  1. When will the Ipswich promotion ever learn. With all the injuries we have had over the last few seasons they still go into a meeting using RR without a no. 8. How much does it cost to have a national league rider at the track as a no. 8. As you can only use riders with averages below the injured rider for IRR at least we would've had 2 riders in heat 14 tonight, it probably would still have been a 1-5 but at least we would've had 2 riders in it.
  2. Well after tonight's defeat and more injuries we might as well forget about this season as we can't afford to drop points at home and I can't see where we are going to get any away. With only four of our own riders fit we are going to have to rely on guests, and are they going to put 100% effort in for a rival team. Hopefully 2019 will be better whatever the league format may be and we can have a season without injuries.
  3. Looking at the teams I would say Glasgow should win. Ipswich without Danny King, replaced by Danyon Hume and no reserve. Won't be wasting my money going with a team like that, not a chance of winning. The big question is which Heeps will turn up.
  4. I sit in the home straight stand right in line with the start and Connor just beat Garcia. The ref was spot on with her decisions except for excluding Joel Andersson when it was a classic case of first bend bunching.
  5. I thought this year was all about saving money, with each team having a leg of the final in a 3TT each team would only have 1 meeting less if they made it through to the final as the format is now.
  6. Should've just had the winners of each group going into a 3TT final like they had in the eighties and nineties, then we wouldn't have all the arguments about who the better second place team is.
  7. Another poor performance from Heeps at Wolves last night. We really need to get rid of him now before his average drops even more. If not we might as well write this season off as we won't make the play-offs with this team.
  8. Thought the Swedes did all they could to get the Aussie out in the lottery of heats 22 & 23. They didn't seem too bothered against team GB as Freddie would've slammed the door shut on Woffinden but left him more than enough room.
  9. The lack of fixtures at the moment is going to come back and bite us IMO. Only 3 fixtures in June is a joke, how is this team going to get some momentum or consistency. With other teams changing their teams for the better I can see us struggling to make the playoffs.
  10. Can anyone tell me if the meetings are filmed this year and if so by who. Many Thanks
  11. Well I was probably the only Witches fan there tonight in what look a very small crowd, and what a difference 24 hours make. After I criticised his attitude last night Rory put in a very determined performance tonight, but I wonder if words were said to him after the Ipswich meeting. Cam was named captain which was a surprise as thought Rory would be, maybe a consequence of his actions last night. A good meeting and a score line which nobody would’ve predicted. Man of the match Connor, if only he could bring his Lakeside form to Ipswich. Edward did well seeing as it was his first match back after injury. Cam still can’t seem to find the quick way around but better than the shield meeting. Taylor was out of his depth which was to be expected. Danyon did his job beating his fellow reserves with controlled riding until his fall in 14. Good news that Danny hasn’t broken his arm and hopes to be back in three weeks. Good luck to the Hammers, hope you knock the panthers out.
  12. Just seen on the Ipswich website that we have Edward Kennett guesting for Danny.
  13. Be interesting to see who we get as a guest for Danny as all but Newcastle are riding tomorrow and they haven't got anyone near the quality of Danny. Maybe have to find someone from the Premiership. This is one Ipswich fan who will be there but it is only because I promised my Goddaughter I would take her as I only live 7 miles away from Lakeside.
  14. So if Danny has broken his arm who do we get to replace him. The only rider I can think of is Edward Kennett but I don't know when he is due back from his dislocated knee.
  15. Right just got home from tonight's meeting and where to start. Firstly speedy recovery for Danny we need you back as soon as possible. Secondly credit to Cam, Michael, Connor & Danyon for not giving up and racing to the end. Now onto Rory, after a very good heat win in heat 1 his attitude stank for the rest of the meeting and he just gave up. After we lost Danny he should be setting an example to the rest of the team but he attitude was disgraceful. He gave up and retired while last in heat 13 and a few of us thought that after Michael's heat win in heat 14 that it would be Michael & Cam nominated for heat 15. We were surprised when Rory was announced in heat 15, but then he really took the p*$$ and missed the 2 mins and got excluded. From someone in the pits I found out he wasn't even in the pits and Connor already had his blue helmet cover on ready to come in. As far as I'm concerned Rory can go and do one and should be replaced. Why should I pay my hard earned wages on someone who can't be bothered, as in the end of the day we the public pay his wages. I want to see a team who try and don't give up. Rant over!
  16. Seems like another balls up with the green sheets as issued two different sets in two days. Looks like the promoters didn't know as why would Ipswich name Ty Proctor as a guest if they knew new averages were coming out.
  17. Preview changed on official website now showing RR for Covatti at 2 and Haertel riding at 4. RR certainly weakens us with Cam, Michael and the 2 reserves only allowed to take the rides. Can't see us winning over 2 legs now so agree another cup gone, but will be there cheering them on in both legs.
  18. Looked to be more dirt on the track last night which helped the team, not sure Rory liked it that much even though he got a max as he was shaking his head every time he came in from his races. Good start to the league campaign, lets hope for a similar result against Lakeside next week. Will be interesting who we get as a guest at Lakeside on Friday as all but Newcastle are riding that night and I don't fancy any of their riders to replace Nico. Hopefully we can get a decent Premiership rider to replace him. Hope we don't go RR as we should've learnt our lessons after the finals last year about going into meetings with 6 men teams.
  19. And finally the management team see the light and put Rory back to number 5.
  20. Congrats to Lakeside on the win Danny really needs to look out for his team mates, he was at fault for Nico coming off in heat 13 as he totally blocked Nico's line, and couldn't he try to slow Morris down in heat 15 to give Rory a chance. People will say he is doing his job if he is winning races but there is no I in team. Hope Nico is alright. As stated before why don't the riders get some track time in after the meeting, only Danyon out there, not good enough.
  21. The lack of regular meetings is certainly not helping the team, but that's what the championship promotors wanted. Hopefully they will realise their error and go back to home and away twice next season.
  22. I only live 7 miles from Lakeside, but the meeting on Friday sums up why I would rather drive 60 miles to go to Ipswich than watch at Lakeside where the dirt is still lacking. Riders trying to go wide just went backwards as there was nothing to give them any drive. Why they decided to water the outside of the track during the meeting baffles me as there was nothing to water, and this led to the two riders coming down in heat 8 as it was like an ice rink. Both riders should've been put back in. Congrats to Lakeside on the win, and to Connor on his impressive showing. The tactical substitute rule is a waste of time, better than the double points but you should be able to use it more than once.
