  1. What you can see is 2 other companies both in Andrew Bain's name where they have both been threatened with action and then dissolved, one where his occupation is "Director" and one where his occupation is "Labourer "
  2. Yes agreed, but giving them the option of a couple of practice laps and being able to adjust gearing, carburation & timing on a standard tune/standardised horse power, rev limited engine would allow adjustment for grip/spin in those basic set-ups to alter the suitability according to the riders weight/height/ability
  3. Here is how the Karting world do it with the club 100 Junior Britain class perhaps the promoters should look at this model, all riders on the same kit,? but maybe mechanics allowed to alter sprockets, timing carburettor settings only, on the day, each rider given a standard bike at the start of the event and allowed a couple of laps to see how the track behaves, before making the basic changes to timing/gearing/jetting prior to racing CLUB100 Junior/Senior Karts All the karts are race prepared before each day’s events by a top team of mechanics and test drivers, no expense is spared to ensure the equipment performs to it’s full potential, leaving it down to the driver to make the difference! 4. These minority sports got sorted out Through Matchroom, Hearn is also involved in many sports including boxing, snooker, darts, pool, tenpin bowling, golf, table tennis and fishing. Providing the product to mainstream TV means the public watch and follow and be prepared to attend these previously ignored minor sports, selling a poor product via a pay to view stream or a TV franchise which needs subscription will never promote the product successfully as you are only looking at an existing/shrinking fan base .

  6. Last had a chat with him at Ledbury grass track, still has his sense of humour though ! I well remember him singing the night away in the Bonanza scramble/trial/grasstrack marquee especially his favourite song, "The hole in the elephant's bottom" Raymond Crooke - The Hole in the Elephant's Bottom lyrics
  7. I will probably be taken out by tripping over my slippers The thought of watching Cyril Jones bouncing down the grass tracks around the country, going end over end through the ropes, and getting up and walking away, now sadly in a wheelchair after falling down the stairs in the dark a number of years ago !
  8. When you look at the Trophy you will see Sam Hagon's name on it twice in the last 2 years, there will be no comments section engraved on the cup. It is a case of "how many" not "how", you could say he was lucky, but I have found the harder you work, the luckier you get ! It is not his fault the system is set up for a winner takes all final, but it was there for all 4 riders to take advantage of, you just have to accrue enough points to get to the final, then in the most important race you need to want it more, and make your own "luck"
  9. If you are going to have a deciding heat to determine a win, then one nominated rider from each side, one wins, one loses would suffice, the stupid 4-3-2-1 points fiasco where one side can win the meeting by finishing 2nd/3rd is a daft idea, even if you put 4 riders out on track, then the winning side should be the side whose rider wins the decider .
  10. I used to hear the argument with pre 65 trials bikes, people were spending £12,000 building trick Ariel HT5's which got the weight down to around 210Lbs for a 500cc bike which would normally weigh above 300Lbs, alloy rims, alloy replica Whitton Bantam hubs with plated brake surface, tubeless tyres, modern lightweight fork internals in Norton sliders, PVL ignition, 350cc flywheels, carbon fibre primary cases, sintered alloy barrel with chrome liner and Yamaha XT 350 piston, alloy guards/levers/bars, NEB clutch foam pad seat etc. etc. Then saddle it with a 14 stone rider !, sometimes the cheapest option would be to lose 3 stone off the rider ?
  11. We used to ride the rounds of the six nations pre 65 trial, In Gressenich, Germany, as long ago as 1992, they were checking helmets for conformity to EU/FIM regs /ACU spec not sufficient, this was for a closed circuit off road observation trial, all held on private ground with no road work, other than crossing a road from the paddock to the event ( where you had to dismount , kill engine and push across the single carriageway rural road.), needless to say we borrowed a helmet for scrutineering and just wore what we brought with us. We were still riding similar events in the UK with no helmet at all ! In Beauval France where there was roadwork we were able to take the riding number front plate down to "scrutineering" where they stuck a "scrutineering pass" sticker on it ! In the UK, March Hare, Cotswold Cups rounds there was no scrutineering at that time !
  12. More appointments than a hairdresser !
  13. Absolute common sense to anyone with an ounce of brain power, but it does require the kind of joined up thinking that those in power and planning seem all too short of. Clarke Osbourne has already put enough infrastructure into Abbey stadium in order to comply with the letter of the law and allow house building, although no Speedway has taken place. The new planning should insist the new circuit is completed and has one full season of league racing before any development of the Abbey Stadium commences. Although this might seem sensible, we are talking about councillors ?
  14. It won't be these ! Bike kit retailer fined over £10,000 for unsafe helmets
  15. If you are looking for ex Newport riders, then Kim Nilsson is the stand out
  16. It does not need to go round in circles , I would watch this ! Bing Videos
  17. Perhaps there has been no progress because Speedway has been going around in circles for years 😄
  18. I would put that with, the cheques in the post, we stand with WASPI women, etc etc, all of the hollow promises which help another agenda, personally I would love it to happen and if above NDL level would make effort to attend frequently, but the cynical side of me thinks "it ain't going to happen" and Abbey stadium will get built on before a single league meeting takes place at the new venue ?
  19. Of course there is no money in it, only £11 1/2 million in dividends for the shareholders paid in 2024 here is the April 2024 accounts, the next ones will be due in April 2025 application-pdf He has been a very busy boy Clarke Anthony OSBORNE personal appointments - Find and update company information - GOV.UK
  20. Totally agree, it will never happen, all smoke and mirrors, the "promised land myth" which will allow the destruction of Abbey stadium and the building of more houses, before the completion of Wroughton gets near, don't doubt they will start the process to give the council a glimpse, but it is unlikely ever to stage a race, there is more duplicity in this new stadium scenario than in Rachel Reeves's CV
  21. Swindon Speedway: Public react to plans for new stadium
  22. I would expect the carbs to be Amal type 27 Track carbs ? Amal Type 27 Dirt Track Carburettor – 500race.org (see link) rather than a GP or TT type Drive sprocket will vary on the spline/centre depending which type of countershaft you have I have a complete 1930's Rudge-Martin JAP bike with nothing missing if you fancy another ?
  23. The new site will be lauded as the next "great white hope" plans will be made looking forward to a positive outcome, meanwhile Abbey stadium will get demolished and housing built way before any infrastructure goes up at the new site, then there will be a reason the new site cannot be completed, take your pick bats, newts, wild flowers, natterjack toads. etc. etc. Maybe there just are not enough cynical people in councils and governments with the b***s to say build the new stadium completely and get it up and running before you destroy the old one , any verbal agreement from the developers is not worth the paper it is written on, and most of the agreements/guarantees written on paper are worthless as well
