  1. Well I'm delighted that Aaron has signed. He is far too good a Rider to be left out of Racing this year. I wish him luck at his new Club. :approve:
  2. WELL I DON'T!!! This is a FREE Forum open to anyone's views on Speedway, Politics and yes Religion too. You are entitled to say what you think on any subject under the sun as long as you do so in a reasonable manner. We ALL get angry and upset sometimes but that should not put you off Posting. If you pick up a Ban along the way - take it on the chin and come back afterwards hopefully having learned something. I have said before sidney, you have Posted many interesting Topics and Posts on here. Your decision not to Post any more would be a big loss to the Forum - and may I suggest - also to yourself. I believe you are WRONG in this. Remember - you withdraw from Forum activity and you let those who argue, debate and 'wind you up' win.
  3. There would be a few Australians from way back who would argue about that if they were still alive. On this issue - I still cannot forget all of the 'Anzacs' who gave their lives for this Country in two World Wars - Gallipoli springs to mind.
  4. I have only heard of Tom Farndon, Jack Milne and Cordy Milne and read about them. From reading about them I think they were something special. I have read a lot about those days in 'Vintage Speedway' Magazine and also 'Classic Speedway' Magazine, the worthy successor to the Vintage Magazine. I love reading about that era and I can highly recommend 'Classic Speedway' Magazine in reference to those times.
  5. I guess we must wait and see. I'm VERY impressed with Alex Davies comments. Clears up a lot of the conjecture.
  6. I wonder what will happen when we leave the European Union???
  7. That is the big thing to my mind. We can only keep our fingers crossed.
  8. I was a Sergeant Instructor in the Army Cadet Force - Drill was my speciality............................................
  9. And you know this because............................................
  10. Still very heavy when wet - and after the Meeting - what do you do with them then? It may even be problematical if you leave them on the Centre Green during the Meeting with Rider safety paramount. It might also interfere with vision for the Spectators. How long to you think it would take to get soaking wet Tarpaulin lifted and stored away before the commencement of Racing? In the case of Dog Tracks - how many of those do you think would be happy with loads of Tarpaulin lying about? As I said earlier - too impractical I am afraid.
  11. I met him (Ronnie Moore) a few years ago and he is a lovely bloke. He took time to natter to me for about five minutes - I will always remember that with gratitude
  12. OUCH!!!!! As we found out last year RD.
  13. .............. and I can vouch for the above. We have our differences now and again on here - but there is nobody who works harder to get the work done at Newcastle than Tsunami. I might add that he also finds time (somehow) to run a Training School. So I would advise you do your research Najjer before trying to be funny. Anyway, as Tsunami says - what do YOU do. Here's your chance - I haven't done any research on you.
  14. There is the main reason for the drop in standards of British Speedway. I know that a lot of folk won't like it - but - it is true. Especially some of the man (Olsen) made death traps.
  15. I fail to see how you could lift so much tarpaulin, even in lengths, if it is WET - it would weigh a TON. For this and for all other reasons mentioned I think it is impractical. I don't know what the answer is but it certainly isn't that.
  16. I agree with what you are saying but goading someone who has a short fuse in to being aggressive is not good. That has happened to sidney on a number of occasions. We are all different and react to things in different ways. sidney tends to jump in all guns blazing - some people know that and 'set him up'. I just don't think that is right. If someone attacks me I will come back at them but in, I hope, in a measured way - not everyone is like that though. It would be a shame if we all thought\reacted the same way. It would be very boring on here for a start.
  17. Apparently we have some of the lowest Crowds in the Premier League. I did not know that. Well I think the Promoters are right to build to a budget. It is no earthly good bringing in Top Liners at tremendous expense and then closing down at the end of the Season because you are bust. I think the Team is a decent, honest outfit - I wish them every success. I doubt they will finish near the bottom of the League, and, with some decent luck regarding injuries they could well make the 'Play Offs'. Here's hoping.
