  1. The best ten Riders that I have actually seen in action would be: 1) Barry Briggs 2) Ivan Mauger 3) Malcolm Simmons 4) Ronnie Moore 5) Martin Ashby 6) Jason Crump 7) Tony Rickardsson 8) Tomasz Gollob 9) Ray Wilson 10) Zenon Plech These are in no particular order by the way.
  2. I was talking about the bastardisation of the English Language actually.........................................
  3. Fancy giving up Speedway to watch some doddery old Pensioners, who should know better, staggering about on Stage making a right royal racket. It beggars belief. There REALLY are some sad people in this World. They also must have more money than sense.
  4. An EXCELLENT accolade - Speedway Star 'PROGRAMME'** of the Year. **We are NOT American - yet!!!
  5. He did - change the nationality from South African to Australian - D'arcy Ward.
  6. Oh Lord - he is back.  Merry Christmas HRF.
  7. Perhaps it might be a good idea to look back when things in Speedway were MUCH better than they are nowadays. We MAY even learn how to improve things in our chosen Sport by correcting some of the many mistakes that have been made over the last thirty years or so.
  8. Yes - but he may not have noticed that he had 'Liked' his own Post.
  9. I couldn't agree more. PC has experience of all sides of Speedway. To treat his views with such contempt is not only pathetic, I believe it shows ignorance too. As for the insult - well - I would far rather hear from PC than whoever quoted the 'Chips and Gravy' remark. Very RUDE, very INSULTING - I don't think an apology would go amiss.
  10. I had to 'unlike' one of my Posts when noticed that I had hit the 'Like' button instead of the 'Quote' button. It is easily done. If you don't notice - well you can see the result.
  11. Methinks he probably pressed the 'Like' button in error. It can be done.
  12. There is also a quote: "Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it" - George Santayana Perhaps we should learn from our History in Speedway. It was certainly better than the present.
  13. I very much doubt that gustix. Keep Posting - at least most of your views are interesting. I'm not saying I always agree with you - I don't. BUT - I wouldn't want anyone transferring my Post to the Sycophant Thread.
  14. And what the HELL has that to do with anything? The man is a LEGEND - NOTHING more to say.
  15. To be fair to Tsunami - this has been mentioned many times on the Forum. It does get exasperating when folk say the same things over and over.
  16. What a GREAT Thread. Nice to know that someone who really knows Speedway through and through, largely has the same opinions as myself. :approve: :approve: I feel vindicated.
  17. Agreed Dave - the Reserves will not meet the Number One. It does not though invalidate posh panthers assertion that the Elite League will be a joke this Season and is, to put it mildly, a bit dodgy (Del Boy isn't a Promoter is he?) - it certainly doesn't look good on the face of it. We shall, of course, see.
  18. Fair enough Shadders. I don't agree with you, but that is your view and I respect that.
  19. I'm p**ing myself laughing. ............................................ or - is it incontinence?
  20. The alternative would have been NO Speedway at all. Would that have 'pained' you or are you just one of those Elite League - SNOBS!!?
  21. Well I hope Nick gets a new Track soon. Too good a Rider to be left on the shelf.
  22. GREAT to see the 'Panthers' back in the Premier League next Season. I've been there a few times and it would have been incredibly sad to lose a great Racetrack like Peterborough's. Welcome to the Premier League - BEST place to be!!! :approve:
  23. Mark Lemon was a good servant to Newcastle - I, for one, hope he gets fixed up OK.
