  1. No idea what that speedway star article was all about then! Can someone get Louis a calculator for Christmas please, his appears to be broken!!
  2. Bit bizarre to name all 6, and then leave yourself no wiggle room by having to find a rider with the points you have left. So is it Batchelor or Riss announced in the morning..
  3. Interestingly in the speedway star, they say the club will announce one more signing Thursday morning, which will leave the club needing one more to complete the team. So perhaps we may still get closer to the limit after all.
  4. Bit of a difference though isn’t there? Crump was assessed after how many years out? Batchelor achieved his near 9 average season before last and isn’t 46.
  5. Has to be doesn’t it? Although I was told Riss was a certainty
  6. There was a few like that. Everyone is different and handles things in different ways. We know Cook was another that really struggled getting back in to it after the year off. Could have had a factor in plenty of others who had poor seasons as well
  7. You have to remember Batchelor started the season on 8.82. You’d have to be completely bonkers not to want him in your side on 5 and a half whether you like him or not. That 8.82 was riding with Doyle as well, so hopefully having his mate back in the pits will help him push that average back upwards. Even if he doesn’t hit those heights again, there’s a point increase there at the absolute minimum.
  8. They could you’re right, they’re both good signings because of the average they’ll be coming in on. Those two aren’t the issue. But then why sign either Starke or Heeps with just under 2 points still to play with? They’ve effectively put Hawkins’ best mate back in at the expense of Craig Cook. Yes, I know Cook isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and there are fans who dislike the bloke, but if you’re building a side to win stuff, who in their right mind would choose Cameron Heeps over Craig Cook? I don’t have a big issue with Heeps either, I know some don’t want him, but he’s another that will increase his starting average (IMO). But then why sign Paul Starke? Nothing against the fella either, but if you’re finding a spot for Heeps then at least use the points available and find a 6 pointer instead of Starke and get Heeps down at reserve!
  9. 1.89 under the limit if the final 2 are Batchelor and Riss..
  10. No idea what happened to Riss this season but he’s far better than his current average.
  11. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Holder senior at Belle Vue.
  12. Cook for Heeps? Doyle Doyle’s mate Cook (sorry Taps) Riss King Starke By my calculations comes to 38.83..
  13. As he says on the official site, he was a 6 pointer at one point during the season before injury struck! Got a feeling he’ll be a real trump card.
  14. That won’t be taken advantage of though if the team is the rumoured one!
  15. Doyle 8.96 King 7.96 Heeps 5.10 Riss 5.26 ? Starke 4.58 Rowe * That leaves 7.14, plus whatever reductions. That means either the rider we’ve been heavily rumoured to have signed in the last few days has fell through, or we haven’t signed either Riss or Heeps which the strong rumours indicated we had! We surely haven’t built a couple of points under??
  16. Paul Starke and Anders Rowe as the rising star confirmed. That’s confused me a little I must admit..
  17. Again, I never once said you did. You clearly haven’t read what I’ve said properly. Ahh there we go. Time for bed sunshine.
  18. Stop getting all defensive, I’m not disputing what you heard or what you’ve said. I’m simply saying there is a contradiction to what you’ve heard this evening, to what has been quoted on the official site. The official site can’t put a “positive spin” on it, as they’ve quoted him. He either said what’s on the site or he didn’t. Had his best away score at Wolves this year and seems to go well there, so seems a good fit, despite either liking or disliking The track.
  19. Well yes I know, never said I didn’t believe you, but a slight contradiction to what is quoted on the official site don’t you think?
  20. “The Wolves track is somewhere that I like and that started when I had a handful of meetings riding for Cradley there in 2018.“I know it’s a completely different level, but I still won plenty of races around there and it’s somewhere I always turn up feeling pretty confident that I’m going to do well.“I had a couple of good scores there for Ipswich this year too and I’m really looking forward to that being my home track in the Premiership.” Slight contradiction there? http://www.wolverhampton-speedway.com/news.php?extend.3441
  21. Rowe looked top top class early part of the season and was on fire, even though he was still carrying a leg injury. He then came a cropper (at Wolves?) and aggravated that injury to the point it pretty much ruined his season. Will be very interesting to see how he fares next year when hopefully injury free. Sorry to the Wolves fans for going off topic. Hopefully Kemp cracks on and has a good season.
