  1. So I spent 18 months working and learning from Graham, he has great knowledge and experience, when he left I called him and asked him to stay, so yes he did have help. Look at those Facebook posts again I don't think you will find I responded to them, clearly you want someone else to do it other then me, that's fine , bring them along they can have my keys, don't know why I bother!!! Go find someone else to put 25 to hours a week in for nothing, I'm done. Keyboard warriors win.
  2. Like I said only complaint I was told about was to much dirt going in. If Scott said what he did I won't argue!! But that was not relayed to me. We called in Andy Meredith, because he is 1 of the scb track advisors. We did it because we were not happy with the bumps, we tried to get rid of them but it didn't work, we spoke to Andy on the phone, he advised us to try something before the redcar meeting, we did what he said but that did not solve the problem, so Andy came in at our request. Part of what Andy has done has worked, but sadly the weather played a big part in last nights track,
  3. Not offended, just get so fed up with everyone having a go when they have no idea what goes into all the prep. Myself and Stewart are both licensed track curators, I do alot of the work in the week, with help from Sam, as Stewart is the manager and he talks to the riders constantly he has the last say on what we do to the track. Last night Andy Meredith was in control of the track as we had requested he came in to do the blade work. In a normal week it is normally me who does all the grading during the meeting, sometimes Sam or Hugh will grade as I have to do any watering. The tall guy in the cap as you describe him is unwell at the moment, so I am sure when he is feeling up to it he will be back. I did offer to go on the tractor but Stewart wanted to do it.
  4. I can only go on what the riders say, if they don't like it then it is up to us to try and change it,
  5. He was actually pointing out a patch of clay. Which Stewart was trying to grade away.
  6. The only complaint I was told about from the riders was there was to much dirt ging into the bends which made it hard for them to turn.
  7. Not blaming Andy Meredith for anything, he worked hard over 3 days, but it just didn't work for him. You are quick to say I know nothing, and calling for a new track man to be installed. I know people will now guess who I am, to be honest I don't really care. If anyone wants to take my place then you are welcome. It will involve work at the track on average 2 or 3 hours every evening after doing my day job, then on a Saturday from 8am to approximately 9.30pm. Oh and then on a Sunday from 7.30 to 3.30 or 4pm if we have a practice day, also be available if a rider wants a couple of hours practice to test new equipment. Oh, it's all voluntary. Any takers?
  8. Yes Andy Meredith was there last night, he prepared the track .
  9. Not possible, as bladed Wednesday, track nearly sorted, the it absolutely smashed it down with rain, so the work had to stop, inside of the track was under water, Thursday spend hours drying the whole track out before moving the material around, after doing all of that the track was packed in as hard as possible, more work on it Friday with a view to getting it all done early Saturday morning. Loads of rain Friday night, more puddles to get rid of, more time to dry it out again, was so wet that could not even put a tractor on the track until after midday.
  10. The track has a couple on bumps in the 1st bend, nothing to serious, but all being well it will be sorted very soon. As for the watering , 14 bowser were used during the day, that equals around 56 thousand ltrs, it did go dusty late on, more water was going to be put down but the driver was beckoned off the track, Have to disagree about the passing, I thought there was many good moves made. I know race times are not the be all and end all, but heat 1 the track record is broken, 14 of the 15 heats were the fastest times of the season so far, also in heat 15 Howarth was close to breaking it again.
  11. You are correct as far as I remember, not looked at the information for a very long time. But I believe all the plans are still valid, so things could be built if the money was there. I think the plans were passed as a complete package, so if part of it is built, ie the speedway then then all of the original plans still stand?
  12. I will ask the question as I have nothing to do with tickets or the gate. Not sure why the ticket office is in the position it is past the entrance gate, I guess it the only place it could be positioned when the stadium was built. As for the perspect screens they had to be put in as a covid measure from the council.
  13. It is my understanding that the disabled parking spaces are on a first come basis, que at the riders gate. The car park is not part of the promotions rental of the stadiums I am led to believe, so any repair work I guess would be down to DH. As for the buggy going down to tesco car park, I don't think that would be allowed as it would need to go on a public road,
  14. Seems to be a grey area then, red light straight on,race stopped where riders are or let it run to see if rider clears, the delay could take a leader into another lap, tough one to call I would say. Without knowing the rule.
  15. Does anyone know the rules, if a rider falls there is normally a slight delay before the red lights are put on. So my question is. Is it stopped only when red light is shown, or does the referee have the decision to make where the riders were when the incident actually happened? Having delayed putting the red light on to see if the fallen rider can clear the track.
  16. If Brennan had started lap 3 then fine, I know he was leading but I can't see him being that far in front at the time of the incident, he could of crossed the line before the red light came on, I will give you that.
  17. To put the record straight, Brennan had gated, Bailey in 2nd, Worrall in 3rd, going into the 3rd bend Worrall went underneath Bailey, no contact, but Bailey fell, the rerun was 3 riders only,as Bailey was disqualified. Worrall won the rerun. Glasgow so I understand wanted the heat to be awarded, but it was only the 3rd bend on the second lap.
  18. Sorry if you think I was doing to much tractor work, it was needed , 30 mins between main meeting and ready for the cubs is good going, it gave them a good track to ride, more importantly it protects the track from breaking up. Which believe me tacks a hell of a long time to put right again.
