  1. But crucially I have never, ever said that they would. The Elite League Teams, by and large, have better Riders so I would expect them to beat a Premier League Team. If you had but the sense to realise it, my problem is with the Name itself. The Elite League is very FAR from Elite - just under one third of the Riders in each Team are National League Riders orion, BW. That means that at least TWO Riders are THIRD Class. They may improve, some have but most are not of such a standard as to be called Elite? League Rider. Before you say it, the Premier League is badly name too - it is never Premier. Why the hell can't Speedway get back to the British League Division One, Division Two and Division Three - for THAT is what they are. Anything else is pretentious nonsense.
  2. I'm sorry BW - I couldn't resist. You really are very sensitive and defensive about it though aren't you? Your second comment is just silly. You are better than that.
  3. I think that there is a way to set up a Poll on here - but I haven't a clue how to do it. Perhaps one of the Mods or someone with more knowledge than I could oblige. I think it could be interesting.
  4. Well I'm delighted that Aaron has signed. He is far too good a Rider to be left out of Racing this year. I wish him luck at his new Club. :approve:
  5. WELL I DON'T!!! This is a FREE Forum open to anyone's views on Speedway, Politics and yes Religion too. You are entitled to say what you think on any subject under the sun as long as you do so in a reasonable manner. We ALL get angry and upset sometimes but that should not put you off Posting. If you pick up a Ban along the way - take it on the chin and come back afterwards hopefully having learned something. I have said before sidney, you have Posted many interesting Topics and Posts on here. Your decision not to Post any more would be a big loss to the Forum - and may I suggest - also to yourself. I believe you are WRONG in this. Remember - you withdraw from Forum activity and you let those who argue, debate and 'wind you up' win.
  6. There would be a few Australians from way back who would argue about that if they were still alive. On this issue - I still cannot forget all of the 'Anzacs' who gave their lives for this Country in two World Wars - Gallipoli springs to mind.
  7. I have only heard of Tom Farndon, Jack Milne and Cordy Milne and read about them. From reading about them I think they were something special. I have read a lot about those days in 'Vintage Speedway' Magazine and also 'Classic Speedway' Magazine, the worthy successor to the Vintage Magazine. I love reading about that era and I can highly recommend 'Classic Speedway' Magazine in reference to those times.
  8. I guess we must wait and see. I'm VERY impressed with Alex Davies comments. Clears up a lot of the conjecture.
  9. I wonder what will happen when we leave the European Union???
  10. That is the big thing to my mind. We can only keep our fingers crossed.
  11. I was a Sergeant Instructor in the Army Cadet Force - Drill was my speciality............................................
  12. And you know this because............................................
  13. Still very heavy when wet - and after the Meeting - what do you do with them then? It may even be problematical if you leave them on the Centre Green during the Meeting with Rider safety paramount. It might also interfere with vision for the Spectators. How long to you think it would take to get soaking wet Tarpaulin lifted and stored away before the commencement of Racing? In the case of Dog Tracks - how many of those do you think would be happy with loads of Tarpaulin lying about? As I said earlier - too impractical I am afraid.
  14. I met him (Ronnie Moore) a few years ago and he is a lovely bloke. He took time to natter to me for about five minutes - I will always remember that with gratitude
  15. OUCH!!!!! As we found out last year RD.
  16. .............. and I can vouch for the above. We have our differences now and again on here - but there is nobody who works harder to get the work done at Newcastle than Tsunami. I might add that he also finds time (somehow) to run a Training School. So I would advise you do your research Najjer before trying to be funny. Anyway, as Tsunami says - what do YOU do. Here's your chance - I haven't done any research on you.
