Ipswich v Peterborough LC
Arch Stanton replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Starke has started quite brightly too in the championship. King doesn’t seem quite himself so far with a few issues. Very very early days though and things can click very quickly. -
Weather set fair so should be good to go. Home win

Peterborough v Ipswich April 4th

Nope, certainly not on the average he was coming in on that’s for certain. Just ran out of ideas in the end and they were alerted to his availability when it looked like he was going to Peterborough. -

Hasn’t always been the case, but in recent seasons we can’t use lack of resources for failing either. We’re backed well by Guy Nicholls, we apparently paid a kings ransom to Crump, have stumped up the cash for Doyle this year and by all accounts blew Belle Vue out of the water to pinch Batch at the 11th hour. Not sure there’s a better backed club in the top flight at the moment. If we continue the trophy drought, then Louis has to take the blame because he’s the one who builds the teams it’s as simple as that really. Haven’t landed a major trophy on his watch to date in either league, poor record. -

King's Lynn v Ipswich. League Cup 7/4/22

Not these days we don’t you’re right. Even with a sparse fixture list in recent years we still haven’t thrown in an individual like we used to. -

None that seem obvious, but there’s hundreds of riders around Europe. Lemon has struggled to find someone suitable at Belle Vue, but he’s looking for a heatleader. We don’t need world beaters to improve riders at the bottom end of the side. Who’d heard of Basso before Poole brought him in last year? Not many I’d imagine. -

Wouldn’t be a bit surprised if one or two Ipswich riders are on trial in these cup matches. Show little improvement on last years poor form then on to plan B for the league meetings. Still have points to play with as well. -

Yep good start from him and everyone else chipped in bar Rowe. Tough place to go and Peterborough look solid all the way through the team. Early days.. -

A fit Doyle makes a big difference to be fair. The others bar Rowe all contributed. -

Lynn fans will probably tell you more accurately Baldy, but he seems to be more of a white line rider when I’ve seen him -
Slight tweak to Witches riding order, Heeps moves to 2 and Riss partners Batchelor at 3 and 4.

Brass monkeys out there alright! Supposed to be pretty windy today too so factor in the wind chill and it’ll be pretty painful standing around tonight. Please just crack on with it and don’t pi$$ about with a bloody interval.. -

I plumped for a season ticket literally right on the last day they were available as they seemed decent value this year. If I hadn’t, then I’m not sure I’d be going tomorrow either.. -

Probably see double figures from Worrall at reserve as well I’d have thought. So handy having a really strong reserve and Lynn have one. That alone should keep the score pretty close. Glad Lynn have signed Iversen too, should be a good battle between him and Doyle. All eyes on Batchelor, wonder which version we’re getting? -

So very sorry for your loss, RIP to your wife. -
He’s definitely that as well! Despite seemingly having the world at his feet at such a young age, think we’ve gone past the stage where we can expect anything more than a good middle order rider. He hasn’t shown that he’s consistent enough or good enough, to be challenging for the number 1 spot in the team and odds are he probably never will. But every team has a Cam in them, and I’d rather have one that entertains like he does. I still think he’s a good sensible signing for us on his average and I still maintain he’ll put a point minimum on his starting figure. Because of his liking of Foxhall, he’s a far better signing for us than he would have been for anyone else put it that way.
