  1. and how many pages are to be added to the SS in order each team's fans can use one of them for their home meeting and chuck the rest away. Absolute madness. Printed ahead of the guests being booked as well, and for which missing rider.
  2. Must admit there is some great teams, and more equal than I have seen before. There was always 2 or 3 who didn't try to get the best team for their own reasons but this year, i think practically every team has made the effort, and the result will be some exciting meetings and close racing. It will be interesting to compare the fortunes of the top heavy side against the stronger reserves side scenarios. Hope injuries don't decide anything but give us a close run league with many teams still in it for the playoffs. Not disappointed the Championship is down to 10 teams especially as, for the good of speedway, a couple of sides have went up to bolster up the Premiers League. All in all, i think we are in for a cracking season, and I hope it brings back some old and new fans to see it. The averages and match formats have been cleaned up, and things are very much more stable for future developments. Bring it on.
  3. It's a useless thought though. By your financial estimates, you have to have 4 more readers for everyone that buys it at the moment, and that is just to stand still. Don't try and run a business. please.
  4. Pleased to hear him say all the right things. I like him after seeing him in BYC training, and could easily have joined Newcastle with knowing Lewis. Will watch his progress and wish him well.
  5. Barker won't phase Kevin. Garrity is a different case, and Kevin might have even known him before he signed.
  6. Didn't work in the then Premiership League in 1997. The year we joined.
  7. And did Chris not say a couple of weeks ago, that he was going to do long track this next year, and that runs on a Sunday. Is he still grass tracking ?
  8. She'd probably say "not you again". The averages put up on the opening item above this thread gives the averages as follows. Lambert 8.70 Steve 8.47 Ludde 7.69 Rose 6.12 Ash 4.98 Connor 2.00 Danny 2.00 39.96 (0.04) Hope that helps.
  9. Ha Ha. Despite what Newcastle Speedway posts on this subject, it really is to protect others interests. It is broadcast over the tannoy during the meeting, but there are stacks of fans who still take odd shots, especially as the riders having been interviewed as a team after heat 15 are encouraged to mix with the fans and have private pictures taken. Mrs Lambert films her sons every ride, presumably for analysis and scrapbook, my juniors are always being filmed and their races are posted on Facebook every week. So it can be seen it is not enforced strictly, but the stance has to be made to deter the outside photographers becoming a problem, and more importantly stop the introduction of apps like Periscope which is live update for non attendees. That will never be allowed. On request, fan photographers have been invited to shoot pre meeting in the pits, and also shadow our own resident photographer Steve Brock and receive advice and instructions.
  10. Weather very kind to us today. With the completion of all the office complex work today, the place is looking smart as a dart. At the sometime the team stripped the air fence panels off and put them away in storage till the outside track is cut to received the fence back onto the permanent fence. Thanks to everyone who contributed and a big job done, way quicker than i had anticipated. Restart after Xmas. Dave R
  11. Site does show we are only 0.04 under the 40 limit.
  12. Anybody who thinks every punter, that attends and event/activity where they have to pay to go/attend and should not be liable to accept reasonable rules set out and published by the event owner. Children, business and the likes need protection. Could be you !!!
  13. Bring a friend has a far better chance of getting a real supporter of the sport, that presentations, leaflets, Meeting vouchers, advertising, etc, but you still have to do it just in case.
  14. Yes, it is still a very important building block to a child's education. With reading, and understanding, how does the child acquire and seek knowledge and satisfy their curiosity without being able to read. My wife is a volunteer Childrens assistant at our local early school, and takes care of the poor readers age 6 or 7. It is obvious the some get no encouragement at home and have to be shown how to get into reading, and getting them excited about mastering reading and understanding. Interesting contrast sometimes when taking on siblings of previous children she has had. She only takes the worst children and loves to see the child change and enjoy what they are doing.
  15. You obviously haven't watched Busch. Brandford is near his max now IMO, but Busch, after a slowish start, has shown he can be a very good rider once he rides consistently.
  16. He was filming video in opposition to the company who owned the rights to film the event. Try doing that at Football, ice hockey, the cinema or local strip show. Only one person around here is draconian.
  17. It's a business. Yes, caught and banned. And that was before the new guidelines.
  18. Great gater, but can't hold the lead. Ex MotorXer. I tried to get him to come to Newcastle about 3 years ago when he switched codes. Thought he would have been better by now.
  19. Sorry I thought they are the the Prowlers. thanks for the correction. They were a cracking side with young kids developing together. Incidently, both Ollie and Simon nearly joined the Diamonds in about 1998 on loan, but that's a story for some other time. They never knew.
  20. A perfect description of ourself when any random idea that you push is doubted or not agreed with. I give you again your incredible idea and attempted justification for the introduction of concrete start pads. Vince summarised perfectly the technical issues with their use yet you refused to accept any of it being rather dismissive they we are not falling over ourselves to back your stupid idea. As i said earlier, you are a typical case of someone who has come back to the sport and apparently enjoyed it, before then using your attendance to justify returning to it to something it used to be, albeit 50 years ago.
  21. The Swindon stadium yes, but its hardly the time to summarise anything with BV or Leicester, whilst they are still being resurrected. i think Philip has said all will come out about the happenings at BV, and rightly so.
