.55 Jake Mulford 3.06 Connor Coles 2.63 Total 37.92
  5. Looks like it will be the weakest reserve pairing (on paper) to me. gotta make sure they make use of the 75% reduction to Kemp's average & not do an Ipswich or King's Lynn & miss the points limit.
  6. One thing they have done is truly turn the NDL into a league for second teams of senior sides. Partly that's been happening anyway, as if you have 2 stand alone clubs wanting 12 home fixtures & 6 second teams wanting 6 home fixtures, what can you do? Have to go with the majority. The downside of this is the third tier has been a way for clubs to start at a lower financial level before stepping up to the Champ, off the top of my head Berwick, Birmingham, Eastbourne, Kent, Lakeside, Plymouth, Rye House, Scunthorpe, Somerset & Workington have either started at National / Conference etc or dropped down before stepping back up, this option will be less likely in the future, as it would cost a lot to build a stadium for 5 home meetings a year.
  7. I always got the impression they are talking about season ending averages, so assuming Joe T has never finished above 4.00 he could still race NL.
  8. I'm not sure if there will be enough quality, but I'm sure they'll find enough riders who want to race, just hope they can all turn the bikes safely etc. i.e the NDL shouldn't be the level where you learn to slide etc.
  9. Good question, Hook has never "achieved" a 4.00 ave so should be able to race NL. Pearson has risen above 4.00.
  10. I understand the no 4.00 Champ riders rule, personally I would have preferred the rule to be no 4.00 Champ riders allowed to double up. That would allow the likes of Clegg & Morley to race NL, but if they get called up, NL team needs to replace them. I know people will say they shouldn't be in a "development" league, but what about how they can help develop their teammates with coaching on the correct lines to race, how to set up your bikes etc. I also feel they give the top "developing" riders someone to aim for, if the likes of Harrison & Perry can defeat Morley & Clegg, they'll know they've reached the standard required to step up to the Champ. Remove these experienced riders and the next "Harrison & Perry" may have 9.5 averages, but could be nowhere near Champ level as they've only beaten fellow "developing" riders. I certainly think riders shouldn't be allowed to treble up, if you're good enough for the Prem, shouldn't be in the NL imo. I'm happy with 10 league fixtures, no KOC or play-offs, aside from thinking top of the league should be Champions, it allows the trans to plan their fixtures, knowing they have till the end of October to race their 5 home meetings. While it's a shame there's less matches for the NL riders, they can't demand more fixtures if fans don't attend in high enough numbers / clubs don't want to host more meetings. Will have to increase their track time with second half's & amateur / Nora speedway.
  11. I don't understand the BSPL's attitude towards the NL / Nora / Mildenhall / Kent either. I can only assume they are absolutely positive they know what's best for Speedway & if clubs don't toe the line, they are happy for them to disappear. Certainly makes no sense to me, it's as if they are oblivious to the problems with Speedway in the UK & think everything is all peachy (that they won't miss Mildenhall & Kent)?
  12. I partly agree with that, but also feel if they said to the other 6 Prem teams, we'll join up for the league only, they'd have bitten their hands off for a 7th team.
  13. I agree, which I why I said a "weak" signing, it's not a gamble if you sign the best available remaining rider, which could be Joe?
  14. I wouldn't call it a huge gamble, just a weak signing (sorry Joe)
  15. You've confused me, do you mean Champ spot? If Dan T wanted to race for Leicester, I would have had him in a heartbeat, maybe he wanted to be loyal to Ipswich after Leicester dropped him?
  16. Kerr has a higher Prem & Champ average than MPT, who is surely Lynn's 6th best rider?
  17. That makes zero sense to me, they could very easily race either one of the teams seeded to the semi finals. However I have no issue whatsoever with them sitting out the KOC as they are competing in 3 leagues.
  18. Why are the Pawlicki's being called has beens? Maybe they are not at their peak (former GP riders) but they're still Extraliga riders & you don't get to race in that league without a hell of a lot of talent.
  19. Hope not. Birmingham could really do with a rider who is willing to turn up at every match. That being said, maybe it's cheaper to use Laguta, use him at home to get a big crowd, then he can sit out away matches with Brummies using a cheaper guest?
  20. Janowski must have a re-assesed average (don't know why) but these things are kept secret from fans (don't know why)
  21. Looks a good team to me, can't agree with the very odd poster who thinks it looks poor. Great number one, solid throughout & possibly the best reserve in the league. Bringing riders back to the UK, using 4 Brits, what's not to like? Ok one thing, that there is only ONE Spire / Cheetah doubling up is odd to me.
  22. That's not really the case, Lambert could have replaced any of the Lynn team. It's just that they wanted to have a 5 point reserve, Lambert isn't strong enough to make the team. Had they run with a 4.00 reserve (just under the limit) then yes, I'd agree he was "too good" last year.
  23. Don't be daft, that "5 year plan" only lasted one year in the Championship. Credit to the Prem for keeping it.
  24. You don't have to include an RS at reserve, but Harrison would be a decent signing at number 7 (for Scunthorpe, Redcar or Workington).
