The rules say BSN series, it doesn't say BSN series group stages, so maybe they do count the Semis & finals of that competition? I think Celina won the last heat because she made the gate, she probably would have won a race in every match of she could make the gate consistently,.
-
Workington have 6 BSN fixtures, so 75% of 22 = 16.5. Could even have 8 BSN fixtures.

Starke's Glasgow average is higher than Leibmann's Workington average. Starke & Pijper combined have higher averages than Ivacic & Garrad. Of the two teams Workington have made the better change imo.

While McGurk, Hodder, Perry & James have struggled this year there doesn't seem to be a great amount of replacements out there for them. Weakening the NL won't make next season any better. I honestly think they need to use the Prem's rules of weakest rider at 7 / can't get replaced in heat 8. At least that was these 2.00 riders will race each other twice a match.
-
Leibmann was averaging 2.45 (2.82) from reserve. Pijper was averaging 2.70 (3.30) from reserve. Starke was averaging 3.38 (4.36) in the top 5. Seems a no brainer who to bring in.

Totally agree with that, basically they dropped Klindt for Riss because they wanted to use Nicholls as a guest for Kerr. The BSPL / SCB should have said no to dropping Klindt when Kerr was injured. Riss could've replaced Kerr, then when Kerr was fit he could replace Klindt = no guests needed.

Brummies v Aces Monday 29/7
szkocjasid replied to noaksey's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
On paper Birmingham should get 50, but they've been so awful this year, it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't reach 40. -
The Premiership needs Poole more than Poole needs the Premiership imo. Poole have shown they can get great crowds in the Champ as long as they race on Wednesdays. Now if Poole were allowed to move up with a Wednesday race night, then they might be interested.

Brilliant answer, why would British Speedway want to fly over foreign based riders or have to find them accomodation etc when they don't score points? I think the minimum 4.00 average for foreigners is a great rule. Go back 5/10 years and riders like Rafal Konopka, Anders Andersen, Arlo Bugeja would keep getting chances on 3.00 averages at reserve. Nothing against these guys riding in Britain, but shouldn't be taking the place of a Brit who will score as many.

Pride. No one wants the wooden spoon. -
It's very hard to take your opinions seriously because you seem to be so anti Simon Lambert, suggesting extreme measures for a disappointing season (retiring), not giving any credit when someone points out he's had a good match (calling it a one-off) or basically ignoring posts which show his average has hardly dropped (which I've shown), besides there are lots of riders who have dropped their averages this year. So Simon Lambert has dropped a "whopping" 0.18 from last year's average (6.02 - 5.84) The following riders have dropped more: Sam Masters 9.47 - 9.06 Chris Harris 9.18 - 8.79 Danny King 8.63 - 7.66 Kyle Howarth 7.96 - 7.39 Ben Barker 7.61 - 6.45 Jye Etheridge 5.91 - 5.69 Jordan Jenkins 5.98 - 5.41 Kyle Newman 5.65 - 5.37 Connor Bailey 5.36 - 5.10 Jonas Knudsen 5.39 - 4.97 Henry Atkins 4.43 - 4.05 Paul Starke 4.10 - 3.51 Ace Pijper 3.25 - 3.01 So unless you're suggesting all these riders are having stinkers of a season, past their best and it's time to hang their leathers up, it appears you are singling out Lambert!

I don't think he can, which is a very stupid rule imo. Surely a club using an unattached rider is better than using one from a rival team? -

Great guest for Sheffield, they don't take any chances, even against the weakest teams in the league. -

Tbh, they're better with guests. If you can't find a better guest than Kerr one week, use him. As long as Kerr is happy with that scenario. -
Didn't know Sheffield were in the NFL lol! But there's plenty of NDL matches still to be arranged, nearly every club in the league has a fixture to be announced. That division will get ignored as long as the main club is still got a chance of play-offs etc. Probably expected the NDL to be busy in October.

Workington Comets vs Poole Pirates 27th July
szkocjasid replied to lbw's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Last year Glasgow signed a near 9 points rider on a 5 point average. That won't happen this year. Then they lost fair & square to a Lambert inspired Scunthorpe. I think this year they are even more clear of the rest. Last year Oxford & Glasgow (pre-Tarasenko) weren't far behind, don't seem to have the same challenges this year. -

Halder is a 5 point second string, why would he be relied on for a good points haul? That's the job of Mulford & Trigger at the top of the team. -

I wouldn't be surprised if they were both back at Workington next season. My logic being there no point in keeping struggling riders unless you think they'll improve in the future? Basically the only reason not to drop them this year is to benefit next year, to me it would be ludicrous to keep them all year, virtually ruin any chance of winning trophies, but then not re-sign them. -
Don't get where the anti-Lambert comments are coming from. His average from 15 matches this year is 5.86 (6.84). His 20 match rolling ave, which obviously must include his last 5 matches from last year is 5.73 (6.68). Every rider should want their 24 average to be higher than their "rolling" average - this shows their scores must be improving!

Nope think the Monarchs got their tactics spot on. Replacing Thomsen in heat 11 means a reserve having to take another ride (in 14). Had Flint won heat 11 = 2 points gained. Had Coles been in 14, likely would've been behind Joe T = 4 points lost. -

In Hagon's defence he only lost to Workington's top 5, all of whom have higher averages than him. Not an unexpected result from a reserve away from home. -

Feel for Hodder, wins heat 2, but then doesn't meet a reserve again. Well done Drew, hope Peter Schroeck was watching lol! -

I think Scunthorpe could beat Oxford (assuming they finish 2nd & 3rd) but can't see anyone beating Poole over 2 legs, seems like an almost certain treble coming for the Pirates. Scunthorpe are probably the best home team but won't put up a big enough score to beat Poole over 2 legs. -

When Zischke was in the team, Workington were far stronger at home, no-one can match his scores on iOS average imo. Will be tough for Workington for the rest of the season unless they find a super replacement and / or swap their reserves. Poole to win today. -

Honestly think he's the best rider at that age since Woffinden!
