I really hope Hall is 'in on it' and can swoop round the boards a few times. He certainly helped the Rebels out at the Best Pairs with a last bend swoop which enabled Wrighty and Doyle to progress so hopefully he can do the same at the EWR. Maybe Hall is a good omen for the Rebels.
Scunny rode well tonight and now look clear favourites. However at least the Rebels have a lead to defend and if they remember to take their gating boots with them on Sunday and use the tacticals effectively (if needed) then this tie is still in the balance.
Congrats to the Rebels who kept their nerve in the end. Its easy to knock James Wright but we need him to pick himself up tomorrow night which I am sure he will.
Shame Bjerre (7.31) is missing on Friday. Would have been interesting if the Lions had been allowed Sam Masters (7.44) as a guest but sadly his average is slightly higher.
Just heard from the track that Alex is not riding tonight. He is still recovering from concusion and should be fit for the next home match on the 28th.
The Rebels will operate R/R so hopefully Kyle and Tom will be in good form tonight so that we can take a decent lead up North.
Should be a comfortable win for the Rebels as the Comets are considerably weakened. Looking forward to the play offs and league cup SF where we get to the business side of the season and the fixtures become more meaningful.
As predicted the toothless Tigers were completely mauled. Great to see Alex step up just in time for the play offs. Some good racing despite the one sided scoreline.
Should be a big win for the Rebels. The Tigers in past seasons have done well at the OTA but have assembled a 'mediocre' team this season without much firepower. However hope there is some good racing.
Interesting move to drop Masters but probably the best one as he has not impressed this year and will miss some matches. However I hope Vissing can start scoring points soon after his injury lay off.
A good win for the Rebels last night despite three regulars missing. Aspregren had the last laugh with a couple of stunning 'round the boards' wins. However I get the feeling that this could be the year that Somerset win the pairs. Wrighty is in his best form at home and with the prolific Doyle could pull it off.
