  1. SOME news faces ... Fricke, Millik and Lambert, who I think is ready. If you are good enough you are old enough.
  2. WARSAW and Prague (probably). Personally, would drop either Malilla or Hallstavik (lack of Swedish riders) and have an early SGP at the NSS in Manchester. British fans are generally more supportive of the riders whatever their nationality and the gap from say May to September wouldn't detract from Cardiff. It might even help.
  3. MY colleague Peter Oakes texted ... Went to King's Lynn last night and have to say there was not a speck of dust despite being only 27 miles from the warmest spot in Britain yesterday. Buster was telling me he was on the track at 3.45am putting down water so despite what people will say you can run a meeting in this weather without sending the public off to have a shower!
  4. STRANGELY the night speedway World Finals were held never came up in my history lessons.
  5. NOT involved and BSI no longer hold the post meeting Press Conference at which the official stadium figure was provided.
  6. THEY have various other duties during the course of a meeting and are rarely all in one place. But the referee's decision is still final.
  7. HOPE Lambert can stay awake. Cardiff yesterday, Poland today, KL tomorrow. Tough even fir a 20-year-old
  8. NOT practical ... would take ages to convene the jury, the time taken would be prohibitive. It is not like the referee doesn't have countless TV replays to help him. But his decision is final.
  9. NOTHING to do with BSI but FIM not impressed although obviously they won't say so publicly.
  10. THE roof is more than a protection against the weather. A closed roof helps the atmosphere inside the stadium and means they can do so much more with the lighting and special effects, etc. In my view the perfect setting for this event and a big well done to the BSI crew for all the work and effort they out in. The Race Director has very little to do on this occasion ... Olsen is there for the track (and hats off to him too) and apart from getting the riders onto the track for each race the RD is almost a by-stander. The riders are well versed in getting to the starting grid as and when required.
  11. UNLIKE you to have a moan about NP Try actually going and you won't have to put up with it.
  12. FIRST time in 17 years at Cardiff that I have sat in the grandstand. Fantastic night. Cannot beat live sport and the whole package this year was in my opinion exceptional. Being amongst a crowd like that, enjoying chatting with people you have never met before, getting caught umping the whole atmosphere. Just brilliant and on the on-track action was just the icing on the cake. Only minus was the referee who, frankly, I will be surprised to see officiate at another SGP.
  13. YES they do ... includes a now established element of clay which retains moisture and helps bind it together.
  14. IN SS this week both Craig Cook and Chris Harris confirming that they cannot make ends meet racing for just one team in the UK.
  15. No change in my opinion either. Happy to leave it at that but Rosco in a waistcoat. Heaven forbid
  16. MORE to do with Emil slowing to ensure that Robert had no room to pass up the inside. At no stage was Emil not in charge of the situation.
