  1. No thanks, not even in the same class. Surprised it's taken this long to be dropped.
  2. So you didn't read the article in the Speedway Star what Nico said about the incident this season in the Championship Shield meeting, and the Peterborough Management stopping the Star contacting Ostergaard.
  3. Amazing what a rider can score when he hasn’t got someone trying to take him out. Nico could race without having to look over his shoulder at every turn. Ipswich would’ve won this meeting if they had some reserves. 13+3 against 2+1 was the difference. Some good close racing and our top five was more than a match for Peterborough’s, but 2 points is better than none.
  4. The trouble with the dust last night was not surprising as Richard Lawson said the track was slicker than usual so they tried to water it early on in the meeting but couldn’t after heat 10 as it would’ve been an ice rink with no material to soak in. From an away supporters view there was some good racing usually when Nicholls was involved. Nico tried hard but was so wide he had the speed but was probably riding a lap more than anyone else!!!! Mark Riss was consistent 1 point for Edinburgh earlier in the season and 1 for us. Didn’t expect anything from the reserves. As for Heeps the first race summed him up, made the gate and went from first to last as he was tying himself in knots every corner. You would think with losing his wolves job he has to have a long hard look at himself to get back to what he was doing last season. Lakeside deserved to win as effectively we were a two man team, but we did miss Connor’s double figure score.
  5. You beat me to it Badge, no one is going to ride in it while the playoffs are in full swing.
  6. Great to get 4 points tonight, but like I said last week don't judge this team against Redcar as they are bottom for a reason. Next week will be the true test with Lakeside home & away and Peterborough away. Still concerned about reserves.
  7. Riss wasn't that good when Edinburgh were here earlier in the season. He was easily beaten in his first ride, and won against a half fit Danny who then withdrew from the meeting. He didn't trouble the scorers after that. As people have said he was dropped for a reason by Edinburgh. With regards to Wallinger he has a NL average of 5.64, not exactly tearing it up and doesn't appear in any of the team line-ups. Agree there are better options out there, someone mentioned Ryan Kinsley who has an average of 9.68 better than Danyon.
  8. Do you really think this team will maintain the home crowd, wouldn't be surprised if the crowd was down on Thursday.
  9. Not impressed with the changes made, but time will tell if they are for the better. Just don't judge this team on the two meetings against Redcar as they aren't exactly the strongest team out there. Will be interesting to see if Garcia can get double figures at Lakeside like Connor has both times.
  10. I'm just saying we struggle when the reserves have to cover RR this season, if we have a full team we should be okay but this season we haven't had that much with injuries.
  11. After the two results last night this was only going to be a home win. The Ipswich team is not built for using RR for either their 4th or 5th in the averages as we needed at least one strong reserve to cover this.
  12. Thanks for explaining that I thought a NL no.8 could be used like a reserve in such circumstances like last night. Still it would be better to have a no.8 named as what if the two riders had crashed out in their first rides.
  13. Well Ipswich were tipped to be one of the favourites but injuries have taken there toll so we had to be first at something
  14. With the way this season has gone with injuries and the lack of fixtures, just can't see us making the playoffs. I hope I'm wrong but realistically can't see it. Agree we need to try to get Campton & maybe Proctor for next season.
  15. When will the Ipswich promotion ever learn. With all the injuries we have had over the last few seasons they still go into a meeting using RR without a no. 8. How much does it cost to have a national league rider at the track as a no. 8. As you can only use riders with averages below the injured rider for IRR at least we would've had 2 riders in heat 14 tonight, it probably would still have been a 1-5 but at least we would've had 2 riders in it.
  16. Well after tonight's defeat and more injuries we might as well forget about this season as we can't afford to drop points at home and I can't see where we are going to get any away. With only four of our own riders fit we are going to have to rely on guests, and are they going to put 100% effort in for a rival team. Hopefully 2019 will be better whatever the league format may be and we can have a season without injuries.
  17. Looking at the teams I would say Glasgow should win. Ipswich without Danny King, replaced by Danyon Hume and no reserve. Won't be wasting my money going with a team like that, not a chance of winning. The big question is which Heeps will turn up.
  18. I sit in the home straight stand right in line with the start and Connor just beat Garcia. The ref was spot on with her decisions except for excluding Joel Andersson when it was a classic case of first bend bunching.
  19. I thought this year was all about saving money, with each team having a leg of the final in a 3TT each team would only have 1 meeting less if they made it through to the final as the format is now.
  20. Should've just had the winners of each group going into a 3TT final like they had in the eighties and nineties, then we wouldn't have all the arguments about who the better second place team is.
  21. Another poor performance from Heeps at Wolves last night. We really need to get rid of him now before his average drops even more. If not we might as well write this season off as we won't make the play-offs with this team.
  22. Thought the Swedes did all they could to get the Aussie out in the lottery of heats 22 & 23. They didn't seem too bothered against team GB as Freddie would've slammed the door shut on Woffinden but left him more than enough room.
  23. The lack of fixtures at the moment is going to come back and bite us IMO. Only 3 fixtures in June is a joke, how is this team going to get some momentum or consistency. With other teams changing their teams for the better I can see us struggling to make the playoffs.
