  1. As an alternative, install Phil Morris as CEO of league speedway (Team GB carries on as is). What he says go, he answers to no one in a similar way to Barry Hearn did in Snooker in the 80's. Phil's success is measured in three metrics, Commercial Income, spectator figures, broadcast/streaming viewing figures. Profits are ploughed back into the sport. This year he has already made the Premiership appear more professional by getting clubs to adopt a similar presentation style to the SGP's for broadcast meetings which is a small step in the right direction.
  2. ....And yet wouldnt agree to race the return at Leicester until August, which was rained off and agree to a restaging date of September.
  3. I think the riders that will struggle to find a team place will be the seven point plus riders as I can only see one of these per team. Anders could well find himself in the third heat leader role unless a team chooses to "backfill" with a number of 3 pont riders.
  4. Thats rather harsh on Perry. Based on seeing him ride for the Cubs, he is a bright kid that uses his brain and his throttle so will do a very good job for whoever he riders for at Championship level next season.
  5. 1 Chris Harris (Capt) 2 Drew Kemp 3 Danyon Hume 4 Jake Allen 5 Leon Flint 6 Arran Butcher 7 Jason Edwards according to the Poole website.
  6. If something like that was to happen my prefered option would be four rider teams, with only one rider allowed to be over 23 and all have to be UK nationals. Lets focus this opportunity on developing home grown tallent.
  7. I dont think anyone said it was. My comment was in response to his antics on the startline putting 30 mins on a meeting. But weak start marshals can cause meeting to run longer than they should.
  8. Based on dealing with him as an away rider for 11 season and a home rider this season I have never found Lawson to be a rider that arses around at the start. Maybe its a weak start marshal that is the problem.
  9. 2500 for Stox for an F1 meeting, if you include the world final then the average increases to 3700. Non F1 events average 1500 according the the chap under cross examination.
  10. Next person who is a Planning Consultant is doing a much better job. Trying to hold BE to account over unanswered questions and starting to unpick the self inflicted damage from yesterday.
  11. They are not allowed to ride in Sweden at the moment.
  12. Sky didnt want to pay for speedway due to the declining viewing figures. The only other broadcaster intereted picked up the rights. The positive those in charge did was keep a broadcast TV deal going. And whatever you think about the quality of their product they are doing their best to promote the sport to other motorcycle sport fans so its not all doom and gloom.
  13. Well it is the British Speedway Forum....
  14. But just make sure you get back in time for our home meeting.
  15. But wonderful to watch around the Pidcock Motorcycles arena.
  16. Err I think Covid had something to do with the league win not being mentioned.
  17. You misundestand the point. I am aware they dont need brakes. It's not selling what is not needed. It's turning a feature into a benefit, into "you appeal", which is stage one selling theory.
  18. And big sponsors will not come without big crowds. Now if the sport tried to rebrand as the original extreme sport it would maybe start to appeal more to younger people. One issue is that Speedway bikes are not the same as road machines so lets positively promote this - I wonder what percentage of the general public know that a speedway bike does not have brakes?
  19. And who pays the freight of moving machines between Swe & UK?
