  1. Get your CV in Alan, brilliant use of the tactical rules, take a bow sir.
  2. Bit oversensitive there if you don't mind me saying Neil. The way I saw it he was using Tatum as an alternative to Screen or Havvy ey al, he's right as well imo. But you probably knew that eh...
  3. Bryan Robson didn't have the likes of twitter at his disposal, he may well have "had a go". Anyway, heat 13, lets give him a chance. Well there you go, happy now?
  4. I take it you're not a fan of GB then.. Can't believe the attitude of some on here, I despise Manchester united but when Bryan Robson pulled on an England shirt he was one of my own. Why not give these lads a chance, the meeting is half done, we're in with a good shout if we can have a little bit of good fortune to compensate for Harris kill switch.
  5. Glad to have given you something to look forward to, must be great being you.
  6. Exactly Alan, an entertaining meeting is all we can hope for, the result could be a bonus, I hope so.
  7. You're being a bit too quick to bash him, we're not even half way through the meeting, he may well end up being the one who clinches our place, then again maybe not. Either way I'll be supporting my team, some on here should give that a try instead of bashing after 5 races. Only saying.
  8. Give it a chance eh. Great ride by Wells there, under immense pressure, brilliant. Batchelor just did us all a favour there, great meeting so far, Come on GB!!!
  9. Good old NP, "first of all I've got to look after myself". It's a bloody team event Nick lad.
  10. Barker could well get 3 points next time out Use of jokers could be at a premium tonight, great start... Wish I'd gone, looks a great setting.
  11. Back in the room. That bad start just makes for a more exciting meeting I reckon, this could be a cracker.
  12. 6pm according to Eurosport site. King isn't riding because Barker & Bridger have been selected ahead of him. Can I get you a cushion? hth
  13. Agreed but so far it's certainly had the shine taken off it this year, the first 2 meetings haven't exactly inspired, maybe tonights GB victory will light the touchpaper and turn it into another memorable tournament. The venue for tonight and the final isn't exactly a mouthwatering prospect either but you never know....
  14. Thanks for that, was sure they would have rode together at some point, I recall Dag Lovaas was fast, used to get very low on the bends, bit like Dave Gifford in riding style maybe, certainly distinctive. Odd Fossengen, had forgotten all about him Sidney, blue leathers rings a bell with me, could be wrong, did he ride for Poole?
  15. So have we my friend, so have we... Reidar Eide should have been put to stud when he finished riding, you would have a cracking team for many generations, they don't make them like him any more, tough competitor. Just out of interest, did he and Dag Lovas ever get close to an international pairs title? I'm sure they would have made quite a formidable pairing when both on song, surely their careers overlapped while Reidar was still going well, early 70's?
  16. Agreed, well below the usual fare from Saddlebow Rd. The Danes were really powerful and I would expect them to lay down a challenge to the Poles on Saturday. Still plenty to race for in terms of GB progress, no reason why they can't give the Aussies a run for their money on Thursday, I'm feeling cautiously optimistic for our chances.
  17. Initially I felt slightly awkward suggesting it but having seen so many say the same, well.... either that or it was something to do with feedback in his headset, I'm trying to be kind to him really because he came across as though is completely hammered. He's on air in 20mins ffs, should be good. :drink: :drink: :drink:
  18. It would be interesting to know if the same sort of thing occurs in other countries, I find it hard to imagine any Poles behaving in such a way but who knows. I'm too much of a patriot to consider supporting any other county, as far as I'm concerned if you wear the 3 Lions then you are my kind and I'll back you all the way, even Edward Kennett on this occasion
  19. Well I'm only just about here myself, phone keeps ringing, work related so needs answering, seen a couple of heats so far.
  20. Posted in the wrong thread before, so, thanks again Alan, also to MP for the scorecards, much appreciated gents.
  21. Thanks Alan. Thanks also to MP for the scorecard. Diamond geezers.
  22. I'd agree with that, Barker may not win too many heats but he epitomises the 'no last places' mantra used by Phil Morris last night, Barker never gives up and has mixed it with most of the riders he'd be up against if selected, he's only 25, I think, so can still be considered part of the future of British speedway, needs to step up soon though. I also like the passion he shows, riding for his country will, I'm sure, mean a lot to Ben Barker. I've been very impressed with what little I've seen of Worrall but I've read enough comments to believe he has a big future if things continue at the same pace for him.
