  1. RIDERS' insurance used to run until October 31st
  2. THE vast majority of printed subs copies are arriving on time and we thank the Royal Mail and all its postmen and women for that.
  3. AGREE but the whole package makes for a great weekend
  4. NICKI Pedersen talks about racing in SGP events at Cardiff, Paul Burbidge gets a variety of views on whether rider and bike weights should be co-ordinated and we reveal why a railway yard in Poznan has some connections with speedway ... all in SS this week as we battle to get through these difficult times.
  5. IAN offered to tear up the rulebook and rewrite it with far less pages ... pity the BSPA didn't accept it then and it is even worse now.
  6. HAVE to say that I think Rob Godfrey is working hard and doing a good job under unprecedented circumstances
  7. For the record, Laguta and Sayfutdinov have Polish passports... and the decision about June for Prague is down to the local promoters.
  8. CAN get fish and chips ... if you go to our local and phone them with your order while outside they will bring it out.
  9. WHO knows John and thanks for your thoughts...
  10. BASICALLY not enough revenue from one issue as opposed to four (or five) to cover costs, especially salaries, National Insurance, etc, office rent, rates and we wouldn't get into supermarkets and many newsagents. Plenty of other reasons too.
  11. THINK they will try for Prague later in the year....
  12. HUGE variance in delivery days ... judging by the number of comments about this week's issue on social media yesterday, many had obviously already got their copy.
  13. COMMENTS like yours have certainly made us think. There was a furore amongst some when we dropped actual match reports (a financially based decision) and race times. Have said many times that we cannot please all of the readers all of the time but we are taking stock at the moment about content of SS going forward.
  14. HAVE posted this before ... we receive 56% per cent of the cover price (£3 ... £1.68) no matter how it is sold ... retail, printed subs or digital.
  15. CANNOT answer that right now but, of course, it is a possibility. Retail sales (Newsagents, supermarkets, etc) have taken a hit which was inevitable in a lockdown such as we are enduring. Our plan is to continue publishing weekly as long as that is viable. Hopefully, there will be some speedway later this year but our biggest concern now is people being unable rather than unwilling to purchase SS. We are extremely grateful to those who continue to do so.
  16. THANKS. No credit to me I might add but editorially Andrew Skeels and many contributors are doing a great job while Art Editor Mick Smith puts it all together.
  17. AS far as I know they set their own prices as do the PZM for Warsaw
  18. NOT actually in the same building but both have their offices in Chiswick Business Park, a huge complex comprised of several office blocks (IMG in No 6), restaurants and recreational facilities.
  19. I AM positive ... August, September, October. Who cares as long as there is some resumption. Of course I have a vested interest with the future of Speedway Star in the balance along with those who work for Pinegen.
  20. MY apologies is that is the case. They have ceased ads in SS so made the wrong assumption.
