Which ever way you work it out Poole on paper are a lot stronger than the rest.Mostly down to the fact that the BSPA have allowed old out off date averages to be used for much improved riders. This is great for Poole and their fans and well done mr Ford for putting this team together all within this years rules. But the problem for the rest of us is that every other team is quite evenly matched and at this point without Poole it would be hard to pick a winner.So with the BSPA allowing the out of date averages it has in my opinion spoilt what should have been the most evenly matched league in years.So well done again the BSPA you have again shot yourselves in the foot because if most teams later on in the season were still in with a shot of the play offs and winning the league a lot more supporters would turn up to support there team every week.Runaway teams are good for their own supporters but other clubs support will drop off as soon as they know they have no chance of winning sod all. All we can hope is that like last year Poole do not perform as well on the track as their team on paper says they should and evens things up.

How could I have not included the late great Dent Oliver in my post shame on me. Yes that's one of the reasons I think the 72 team was one of the greats because 5 of team were home grown talent plus Sjosten who was as good as.All down to Dent Oliver.

1972 was my 1st season Mauger was a God.The Belle vue team of that year was I m o the best I have seen to date only lost 2 and drew 1 away all season.What an introduction to the sport I was hooked then and still am today.45 season later and in my mind 1972 has never been bettered the memories of that season will be with me for the rest of my life.

Its not just about the 15 mins of speedway though is it.Its a night out where you can enjoy the racing but also if you are like me I meet up with my speedway friends(some I only see at speedway).Talk about all things speedway and all other thing ands have a good laugth etc and if I like I can have a drink. I went to the pub the other night spent about £15 on a few pints but that's all they gave me for my money other than a bit of background music.The enjoyment of the night was chatting and having a laugth with my friends etc= a good night out.If it was just about the booze i could have stayed in and drank the same on my own for a fraction of the cost.So what I am saying its not just the speedway its everything put together that gives me a really good night out at every speedway meeting I go to.

Swimming,diving,gymnastics,beach volleyball all in boiler suits.Tennis and hockey in long trousers.Full body beachware high neck lines skirts to the ankle etc.How far is it going to go it seems that some politically correct people will not be happy until we go back to Victorian times. If most of the population do not have a problem with something then leave it be.If the odd few over the top head case's have a problem with something then let them get over it and let the rest of us get on with life blissfully not thinking there is any problem.

With the way things are with speedway these days Orlov we are lucky to have a stadium let alone a new one.So look on the positive side we will both be sitting/standing in a new stadium and both of us should feel very lucky we are living in clover towards a lot of our other speedway friends who could/have lost their stadium forever. As long as we have a stadium to watch our speedway in every thing is good.

That works as long as no more than 3 coach loads of Poole fans want to go.

Yes both Poole's Poles have averages and Drozdz has to be assessed fair enough but if most fans including yourself think that both Pooles Poles are better than Drozdz.Then why can't the powers that be see this and assess him lower than the 2 better Poles.It makes it that Belle vue are having to take more of a risk because with Drozdz assessed on a 5 they have had to sign a weaker reserve because of it.Making them a weaker team overall. So without being a blinkered Poole fan does that seem fair to you.All speedway fans want is fair play for everyone but the powers that be do not seem to have the common sense to give us that,and it is one of many reasons that fans get pd off with the sport.

Nothing to do with what clubs can and cannot afford.Its the fact that you yourself and most other fans think that Poole's 2 Poles are better than Drozdz yet the powers that be have given Drozdz a higher average than Poole's 2 Poles.If both Poole riders are better riders then in all fairness Drozdz should have been assessed lower that's what is wrong with the sport no matter what clubs the riders sign for.

Yet he starts on a higher average than both Poole's Poles.Makes you realise that there is something not quite right about our beloved sport does it not.

Welcome to Belle vue Damian. Mixed feelings, Damian for me is the key to the team if he settles and does well in the Premier league we will do well if he struggles then so could the team so he is a big gamble.He should do ok at Belle vue but his away form could be a problem.On top of that with this team the new reserve will have to do a lot lot better than Smith to justify the swap in the minds of a good few Aces fans. The safer way I m o would have been to keep Smith who was improving towards the end of last season and signed a rider like Hougaard/L Bjerre etc giving us a very strong top 5 and a strong reserve in Bewley and let Smith keep improving as the season went on. A move that could possibly be made if things go wrong but then the new reserve will lose out as well time will tell. Lets hope the management know more than I do as in this case I would love to be proved wrong.

Sadly the same can be said about everything leisure costs a fortune these days.A few years later as an apprentice my take home pay was £10.06 a week a pint of beer was 10p so I could(not that I did) buy 100 pints with my wage.Now a pint is approx £3.00 how many apprentices take home £300.00 pounds a week. Again a few years later on full money married buying a house etc I went to football on Saturday afternoon and speedway at night and could afford both no problem.As the years have passed and my money became worthless I could not afford to do both so I had to choose I picked speedway it would seem most others stayed with football. And there lies the problem people can't afford to spend as much on leisure because it and everything else cost so bloody much and your wage goes nowhere these days.As with me a lot of people cannot do everything they want to do and have to pick and choose and it would seem speedway is lower down on peoples list than other things and in my opinion is a big reason why speedway is struggling these days.

Can't say re 1975 but in 1972 I remember at Belle vue the prices were 15p for a child 30p for an adult and 6p for a prog.2 buses there and 2 buses back at 2p a trip total 29p out of my 50p a week spends with 12 of us going every week happy days sad to say I am the only one of the group who still goes.

Did not have a go at Poole.Just said the person working out the averages has no common sense.If you think that 2 better riders should have a lower average then you are in the same boat. Drodz going off the better Poles averages should imo have been assessed at 4 no matter what team he rides for

Not just because its my team but if Drodz is assessed at 5 and Woryna and Szczpaniak who in Poland are both better riders are allowed keep their old averages. Which for both is lower than Drodz. Even though they have both improved since they last rode here and both have had a stint riding on British tracks and have more idea about what to expect set ups,different shale etc. Then I have to ask has the person working out riders averages got any common sense at all. All any of us fans want is fair play for all.

Is a rider on the downward path worth a substantial figure it would seam that his best days have gone.It would be a gamble for any club to pay a large fee in hope he can regain some of his old form next year. As his form by his past standards have this year been down everywhere.I cant see a promoter anywhere willing to take the gamble and pay out big money for him.Loan yes worth a risk for a year.

3.25 or 3.36 if Bewley gets a reduction will not get you a reserve that is that much better than Smith. Hougaard(B V asset) or L Bjerre and Smith is the stronger choice I can't see Riss coming any cheaper than those two and Smith has a lot of potential to improve and has become a fans favourite leaving him out would leave a good few fan disappointed.

yet you will pay £16 to watch Lambert,Grondal and Ostergaard as a heat leader.

So while all the other teams are filling up their team places riders like Fricke and Bewley are just waiting to see if Belle vue can afford to have them back next year and could end up with no team place.Those two would be snapped up in an instant if they got fed up with waiting and said they were interested in a team place by most other clubs.If they are waiting for the TV deal they are playing a dangerous game after the last few years if they field a poor side the crowds would drop big time.
