I would honestly be massively surprised if they weren't both at Poole next year.
-
Don't forget Oxford had probably the strongest heat leader trio in the league, so anyone signing for them, should score more points as the opposition won't be as strong.

Got to be Two leagues then

Wouldn't complain with that -
If he only rode for Berwick I'd agree with you, but he rides in the Prem & Poland without a "safety net". I guess I'm hoping for Berwick's sake he stays, they've not been strong for a while & losing Flint would hurt them badly imo
-
I just can't imagine Flint leaving Berwick tbh
-
Can't be that inconsistent as he's got a higher average than Redcar's current heat leaders, which could actually go against him, as I'd expect more improvement from King or Wright with their averages. In a weaker league, I think Kerr is a surefire number one, but I'd pick King & Wright before him.

Got to be Two leagues then
szkocjasid replied to Cast1rn's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I just hope it's a sensible ruling, i.e a 4* & 2* rider or 2 x 3* riders, not a ruling that means riders on 2.01 aves get dropped for a new 2.00 rider! -
Ablitt has upped his average, riding mainly at number 6 (harder rides). Mountain was awesome at number 7, but looks like a solid 5 point rider when in the team (not slagging him off, not every rider make it to HL level). I'd disagree with the last comment, if some top riders are dropping out, then the gap between strongest & weakest riders should be smaller & racing should logically be closer?

In 2015 Edinburgh started with 2 x 3.00 riders (Branford & Clegg) when they didn't have to have any, the following year every team had to include a 3.00 rider, so what happened Edinburgh had to drop one of their 3.50 averaged reserves. I hope a similar thing doesn't happen to Hagon / Trigger! I realise there has to be a cut-off for rising stars, but I hope it's not 2.00.

King’s Lynn 2024 serious team predictions
szkocjasid replied to SuperStarsFan91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'm gonna have to side with Lynn here. If other Leicester riders find out you can get an extra ÂŁ20 a point, they'll all ask for it, and Leicester could go bust. Lawson is a good rider, but not the sort that will turn an average team into a league winning team -
If it's a challenge match yes, if it's an official fixture no!
-
Trying to pick a team where all riders have a Workington connection: Workington Craig Cook 8.52 Richard Lawson 8.48 Thomas Jorgensen 6.39 Connor Bailey 5.23 Ty Proctor 4.00 Ace Pijper 3.17 Luke Harrison 2.00 Total 37.79
-
There's clearly more than 9 available, wether they are up to the correct standard is up for debate. I'd certainly prefer an RS rule to be under 3.50, feel it's a shame if the riders just above 2 (up to Pijper) could miss out.
-
Nothing to do with Leicester, but assuming Kinsley was under 2.3, this fits. R.Douglas 9.38 C.Harris 8.76 S.Nicholls 8.24 V.Tarasenko 5.00 C.Bailey 4.32 H.Atkins 2.00 R.Kinsley 2.??
-
Hadn't looked at fixture clashes, just thought it would be better to have a Leicester team than a select team.
-
Should just allow Leicester to race with their full team, using Lion Cubs to fill gaps caused by Lawson racing for Poole & the banned Worrall imo. 1. Max Fricke 12.00 2. Drew Kemp 5.32 3. Justin Sedgmen 7.69 4. Jake Allen 7.16 5. Lewis Kerr 8.60 6. Ashton Boughen 2.00 7. Max Perry 2.00 Comes to 44.77 vs Poole's current limit of 45.55.
-
"We will field our 2023 side with Leicester building a team based on start of season averages and we will be announcing details of their side shortly" That seems quite unfair on Leicester, at first glance, especially with Poole being at home. But I guess Leicester could pick 7 riders who's averages have gone up?
-
Newcastle certainly showed how difficult it was to get heat leaders riding on a Sunday, can't see Sunday's working for Champ speedway these days.
-
Of course the BSPL are going to recommend thru go into the Champ, hardly gonna recommend they close down or join Nora are they! Which begs the question, was the recommendation in the best interests of the club or the BSPL?

I've seen this comment many times & I'm not sure why? Cook was having a fantastic season, had upped his average and was out performing Pickering, until the incident against Poole, which I can only assume affected him badly. It's not like he never finishes a season, I'm sure it's the first time he's not finished a season (unless injured). Even so, teams use guests all the time, don't understand how that could be considered as negative
-
I think it was something like: 4* 3.50-6.50 3* 3.00-3.49 2* 2.50-2.99 1* 2.00-2.49 Something like that, I remember Flint (just below 3.5) being a lower grade than Bickley (just above 3.5). Very lopsided looking averages, as it was basically designed to allow Josh Bates to be a RS in the top division.
-
If the limit is 38 & teams should end up on 42 (on average) every rider should be looking to put 0.5 on their ave without even improving. But like you say, with some of their main rivals gone, anyone on 8+ averages could be looking at an even bigger increase.

Scunthorpe v Poole - 2023 KOC Final
szkocjasid replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I agree Poole are definitely favourites, but some suggested it was all over already, that's certainly not the case & who I would be arguing against.
