  1. I reckon that both Pusey and Wilson would be as good as King and better than both Cook and Barker. There were so many more that were way better though. EDIT: A good name for a Pub that. 'The Cook and Barker'.
  2. Point is that Pusey and Wilson would be way better than all but a couple of Riders in the British Final nowadays. Take out Woffinden, Harris and possibly Nicholls and I would back Pusey or Wilson against any of the rest. If they had a good night, which all Riders do - either of them could win it these days. Difficult to compare eras though - I only know that the British Riders I watched in the 60's and 70's seem, to me, to be far superior than anything we have today apart from probably Woffinden.
  3. Too right there is. Injuries are coming thick and fast in Speedway these days. There simply has to be a reason for it - especially as we now have Air Fences which certainly help avoid a lot of injuries. More Riders than ever are getting hurt. WHY? The Tracks haven't changed that much in Eighty odd year - but the bikes?.....................................................
  4. If pushed in to choosing a Father/Son partnership - I would go for Phil/Jason Crump marginally ahead of John/Chris Louis. Just an opinion, because it is very difficult to choose in different eras.
  5. I am sure that most Speedway Supporters in this Country would love to see Mr. Ward back on a Bike and doing what he does best. In case you hadn't noticed though Mr. Ward has got himself in to certain situations where he has run up against the Law of our Country in one Case and against the Speedway Regulations in another Case. Both Cases were very serious offenses. I have not heard one word of apology for either Case. (I may be wrong - but I certainly haven't heard any such apology). He just comes across as someone who has no regrets regarding his actions - or that is the way it seems to me.
  6. I take your point AFCB Wilcat. My apologies if my comments seemed a bit cynical. I, in no way wished to offend you.
  7. I think the local residents would kick up a stink. As it is currently running, they put up with it. Were they to try to set up again after a year or twos closure I think there could be a big problem. I would think that there would be a lot of objections from the local folk. Let's just hope that it doesn't come to closure though.
  8. What I was saying was that Holder would have ridden the line he took anyway, it the way he rides, it's what makes him exciting to watch. As for being ante Poole as you imply - I am not, never have been. But lately things that happen, for example Poole at Belle Vue in the rain a year ago and Coventry versus Poole on Monday night in the rain, it does make you wonder don't you think? I have no axe to grind - I support Belle Vue in the Elite League and Newcastle 'Diamonds' in the Premier. I am not really interested in Poole - but - they certainly seem to get the rub of the green every time. That, my friend, is the view of a total outsider.
  9. I'm glad you put that bit. I was about to go off on a rant. :D
  10. SCB that is a super Post. You have covered my feelings exactly. I am not ante Poole (though after Monday night - I must confess to having thoughts that way). Everything you state is correct. All this slavish devotion to Ward is, in actual fact, not doing him any favours. As for the Interview - he should have stayed away from the cameras - I can see why SKY wanted him on screen - but he should have simply said NO.
  11. I suppose the view you take depends on whether you are Poole Supporter or not.
  12. All looking very positive Aces51. Looking forward to next year already. :approve:
