On his day you would have to say Perks but even he has made a few silly mistakes this year with couple of them simply trying to go too fast.
Hume has got better as the season has gone on.
Of the others I've seen this year, Kemp has not looked at all comfortable at Leicester, Rowe has been good value and you can't discount Clegg if he gates.
Maybe because Leicester Cubs are normally a Saturday track and will be riding in the play offs & cup.
But then again the Lions got Joe Lawlor even though Stoke are Saturday too.
Narrows it down to Edinburgh & Redcar then as Glasgow & Sheffield also meet on Saturday.
The only ones that look a good fit average wise are Wells (injured?), Heeps, Pickering & Palm-Toft (injured?) so I know what my guess would be.
At the moment I would take whoever finishes 4th but anything can happen in the next few days to change that.
Just looking forward to this weekend first.
Gilkes was also class around Leicester last Saturday.
First time I have seen him, very fast and never out of control on a track which catches many inexperienced riders out.
Definitely one to watch.
Should be a romp for the eagles and probably by enough to be comfortable over the 2 legs.
However this Lions team does not lie down and will hopefully put up a decent fight.
Certainly a lot closer racing this week. Personally I think it's better with less dirt as long as it's evenly spread across the track and not left to build up on the outside.
Watching from the back straight there did seem to be a bit of a bump going into the 1st bend.
It will be interesting to see how KP goes. He had a decent meeting for Leicester there last season with 9 from 5 after taking a couple of heats to suss it out.
