DON'T think much if any of that is true.

THAT'S easy. Walk away and stop losing money. In the case of Rye House, an estimated £10,000 per meeting.
-
AGREE but you still need people prepared to finance it and, right now, it's not a very attractive proposition.
-
NO but why would Len or anyone for that matter want to spend money on a business that, in its current form, has already been administered the last rites?
-
I AM just telling you that there are promoters who think it would be financial suicide to go down a certain route.
-
I HAVE no doubt that there are some PL promoters, already struggling, who would rather close than risk presenting a watered down product to their remaining fanbase.

AS I said previously, SS could be overtaken by events ... SCB statement IT is with deep regret that Rye House Speedway Promoters have today been annulled by the Speedway Control Bureau. This is a sad day for the sport as the Rockets will now be unable to take their place in the Premiership for the remainder of the season.BMR Racing, the club owners, and riders made the British Speedway Promoters’ Association aware of debts building and every opportunity was given for these to be reduced and finally settled. However, it has become apparent this is now not possible. We sincerely hope this is not the end of the sport at the Hoddesdon Raceway and that a way can be found for the club to return to racing next season.

OLE is currently only actively involved with temporary tracks ... the installation, etc. But then he hands over to the Race Director who makes decisions like grading, watering, etc as he does at permanent tracks. It is true that when RD Ole did prefer slick tracks because he felt they were easier to deal with in the event of bad weather and the necessity to get the meeting completed because of all the inherent costs, including TV, satellite times, etc. Tony Olsson, who in any opinion was the best RD, had a different and more relaxed attitude. Many lessons have been learned about temporary tracks - the material, how essential is the moisture level when laid - but from what I have been told today two months of hot, dry weather and plenty of wind made track preparation on Saturday very difficult.
