Quite a coup really. It looked difficult for Mildenhall to replace someone on Kelly’s average without going for a 3.00 novice but they’ve found a decent quality rider who’ll keep Muff & Warren at reserve, where they should be.

Lots of pressure on Aarnio then as he’s been signed on home form alone and is straight in at number 5. -

BULLETS v DEVILS (NDL) Saturday, April 16th (8.15pm)

Easy home win. -
Championship have priority. But is the meeting purposely so early (1pm) so that Ablitt can do both meetings?

Hopefully the weather holds up for this one but it looks like another Leicester win at the EWR. -

He’s missed a few years. I think the bigger surprise is how much of a reduction he got! -

That guarantees the home win tbh. It’s a shame as I was looking forward to how Killeen would do so hopefully his debut isn’t delayed too long with the other riders getting upto speed quicker. -
Armadale Devils v Berwick Bullets

Ace Pijper what a fantastic NL debut! -
Of course, anyone can still get involved!

Fair enough. I thought that’d be the outcome. There must be some random Brits who aren’t top flight standard but are worthy of signing up incase of an injury crisis though surely. I only regularly watched the Ekstraliga last season tbh but I intend to follow the 2 lower leagues as well this campaign.
-
I knew that was coming! I’m not suggesting there are riders out there of the calibre of the Laguta brothers or Sayfutdinov, but at the least wouldn’t you rather have someone else in your squad to cover for an injury in the future? In previous seasons the team could track R/R, but now they’re already tracking R/R! But to answer your question (and I apologise if these have been signed by lower league teams that I haven’t noticed yet) but what about: Ellis, Thorssell, Pontus Aspgren, THJ, Loktaev, Huckenbeck, Wolbert, Smolinski, Harris, Ostergaard, Nikolaj Jakobsen or a couple of other Brits. These riders are comparable in standard to Tarasenko and would score a couple of points if Wrocław got Tai & Dan injured rather than using a U21 Pole.
-
You’re assuming that guests are the only alternative option. I assumed teams would’ve been allowed to sign another rider given the circumstances. The problem with R/R is both injuries and out of form riders. As you say there can be 2 injuries in a meeting, but of course 1 injury is far more likely, and suddenly the side can be relatively very weak. Especially with the introduction of the U24 rider now who last season was often poor for a top 5 rider. Wrocław & Torun are lucky and still have 4 quality riders (or you could say unlucky as both would’ve felt a title challenge is more likely with their full teams). Compared to Grudziadz who are already relying on Nicki P and only need 1 other injury and KK to go 0, 0, 0 and suddenly they only have 2 riders left including their U24! One personal irritation about R/R is how it drags out meetings in England. However I’m sure the Polish meetings won’t be affected as badly by this.

Jack Kingston back is an intriguing one! Will he want a full-time return I wonder?

Armadale Devils v Berwick Bullets
Islander15 replied to Al Stewart's topic in National League Speedway
Berwick could nick this. Bullets have a strong top 3 to match Armadale’s and their bottom 4 is almost certainly stronger but it depends how dialled in the local youngsters are this early in the season. If one of Watson, Rathbone or Douglas have a good meeting then I can see a small away win. -
Copying over Diamonds85’ team from the other thread so that it doesn’t get missed. ‘ 1 Alfie Bowtell 9.78 2 Ben Trigger 3.57 3 Henry Atkins 5.86 4 Sam McGurk 5.25 5 Ben Morley 9.18 6 Archie Freeman 3.00 7 Max Perry 3.00 39.64 Really wanted to get Joe Thompson in for Ben Morley, but it was a whole point under the limit, so I'd have been behind before I even started!!’
