  1. Can’t remember what heat it was, but there was one ride mid meeting where he was under severe pressure and he was constantly looking behind him, but then suddenly completely changed his line and cut off an attack instantly. Very intelligent ride.
  2. Looking forward to this seems an age since the last meeting! Should be a good battle.
  3. That part of the preview hasn’t been changed from Tuesday, the first part of the preview had Starke OR R/R if he doesn’t make it, and that part has been updated today to state he’s out and it’s R/R.
  4. This. They nicked a point last time out when Doyle was under the weather and we didn’t put him in heat 15. We actually looked like we were going to disappear in to the distance mid meeting but they battled back well to be fair. Have to make sure we win the meetings with Riss at reserve and make the most of it, think it’s just this one and Sheffield left before he moves up again.

  6. Sitting in my local and spotted these on the wall. Them were the days!!
  7. But there’s a massive difference there. When I go on a Thursday evening, there’s seven Witches donned in their Witches team suits representing my home town team. Who cares who else they ride for?? I don’t. Danyon Hume rode for Glasgow last night and rode very well, but to me he’s a Witch riding for someone else.
  8. Continuing to bang this drum I see, has Starke been banging your missus or something? R/R didn’t “work wonders” for Ipswich last night as you’ve already been told. R/R scored 7 points last night, exactly the same total he scored at the same track (one of his best tracks btw) a few weeks back. And tonight, R/R again accrued 7 points, so how has R/R struck again? You saying Starke isn’t capable of scoring 7 points in the championship? He scored more than that in every single one of Newcastles home meetings before they sadly closed! Stop talking utter horse sh!t.
  9. A pairs event, and individual meetings come to that, don’t really interest me no matter who is riding. I just prefer team speedway that’s it really.
  10. Makes no difference considering his points included beating Becker (twice) and Nick Morris as well as Thompson and Jorgensen. He actually retired whilst leading in the reserves race! Would have been a double figure score otherwise. Starke rides Wolves very well, always has. I know fans of losing teams always try and find excuses but you’re clutching at straws here.
  11. If my Auntie had b0llocks and all that. Starke scored 7 with two heat wins in our win there earlier in the season, same as what R/R got tonight
  12. Carbon copy of the meeting earlier in the season, SHOULD have been a 4 pointer in both meetings but both times we got 5 one’d in heat 15! Frustrating. But, it’s another win on the road and you’d have to say that should really cement our play off place.
  13. Batch, Barker and the reserves eligible for a ride although it SHOULD be Batch, and 3 rides for Riss you’d imagine. Certainly makes us stronger and we need to capitalise.
  14. No, that was a quote from Hawkins straight after Sheffield last week saying Barker “has another week off”, as in another 7 days before tonight’s meeting at Wolves.
  15. “Danny’s crash was a bit of a turning point in the meeting. I think he’ll be okay, but there was a big interval, a big hold-up whilst they were trying to fix the fence after the crash, whereas I think if we’d been able to get straight on with it, he would probably have carried on. “But the adrenaline dies, and I think it was the right decision for him to pull out, and he lives to fight another day.“ Looks as though he’ll be fine. As for the points limit, it’s almost as if we don’t wanna win it! I know that’s obviously not the case, but hugely frustrating.
  16. What a load of boll0cks you’ve just spouted.
  17. Hawkins seems to think Barker will be back for Wolves next Monday so that’s good news. Let’s just hope he’s fit and not attempting to ride through the pain barrier as that will help nobody.
  18. Knives out for Batch again I see. His average is 6.27 for this season, what were people expecting? He started the season as a five and a half pointer, if people thought he was suddenly going to jump to being an 8 pointer again then you’re deluded. He’s doing his job, although he was dreadful last night granted. The problem is with this team and this is a hill I’m going to die on, is that it was built over 2 points under the limit which meant we were always going to carry a rider in the 1-5 which shouldn’t have happened. I like Starke, but he’s a reserve and has never sustained any kind of form in the main body. But when you then sign a Heeps/Barker instead of a 7 pointer you’re always going to have two riders swapping places at reserve all season with one of them then struggling in the main body. With Doyle in the side this was the year we should have put our title drought to bed, we still might! But we should have given ourselves a better chance than we have.
