Killeen's only ridden 2 matches, still needs 2 more for an average.
-
Is suspect Vatcher's reasoning for not picking Bailey was an attempt to lay thr blame elsewhere (suggesting Bailey isn't committed as others) but to me it makes them look childish & spiteful instead!
-
Logic would suggest they should be allowed to guest in a double header, after riding for your own team, saves travel expenses, better for the environment etc but speedway & logic don't often go together
-
You're so negative for a Birmingham fan (I'm assuming)
-
Theres still plenty time to get Wojdylo signed up before the 28th, just pointing out they could use r/r before signing him, not after. The first thing they should do is check a new riders availability, pretty daft if they tried to sign him for Wednesday, if his first match was to be on Friday.
-
Because he's only 16 with a 7.00 NL average. I'm not saying don't sign him, but certainly not pay a fee like that. There are other ways to invest in the future - like running a NL team. It he turns out as good as many expect then he could leave GB like Lambert / Woffinden, so that money has maybe bought them a league title (is it worth it?) Or if they are lucky, he'll be like Bewley & stay here, but Oxford would need to be in the top league to benefit from it.
-
A riders average can drop below his assessed average, but 4.00 is the minimum for foreigners. That's why last year Jacob Hook couldn't drop his assessed average (4.00) but Lasse Fredriksen (5.00) could.
-
Why would they even try to do that though? They have 28 days to replace Nowak, can easily wait till Friday to use Wojdylo
-
Glasgow wouldn't be due a facility for their new rider, but can use r/r for Nowak. When Edinburgh announced Clegg, he didn't start till the Friday & they used a facility for Fredriksen for two matches (Plymouth & Poole away from memory) till Clegg signed, Glasgow could have done the same

Poole v Glasgow 23/8/23 Championship
szkocjasid replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I can't understand why Basso isn't normally at 5? Brennan at 5 makes them look weak in that position for me. I was under the impression they swapped Brennan & Basso over because Tom & Claus don't ride well together, but that wouldn't explain why Brennan's at 3 tomorrow. Almost makes me think Basso is scared of heat 13 lol! -
Foolish for any club to pay that if true
-
Saves on travel expenses

I know it happens all the time, so it shouldn't be a shock, I've gotta say I'm surprised to see Josh guesting for Birmingham on Wednesday, as they are undoubtedly Monarchs biggest rivals for 6th spot.

Bombers Pending Statement
szkocjasid replied to KevAustin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
But in those jobs, you can leave of your own volition and work elsewhere at a moment's notice, so it's even. In Speedway you'd get banned for 28 days for leaving. So heavily sided against the riders. -
Jason Edwards is guesting for Plymouth today, but he rofe there for Redcar last week?
-
Maybe I shouldn't be, but I am shocked that Pickering is doing all he can to knock Edinburgh from a top 6 spot. @uk_martinbut if Edinburgh miss out on the play-offs that's 4 less meetings for him. Unless of course he guests for Morris in the play-offs for Brummies!

I'm what other job, can you fire someone at such short notice with no compensation? Riders may have mortgages etc but get dropped at a seconds notice, even if they've upped their averages (not Batchelor, Joe T at Scunny for example). -
It's certainly not over for Birmingham, especially as Edinburgh could lose at home to Poole, then Brummies can try & do the same. Surely Pickering wouldn't guest for Edinburgh's main rivals for 6th spot?
-
That's not how averages work. Sheffield would have to build their top 6 to 39.00 unless dropping riders for lower averages.
-
No, can't agree with that
-
There would be no point in doing that. Just use r/r for Jenkins with Killeen used as number 8 (Lewis Kerr gets an extra ride).
-
They'd get a facility for 28 days.
-
It's a minimum 2.00 in the Champ 100%. I'm pretty sure the minimum 3.00 in the Prem is to avoid clubs putting in 2.00 riders who would be out of their depth

Peterborough v Sheffield - 21st Aug

I have always enjoyed my trips to Alwalton, especially the fours finals back in the day. But even it can't hold a candle to the NSS imo -
