You were obviously at a completley different meeting to me I thought the crowd was quite good although quite spread out....... Well done to Scott Richardson who had a brilliant night and Lewis Blackbird held his own for his team mates. I do hope Joe jacobs finds his form again soon Best of luck Joe. What I do believe is that this section of the Forum is dying off, as very few people seem to want to comment anymore, and I think it is posts like this that are signing it's deat warrant to be honest. You are quite right well done those boys. The Colts did miss Jason and I'm sure they will be the first to admit it. Byron once again led from the front though he and Kyle who also did very well were a little unlucky in Ht 15. They were also hampered by the fact that they had to run 3 races on 3 riders as 3 rides had to be allocated to Jason that was a shame it may have been closer, had that not have been the case. Don't be too hard on the Hawks, they are allowed to have good days and bad days and I'm sure all involved have learned from today. Well done to Shane You have to give credit where credit is due, no matter what side you are on.

At least Oli has a place, with the points limit coming down, there are a fair few riders who find themselves out in the cold at the moment. I do feel for you and him and hope he goes onto to do well for kings lynn there certainly seems to be alot of positive comments on the Kings Lynn thread. I'm not sure that these public rantings are terribly helpful to the sport particularly NL who are fighting for every spectator and the spectators are entitled to their opinion somrtimes its not easy to read.If it upsets you that much maybe stay away from the forum. Keep plugging away and I'm sure you will both get there in the end.

You go lads give it your all C'mon The Colts

Do we know who the NL team is???? For workington
-
I also hope you do for many years to come and as an Upper Claptonian currently estranged in the midlands I could find my loyalties severly tested if my son were to ride against you

I stand corrected, and and my apologies go to paul. Had this been the only reference to kindergarden, second rate or mickey mouse events which have been mentioned on here recently I probably wouldn't have bothered but for both riders and the supporters, of these events, I think they maybe anything but(my opnion). I have to admit to what I know about speedway you could write on the back of a postage stamp (seriously). I'm sure everybody would like to see their own team league racing again. Just because you are not league racing doesn't make it any less worthy. Tina Widman

I am sorry I know I shouldn't bite but could you keep, the analogies of, the worthwhile work going on to stage second halve challenges and give riders opportunities of race practice and supporters associations doing their all to bring teams back to life out of it. 26 years Leicester Lions supporters gave to that cause including staging 'challenge matches' to keep the name out there. Where else do you think riders and teams are going to come from. Regardless of popular misconception pulling items out of hats is an illusion.
-
It doesn't sound like many meetings but it may encourage more people to attend and it gives the teams more flexibility in planning for NL/PL riders to be able to ride both as those riders are missed by fans and team mates alike when absent. You can't knock it until you have tried it.

You can get it on the Dudley sight but unsure if it is the full statement. It certainly looks like it. Don't get to excited

the Brits that are worthy of a place get a place I hear this term used a lot and I would like to know what parametres or criteria should be used to measure this. This is a genuine question as I would be interested to know.
-
I think you are doing a diservice to the Brit riders there. The riders I know struggling or 'out of favor' dont give up that easy tempting as it maybe.
-
Your comments is not well written but who is saying that new silncers have to be used in youth speedway?
-
Hopefully one day Long Eaton will be there to. I do hope so Best of Luck to the invaders

What I know about speedway you could write on the back of a postage stamp but even I can see that getting the NL right is a priority to the rest of the sport. The BSPA may not always get everything right, or so it seems to read this forum, the fact that a seperate date has been put aside to discuss the NL, and not make it an afterthought at the PL / EL Agm should be applauded. Money might be short but there are somethings you can't skimp on.

Mike, That is really bad news as I know how much you enjoy the trips into the Peak District and then up to the Hi-Edge raceway providing detailed descriptions of your trips on returning to Norfolk. The weather is currently brilliant which hopefully will continue and if the rain on Friday night/Saturday morning hasn't done too much damage, then the track will be in fine shape. Take care, and I hope that someone is updating so that you can follow the fortunes of the Y Stars online. Martin

And I'm sure the fact that Jayne is a Lady and the rest of them are men is pure coincidence Chopper thank you for all the supportive and kind words you have had for all Brit youngsters this year and best of luck to you and Rob for the future

I try not to post on here because things always turn into an almighty ding dong but... I am not sure that this kind of pessimism is what the league needs it is already struggling to attract support. I am sure that having tracked a winning team all season Hornet supporters are finding it difficult to be knocked out of the KOC trophy. You are clearly very commited and very passionate. Don't forget that those same young, british lads which were being given a chance and were giving their all on the track were also Kings Lynn riders and they are deserved of some praise for winning. I am wondering if the racing had been the same but result switched round if this evaluation of boring and uninteresting would have been the same. For what it is worth WELL DONE THE YOUNG STARS !!!!! I hope some KL supporters might be able to show their support to keep them in the winning ways ready for the next round

As the parent of a NL, standard rider, who has experienced mixed fortunes in the NL. I believe you should not stifle talent and to ban riders from other countries would artificially enhance the standard of the British riders, they need this competition, as part of their development. If this was removed from the league they would only come up against it when hitting the premier league therefore delaying the inevitable. They need the flamboyance of the foreigners together with the experience of the more mature riders. I think where the problem stands is the fact that not all riders develop at the same rate this may be for many reasons. A bad accident which has hampered their development. Financial constraints some riders are more financially viable to bring in mechanical expertise, equipment for whatever reason. If they have not hit the bigtime by 16 they will get jobs and have to hold down fulltime jobs, therefore reducing track time I supose a supporter on that basis or even a club would question a riders commitment but it happens or even just plain old different styles of riding and I would urge NL Clubs to consider that aswell. Of course it goes with out saying that Dale Allitt and KL are doing what they can for Chris and my thanks goes out to them(I have no experience of other clubs)but clubs are under so much pressure to role out the next overnight sensation. Darcy Ward has set the bar a little high. Another reason for development inbalances. Darcy Wards Dad and Tai Woffendens, for that matter, were excellent riders themselves therefore these lads have hit the ground running. Anyway to sumise. Points limits fine, foriegn riders fine, mature riders fine but please don't pidgeon hole the lads and just bare in mind that there are other factors that contribute to a riders development. Just because they are not hitting the double figs at 16 is not necessarily because they just can't cut it. And to Miles I am suprised at the welcome you have recieved at practice sessions and amateur meetings as it has not been our experience. From the day Chris walked into Sheffield speedway track and Ben Wilson took him for his first spin they have been very welcoming. If you ever bump into Team Widman at any of the practices or Amatuer meetings I'm sure they will do what they can to help. Tina Widman
