Buster should have told Harris he's no longer a heat leader in this league and not Bjerre.

Poole vs BV. Premiership. 27/06/19

Fair enough re point 2 but what about the main point if a match does not run to its conclusion for no official reason the result is not a true result and can affect other clubs etc. -

Sorry speaking as a speedway fan and not a Belle vue fan. Fair enough to call time on a meeting if there is an official curfew and the club has no choice but if there is not then to me no club/ref should have the power to make their own rules up on the night and just call any match not just this one at a certain time because for whatever reason it suits them. Two reasons why it is wrong, if speedway is supposed to be a professional sport then the only way to get a true result is to run the meeting to its conclusion it not only affects the 2 teams racing but other teams as well as with it being a league match the result could affect another teams place in the league table and possibly be the cause of another team not reaching the play offs. The other reason is the fans, everyone has paid to watch 15 heats of speedway so if a meeting is called for no official reason then to me the fans have been robbed of 3 heats of speedway everyone then has a choice to stay and watch or leave its then their choice as it should be. Only my opinion but its things like this that to me make our sport look very unprofessional. -

You might well smile spiderman but if my teams top 5 only scored 19 points between them at Kings lynn I would be a lot more worried about my teams away form. -

Its a fine line in speedway a fully fit Bewley and Lidsey(also give him time to get used to U K tracks) should at least have scored 4 between them and that would have got us a point if we do that at every away meeting I will be very happy and we will be in the play offs. -
Only my opinion. I watch every Swedish speedway match on freesport and every home meeting at the NSS but despite all the big name riders in the Swedish league the racing in most of the meetings I see is not a patch on the racing i see at the NSS with so called lesser riders. Is it just me or does anyone agree ?.

Peterborough v Belle Vue PSC - Mon 1st April
B.V 72 replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think we( Belle vue )do potentially have a good side looking at Mondays meeting Bewley and Wells scored 1 point between them but still early days yet, more so for Bewley.Their last visits to Peterborough last season Bewley scored 15 and Wells scored 12 guesting for you so yes as the season progresses I think we could beat your present team by a lot more. But every meeting is different so who knows.Best of luck to you finding a new heat leader its what your team needs and will make a big difference on track. -

I wonder if buster still thinks that Kenny is no longer a heat leader in this league lol. -
Just seen my first speedway races from Redcar via video and really enjoyed them looks to be a cracking little track you have up there.
-
Of course it will be more competitive.Take a look at the Witches team from last year towards this years team 6 of them would be classed as Championship heat leaders all riding for the same team. The same with most other teams plus a good few higher classed riders as well so most races the witches fans will see this year would last year have been all heat leader clashes so it has to be a better class and more competitive season of speedway than last year.

With Harris in the team no problem but with Tungate in the team as a Belle vue fan that makes me a little worried for your visits to the NSS.

Time British Speedway went AMATEUR
B.V 72 replied to TonyMac's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I have no answers to how to solve speedways problems and it breaks my heart to see the sport I love dying before my eyes.I read these threads in hope that someone will come up with some great idea that will benefit the sport but up to now I have read the odd snippet of an idea that I think may help the sport a little but nothing as a whole that i m o might help the sport back on its feet The current popular idea on here is low cost amateur speedway but don't we or near as damit already have this option now in National league speedway.I am lucky enough to have both options at Belle vue and I have a season ticket for both, now I enjoy both but if you ask me to give one up it would be the National league as the Prem league provides far better racing overall and I would choose to pay double the price because it is a far better product even now in its watered down state. So my point is that the option of both Prem and Nat league/cheap speedway is there for every Belle vue fan now. But the Aces the double in price product still gets a crowd five to six times larger than the Colts. So is amateur/cheap speedway the answer to save British speedway I think not as the answer is already here dispite the more affordable/cheap option already being available a massive percentage of Belle vue fans still choose to pay the much higher price for Prem league speedway. I am not saying every thing is fine the way it is and I m o Belle vue still do not have enough Prem league fans to maintain the sport for long in Manchester. All i am saying is that there are far more fans that have no interest in lower class /cheap speedway than Prem league speedway. So to me going amateur will not help keep speedway running in Manchester. Sadly my thoughts are now to enjoy every speedway meeting I can while I can,and hope that the economy improves so that people can afford to go to speedway every week again instead of just turning up for bank holiday and playoff meetings.Because the fans are still out there but a lot of them have far less disposable income than they have had in the past and they have to pick and choose what they spend it on they can no longer do it all and it would seem speedway is well down on most peoples list of what to spend it on.This is to me the main cause of speedways problems and while it continues no mater what they do speedway will stay in big trouble and we all have to keep our fingers crossed that our own club is one of the clubs that can survive. -
Gutted for you all, the riders signed and British speedway.I don't think you will be on your own over the next few years. I don't think there is a club in the land that can rest easy the way things are my mind set is that I am just going to enjoy it while/if it lasts and get as many meetings in as I can. All I can add is that you went out in a BLAZE OF GLORY with a season long to remember.
-
Fair enough we all have our own way of thinking but if I were you I would just enjoy the speedway I still love and leave Kings lynns problems behind me and forget about the place there are plenty of other threads where you can enjoy speaking about speedway.Again this is just how I would deal with things we are all different enjoy your speedway all the best.

Nothing is perfect Sidney and speedway is far from it.I have a good moan on here every now and then as we all do. But my point is that we and others still find enjoyment in the sport and attend meetings.Whats not to like about the racing I see every meeting at the NSS,i to love to watch the young riders improve I watch all the Colts meetings as well and I am very much looking forward to watch Lidsey ride next season and that's why I come on a speedway forum to read and talk speedway.because I still have an interest in the sport There is much wrong with our sport but I still enjoy the bare bones of the sport the racing and if I ever get so disillusioned with the sport and it Pee's me of that much that I no longer enjoy any of it I will just walk away and find another interest and you will never here me moaning on about why I fell out with the sport on here I will just find pastures new and leave the forum for people who still enjoy speedway to talk about speedway no one wants to be bored to death reading about the reasons why I will have fell out with the sport people will form their own opinions without any help from me.Plus I will be busy doing something new.
-
Sorry to but into the Lynn thread. But I have to say I can understand that people can lose their love/ interest in anything for whatever reason. But what I cannot understand is if you have lost your love /interest in anything in this case speedway why o why do you need to come on a speedway forum and even watch it on tv (a GP goes on for three and a half hours with only seven extra heats). I lost love/interest in my first wife I do not stalk her on face book etc I have had no contact in 25 years and I moved on and re married.I lost interest in football I could not tell you the name of anyone who now plays for my ex team and I do not watch it on tv my interest is now with speedway.I have moved jobs a few times over the years I have no idea how my ex companys are doing I have no interest I concentrate on my new job and how my new company is doing. All I am saying is that you have to move on in life find new love/interests and enjoy them and leave the past behind I think you will find life's a happier place.

Phew, thank goodness for that, head in a better place now.

How good is Lidsey. For Belle vue to be prepared to leave out Bjerre for a rider with potential and run with only 2 heat leaders I m o is madness. With the added worry of what form Bewley and Worrall will be in next season after their bad injurys this year.If this is the case and we leave out both Cook and Tungate for 2 second strings it could be a long season.

There was nothing wrong with the league the way it was, it was doing its job producing some great racing to watch and producing a good number of riders good enougth to move up to the championship league. It was also giving the paying public value for money with a mix of riders good enough to produce some quality speedway racing and the chance to watch youngsters improve over the season a perfect mix to get me to part with my money.I have bought a season ticket every year for the Colts but next year I will not be doing so I will go to a few meetings and then form an opinion if the product on show is good enough for me to part with my money. My worries are. The Colts have already lost Smith and Perry next year who produced some quality/great racing round the NSS who is going to do this next year. I don't know but say we keep Bickley as our number 1 we might see some great races against the opposing teams number 1 but in his other races there is a good chance that he will be riding on his own well in front of the other riders in the race, this I have no interest in watching.(Will others ?.) The more talented youngsters improve very fast (Bewley,Kemp etc) and at some stage in the year to improve further need to ride against better riders there wont be many of them around to do this. The way it is now a rider that ends the season with a high average is a good indication that he is ready to be given a chance in the Champ league.Next season will this be the case a rider that ends up with a high average will he be good enough/ready to be given a chance as this average will have been achived by racing against less talented riders. We may lose a good few talented riders who cant or are not quite ready to get a Champ league place but who's average is to high to get a team place in the Nat league Some of the riders that get a Champ league place spot may still need to race Nat league to help them improve further and keep their confidence up if they are finding it hard in the Champ league. My biggest worry is yes the National league is a development league but for people to pay their money(for some teams its not much less than the higher leagues) and turn up you have to give them a product that will give them value for money and entertain them ie good speedway racing. For me the product next year from seasons past looks like its going to be a lot poorer than previous seasons. As I say I will give it a try but if I am disappointed I am lucky I can just go back to just watching the Aces. But to me these changes could cause the sport to lose even more supporters when to me the product was fine and needed no changes what so ever. I have a few other reasons going round in my head but the above reasons above should get my point of view across.but to me its just another worry for the future of the sport I love.

As a supporter of a championship club (fingers crossed for your club)I would not harp on about Prem class riders riding in the champ league. They are only there for the extra money. Before this crazy doubleing up most of them would have moved up to the prem league already, and if they do stop it next year most of them will choose to ride in the prem league, for most clubs better wages tougher races for their improvment etc.Which would leave the champ league short of most of its major talent and I think that would inc Bewley and Klindt. The way it should be really and the way it was for many years before the dreaded doubling up which has damaged the sport big time.
