  1. The IOW was a consortium of supporters and look how that has ended. Like I say be careful what you wish for.
  2. I did know who you were. Which is nice, if you are contemplating a break (hopefully). Your post is a good one ! Apparently last night was a fire in the electrical station. Hopefully Dave can get that sorted. I know Malcolm still reads the forum. It would be good if Dave did The team needs more supporters like your good self. Stoke supporters are loyal supporters they must be to be able to see their team beaten and still get behind them If it changed would it still be Stoke?. With it's imperfections and all. My main team should be Leicester with it's lovely new stadium and EL team I should be on cloud 9 there but don't get the same cosy feeling as I get at Loomer road. You probably think I'm saying this because of the boy but you ciuldn't be further from the truth I would have a real dilemma if he rode for a different team. Hopefully see you at Perry Bar.
  3. Promoters stick to old school they get slated promoters try to go all progressive and they get slated. I suppose you have to go with what you think and run with it. Vog's comments are sad to say the least and I'm sure he hasn't taken the decision lightly
  4. I disagree I think while there is Dave Tattum there will be speedway at Stoke. He could have pulled the plug years ago but it's still there.
  5. STOKE are back in action on Saturday when they entertain Cradley in the first leg of their National League KO Cup quarter final at Loomer Road, 7pm. The Potters are sweating on the fitness of Lee Payne who missed last nights defeat at Kings Lynn. The Loomer Road club will need to be at their best against last seasons league Champions who have been flying high this season. The Heathens are led by Max Clegg who has been in impressive form this season. The West Midlands club will use rider replacement for Nathan Greaves with Matt Williamson taking the third heat leader role. Luke Harris rides at four with Arron Mogridge son of former Potter Alan completing the top five. At reserve the Heathens have Michael Neale and the impressive Ellis Perks. The Potters give a debut to Paul Burnett who replaces the injured Shaun Tedham. STOKE: Jon Armstrong, Chris Widman, Ryan Terry-Daley, Danny Phillips, Lee Payne, Ryan MacDonald, Paul Burnett CRADLEY: Max Clegg, Arron Mogridge, Matt Williamson, Luke Harris, Nathan Greaves r/r, Michael Neale, Ellis Perk http://www.stokepotters.co/news.php?extend.760
  6. 1st thing he needs to get his head round is ignoring the trolls. Sort that out and you are halfway there. He has probably taken advice off Rob as that is what they were saying about him season before last Best of luck Brendan
  7. Ryan seems ok according to his dad just a few bruises. Shaun less so but being shaun is upbeat about his return as soon as. Ben Hopwood also broke his wrist in ht 15.
  8. Now Sunday 10th 3pm http://www.stokepotters.co/news.php?extend.754 STOKE Easy Rider Potters home meeting against Buxton on Saturday night has been moved back a day to Sunday afternoon with a 3pm start time. With heavy rain in the Potteries on Friday afternoon and evening and with further rain forecast for Saturday Dave Tattum spoke with Buxton counterpart Jayne Moss and hastily rearranged the fixture for Sunday afternoon when the forecast is for drier weather. Potters promoter Dave Tattum explained “With the forecast for the next 24 hours of rain we felt it best to move quickly and rearrange the fixture and give us time to get the track ready. Sunday’s forecast is for it to be dry and with Buxton not having a home fixture on the day it made sense to move the fixture back a day. I’d like to thank Jayne Moss for her co-operation in this and we look forward to seeing some action on Sunday afternoon.
  9. STOKE Easy Rider Potters hope to kick start their home season when they entertain local rivals Buxton in the City Gearboxes National League at Loomer Road on Saturday night, 7pm.The Potters have only managed one home meeting due to the weather but hope that they will finally get on track on Saturday against the Hitmen who have also been hit by the weather recently. The Potters will be at full strength for the clash in which they will be looking to open their league campaign with a victory over their local rivals. The Hitmen have suffered defeats in all three of their opening fixtures losing out at Scunthorpe in a challenge before losing out to Coventry Storm in their opening home meeting of the season and most recently losing out to Kings Lynn Young Stars at the Norfolk Arena. Buxton are led into action by former Potters skipper and veteran Tony Atkin who continues to pile the points up. He is supported by another former Potter who will be looking to score big points in Ben Hopwood who spent last season with the Potters. Adam Extance completes the heatleader trio as he looks to continue his improvement for the Hitmen with Ryan Blacklock and Tom Woolley completing the Hitmens top five. At reserve the Hitmen have Ben Basford and David Holt who has turned out for the Stoke Spitfires in the Midland Development League on many occasions.Potters skipper Jon Armstrong said We are looking to start our home league campaign with three points against Buxton on Saturday. We owe it to our supporters after our disappointment at Eastbourne on Sunday when we just couldnt find a set up that would drive us forward so the lads and I are looking forward to getting out there and giving our supporters something to cheer about.STOKE: Jon Armstrong (Captain), Chris Widman, Ryan Terry-Daley, Danny Phillips, Lee Payne, Ryan MacDonald. 10. Good. Was it Ronan Keating who said? You say it best when you say nothing at all. Thanks for the heads up on the evacuation test though. We were wondering about that !
  11. Just so long as he blasts round them and not into them
  12. According to BSPA regs you have to have a co-promoter. I know of a few who are unlikely to have invested money
  13. I thought that but when you think about it. Long tail but Perry & Ellis in hts 13 & 15, which by enlarge they will probably win, it's leaving a lot to chance in hts 12 & 14 to actually get ahead
  14. I'll sort your post for you SteepleJack !
  15. Your views are neither here nor there to me. Can't stand people who don't have the backbone to come out of the shadows and back up their so called 'views'. Have you gone up to Chris and said you are the worst presenter in the sport To his face?
  16. What utter tosh I respect anyone's point of view. I din't respect anyone who spouts bile behind an assumed nickname. Tina Widman
  17. I don't think the sport has ever had 7 equal riders. Has it? You would end up with no riders everyone had to start somewhere whether that be NL stepping up to PL or EL. Like I say unless you are world champ fair and square you will always be learning and developing I think where the problem lies is that all 7 players (riders) have the same job. In football you have defenders and attackers. In Rugby you have a similar scenario. Even Cricket has batsman and bowlers. In Speedway you have 7 riders who line up at the tapes and race against each other for 4 laps. Pretty unique I'd say. So you can't compare it with other sports By it's very nature should be an individual sport The nearest thing you may get is the Ryder Cup all team members hit a ball with a golf club and get it in a hole
  18. Once again you have surpassed yourself. As if that were possible. Chris was ill. Don't kick a man when he is down you. You really are a piece of work (not allowed to be more specific in here) !
  19. It was a brilliant meeting and bonus no controversy. If you get the chance to get the DVD do. It was a bit close at times but the Lions never gave up.
  20. So you don't find a 2nd place chasing a 1st place closely for 4 laps and 1st doing well to hold 2nd off only to break down on the last bend thrilling I know I do. There are very few genuine passes these days even at the sainted Kings Lynn (for the benefit if HT)
  21. No.I think it's down to the individual rider not league or track. Most of them likr to gste and hug the white line.
  22. Probably an example where you have seen track craft used in any league, these days, would be handy as I don't see any.
  23. I was impressed with how well Fricke used b4. When you go out to the fence you seemed to get stuck but he was using to great advantage
