  1. Foxhall nowhere near as tight as Monmore these days. Speaking to an ex Witches rider a few weeks back, compared to the old circuit Foxhall is now “very easy to get around”. Whether that’s a good thing or bad thing from an Ipswich perspective is up for debate, but it’s a fact that a large number of riders used to be beaten before they’d even got to Foxhall and some weren’t prepared to even give it a go because of how narrow and tight it was. On the flip side you had top riders who loved it. Nielsen and Crump used to name it as their favourite track.
  2. Did I just see Zmarzlik blow his nose in a rag, and then wipe said rag all over his face? Lol
  3. Feel for King, it isn’t just tonight he hasn’t been on it all season. Need to support him though because he’s a damn good rider at this level. On another note, what a class act Doyle is. Dragged us out of a hole more than once. Is there another rider around that’s not just as good as him, but gives his all every time in our country? Worth his weight in gold this fella.
  4. Should give Barker first R/R in heat 1, give him a sighter ready for heat 2. Save Batch and Riss for later in the evening.
  5. Should be a healthy crowd tomorrow I’d expect. Bank holiday so most people not working, weather forecast looks great for tomorrow with wall to wall sunshine, and the old enemy back in town. Both teams in decent form and going well so expect a fair few from Lynn will come down as well. Looking forward to it.
  6. Panthers need a change or two otherwise they’ll be out of contention in record time. Problem being there’s very few options left in this country that could make a difference. Getting riders in from Europe can be pricey, will Buster splash the cash?
  7. Agree. Especially considering his current daft average which makes an adequate replacement pretty much impossible. 2 meetings in a week he’s missed now which is annoying to say the least.
  8. I think we win either way personally. Although Lynn for a point if Starke rides which I hope he doesn’t to be honest.
  9. Starke is considered “doubtful” at the moment. “It was a really busy night for me, a lot of it taken up by trying to manage Paul’s injury and trying to spread his races out so that it didn’t put too much strain on him. Whilst he put in an exceptional shift, I know he was in immense pain so we had to manage that the best we could. It was one ride too many in the end which resulted in him getting passed and then crashing but he did a superb job for the team tonight.“ This was from Hawkins after the meeting last week. He’s really struggling with his wrist and crashing again didn’t help. He needs to rest up really because it won’t do either him or the team any good to try and ride through it. We’re already carrying Barker, can’t be carrying two riders.
  10. Crikey an absolute stinker from Sheffield. Impressive from Wolves.
  11. Starke is at 2, Riss finally moves away from 2 and teams up with King at 3 and 4, Batch at 5. Barker as expected drops to reserve. https://ipswichwitches.co/raceday-preview-kings-lynn-premiership-h/ Interesting set of averages there! Starke is a doubt with his wrist injury, so with these bizarre looking new averages, Batch, Riss, Barker and Hume can take a R/R which in all likelihood strengthens us.
  12. Well done boys! Got away with one there but fantastic under the circumstances.
  13. Reading some of the Poole fans’ comments Badge, seems he hasn’t been quite on it this year for them either? Maybe Lisa will tell us more on that. I know when he came to see us after the meeting a few weeks back he had an ice pack on his wrist and he’s currently struggling a bit with an injury.
  14. Was for Swindon, the track suited him and his style. Foxhall not so much. Surprised though that someone else hasn’t took him on like a Sheffield for example. Maybe he’s happy giving Britain a miss these days. On a good average now mind.
  15. Lovely rider, average too high for one change unfortunately. Would have to be another double change. We missed the boat with him. Many years ago he was very good friends with Heeps (still is) and he was touted for a ride here but we never took the plunge.
  16. Just got to hope Starke is fit enough to make a difference here because he really does make a difference for us. If we’re going to get away with one here then it’s the reserves that will pull us through as that’s one area of this Wolves team that we should be dominating. Hopefully Hume resumes where he left off against Sheffield. Doyle won’t have it all his own way either as we know Masters loves Foxhall and goes really well here, as do a few of the others in Wolves’ top 5. Tough meeting.
  17. I don’t possess a vast array of contacts like an ex rider and current promoter SHOULD have, but even a quick look on updates throws out a number of interesting looking names. Under 21 qualifiers https://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/20856/qualifiers-07-05-2022 Kevin Juhl Pedersen? Daniel Kilma? Maeusz Cierniak, Jan Kvech, Casper Henriksson, Jonas Knudsen, Petr Chlupac, Francis Gusts, etc etc. Why not roll the dice and see if you can unearth a diamond? We never seem to do this anymore. I’m not saying any of these would immediately come in and set the world alight, but there’s clearly talented young riders out there who haven’t all yet got the big gigs in Poland. Surely one could be found that is up for it? I wasn’t totally against Krystian Pieszczek as some were on here either. I thought he was pretty useful in the middle order and was pretty harshly axed imo.
  18. Never understood this kind of question and it often pops up on this forum. Obviously I have no idea, how could I possibly know that? Daft question that’s absolutely impossible to answer.
  19. We didn’t need someone of Klindts scoring ability though, we just needed a half decent middle order rider to replace Heeps who was contributing nothing. With over 7 points available, was there seriously no rider throughout the whole of Europe who could have come in and been a better bet than Heeps or journeyman Ben Barker?
  20. My gripe is with Chris Louis’ statement in the press release. He “ briefly“ looked in to the European market for one particular rider but he was too expensive so quickly looked closer to home and Barker was the “obvious choice”. Why briefly? Why not have an extensive look around Europe and try and find some talent or was that too much effort? I don’t think for one minute it’s easy finding a suitable rider but at least make the effort. Barker was such a lazy lazy signing. Louis was right about one thing, he was definitely the “obvious choice” and that’s my issue with the signing. People on here were putting Barker’s name forward for weeks before he signed.
  21. 7.06 available and we came up with Ben Barker. Terrific stuff.
