  1. I was meaning every time a reserve gets replaced, take a tapes exclusion to save your average, not suggesting touch the tapes in every heat to allow a stronger reserve in, you couldn't have a rider taking 0 rides anyway as he has to have 3 rides, so could only be replaced in one of these heats. I had always thought tapes exclusions don't count as a ride for averages (if replaced) as that means, 5 riders gained a ride in that heat for their stats, but only 4 rode (obviously). I'm not sure how the Lawson / Cook situation affects things, as they both weren't replaced, so counts as a ride, whichever way the averages were worked out.
  2. When he wasn't picked, I just assumed he must have been injured, as there is no other reason to go with Etheridge?
  3. If I'm wrong, and it looks as if I am (unless someone made a mistake) I cannot understand why they count tape exclusions for averages, normally a teams averages are based on 30 races per match, but with tape exclusions could be based on 31 or more. If I was a reserve being replaced, I would ask to be allowed to touch the tapes every time to lower my average, which is why I couldn't fathom that they do count, as 1) one doesn't every rider do that, 2) think how long the matches would go on, 3) would the BSPL cotton on to what's going on & change the ruling?
  4. I'm 99.9% certain they don't, but the next time I see a tape exclusion in a match, I'll look at the riders stats before they are updated & compare them afterwards to see (that I'm right lol)
  5. Now you're either trolling, joking or stupid, but how is moving 3 points scored by a tac sub from one heat, into another heat gonna mean Glasgow outscored Poole by more?
  6. It may have worked, we'll never know, but based on Complin's score, wouldn't have made a difference. I wouldn't say no point when they used it, as it's a better option than a second 3 rider race.
  7. I keep expecting Birmingham, Berwick, Edinburgh & Plymouth to eventually show a bit of fight & improve, but it doesn't happen. Even when they try & strengthen up, these 4 teams keep losing, I've never known a season like it. Now Friday at Edinburgh is a must win fixture for Birmingham, but I think they need at least one team change to stand a chance.
  8. I understand the point you are making, but I'd say the point of a tac sub is to gain an extra 3 points, which they did. It's possible Cami waited till heat 14 to decide who his most in form rider was?
  9. Glasgow's team manager got the decisions spot on & the team lost 53-37. Had Harris been used as a tac sub in heat 12 & won it, Complin would have been last in heat 14 - result is still 53-37. Had Complin been used in heat 11 to avoid it being a 3 man heat, he would have been last, instead of being last in heat 12 (which is then a 3 man heat) score is still 53-37!
  10. I'm sure I've had this argument before, but I'm positive a tape exclusion doesn't count as a ride for the averages (unless not replaced)
  11. If Schlein is fit, surely he'd be in the best pairs?
  12. Batchelor has pretty much been riding to his average this year. Brummies issues are elsewhere
  13. Based on the first 4 heats, you knew exactly what you were talking about
  14. Just noticed the averages on the SpeedwayGB website haven't included the Kent fixture. Oxford's stats are up to & including Aug 16th - why I thought he had only ridden twice
  15. 5 or 6 weeks in a row, if it was Plymouth or Poole meeting 3 times at the beginning of the season?
  16. Maybe because he's come from nowhere? The others were strong in under age events before they turned 15, Boughen has been startling, considering his lack of experience (similar to Bewley)
  17. So you could ride at the same track 3 weeks in a row, as a guest - for your own team, then as a guest again?
  18. I was there & cheered on Boyce that night, years later I realise I was young & immature & wouldn't approve of his actions now.
  19. The Premiership needs clubs, far more than these teams need to step up, so it would probably have to be under a criteria they approve of? The same goes for Poole, if they say it's either Wednesdays or we stay Championship, they may have to allow it to keep the top league alive?
  20. Killeen's only ridden 2 matches, still needs 2 more for an average.
  21. Is suspect Vatcher's reasoning for not picking Bailey was an attempt to lay thr blame elsewhere (suggesting Bailey isn't committed as others) but to me it makes them look childish & spiteful instead!
  22. Logic would suggest they should be allowed to guest in a double header, after riding for your own team, saves travel expenses, better for the environment etc but speedway & logic don't often go together
