Ipswich vs Sheffield 19/8/24
spin king replied to Fozzie4388's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
In answer to you quote about us predicting 10 point Witches win (I did). My reasons were (1) Sheffield away form has been poor. (2) Our form at Foxhall has been poor. (3) Holder brothers allegedly hate Foxhall. (4) Our reserves are far weaker than Ipswich. (5) Yes Ipswich were without Emil and Doyley, but they did bring in Dan Bewley fresh off a Grand Prix win. (6) Looking at the Ipswich team (Emil and Doyley been the exception), there is a big difference between the riders home and away average, which suggests that they have a team that is particularly good home form. Yes on paper we should have won, but speedway meetings are not won on paper, if they were we would have won at Oxford (1st meeting) and Kings Lynn. But I am more than happy that we won the meeting, but not daft enough to know that we would have lost if Emil and Doyley had been in the Ipswich team. Ipswich have been really unlucky this season, to lose 2 quality riders in Emil and Doyley has killed their season. -

Would to love to see us win tomorrow. But our away form has been poor overall, and Foxhall has not been a happy hunting ground for us. Ipswich to win by 10 and get the bonus point and go back to the top of the league. -
Sheffield v Ipswich 8th August

Fair play to you if you have posted best wishes to Emil on other forums. And Thank you finally for pointing out that some not all Sheffield fans can be unpleasant. I do feel sometimes that generalise to much. We have some fans I am not going to deny it, and never have done who cannot behave themselves , but generally most are fine, trouble is that people always remember the bad ones rather than the better ones. As for Emil once again lets hope the injuries have not finished his season, he has been and hopefully in the future an excellent addition to our league. -

Absolutely agree it looked like he missed Bomber legs by millimetres. Like I said in previous posts not the way you want to win a meeting. -

Best Wishes to Emil hope the injury is not to serious. Not the way you want to win a meeting, and Ipswich were definitely the better team, we were and have been far to inconsistent all season. I don't see us getting any further than the Play Off Semi's this season, and if Emil is missing then I don't see Ipswich either with no Emil and Doyley. -
Sheffield v Leicester - Thursday 1st August

I disagree works at home. Heat 1; Howarth Heat 2; Pickering Heat 8; Holder (Jack) Heat 9: Holder (Chris) Brought us 9 points last week, and you I think it should bring us the same again. -
More than a possibility, but Tai is an adrenalin junkie, so I think he will carry on for another few seasons. I do that he is on a wind down in his career, and I think that he will maybe ride UK and Poland 2nd or 3rd tier, and of course I think we all know that his GP career is over.

My guess is season over.

At the time of the Matousek incident I was not attending speedway, so I cannot comment on it, whether or not it was purposely set out to hurt Nagy. But Matousek did have a reputation and general consensus seems to be he meant it, maybe not as bad as what actually happened. There will always be the odd rider that will go over the top, but more often than not it is not intentional.
-
Not seen the accident and I don't have any desire to. But I find it hard to believe that any rider would go out of their way to deliberately injure another rider and serious one at that. It is said that Tate and Keynan are close friends, so it is even harder to believe it was deliberate. As I have already posted best wishes to Tate, lets hope he makes a full recovery from what appears to be a nasty crash. Also lets hope that this does not have an effect on Keynan mentally as I am sure he will be upset that a friend has suffered and injury.

Best Wishes to Tate and hope he is well soon.

When I look at a rider I like to look at the riders average. On the surface for a first season 6:96 is pretty impressive. But if you break his average down he is averaging 9:38 at home, and 4:71 away. That is big difference in those averages from home and away, and that would be my big concern if I was an Aces fan. But the Workington track appears to be very much like the National Stadium, so he should be okay at home, but away it might be a different matter. Will be interesting to see if he is the right man to replace Mountain.

Bad news for Ipswich with the injuries piling up. I suppose that they will try and keep it as tight as possible, with the view to winning the bonus point. But it looks like an uphill battle with only Birmingham riders available to be used as Guests.
-
Completely disagree. I would say and it is happening more often than not Sheffield are winning bonus point so far in the league, and I would back us to keep this up for the rest of the season. There is one club that I think we have and will struggle with beating over two legs and that is Ipswich, and that is even with or without Jason Doyle.

Sheffield v Leicester 23rd May
spin king replied to InTheDeepStuff's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Leicester will smell blood and I expect their Management get them fired up. For Sheffield we need to keep it as tight as possible, Tai and Chris Holder will need to be at their very best, and if we are going to lose we need to keep it as tight and lose by the smallest margin and take it to a super heat so we get something out of the meeting. And we desperately need Kyle Howarth to put in a performance, and Jason Edwards needs a big performance. Rory Schlein as a guest has me worried, never been totally convinced in him around Sheffield. But Leicester will be thinking that they have a great chance to take the win and they will be up for it. -

I am off to do a rain dance. -
I think that Oxford will keep Craig Cook, it would be madness to let him go on his present form. I can see Oxford releasing Lewis Kerr. And given the choice between Kyle Howarth and Lewis Kerr, I would go for Kyle.

Maths is not your strong point I see. Still trying to think of a time that Kyle Howarth and Dan Gilkes have said or done something that could be classed as arrogant or controversial. -

Congrats to Ipswich on the win, the better team on the night. I am concerned with Kyle Howarth, not having a great start to the season not only for Sheffield but Scunthorpe as well. Tai is correct in saying that there may need to be some changes to the team, and Kyle at this moment seems to be the weak link in the team. -
On the subject of SCB and him re-offending the clue was in his post, with one line. " Don't believe everything you read in the press" To me that intrigued, me as I genuinely thought that he would have been banned from any social media platform. After reading I googled his and Jason's names to read through reports on them only to find that SCB had re-offended. Was this SCB trying to cover up his re-offending. I think it was. I have since been told by others that he is very prominent on Twitter. What the hell are the authorities thinking about letting him on Twitter or any other social media platforms, Social Media and the likes of SCB are a dangerous mix. For Jason, actions speak louder than words. For one he needs to move away from Manchester way from previous he hung around with. He needs to do some charity work, victims support would be good one to start with and the two people he did wrong. And finally he would have to accept that he would face drug testing on a more regular times than other riders. If he was prepared to do all of the following then I might consider that he has reformed in character and maybe be given a 2nd chance of re- building his speedway career.

Paedophile's come in all shapes and sizes and different backgrounds and sometimes the people that just did think would be. Few years back I caught out a work colleague who had been caught watching child porn, I had 6 months of having to treat this person as normal and not tell anyone at work. He was given work duties that kept him away from children. To be honest the whole episode nearly drove me to a nervous breakdown, it was the hardest 6 months of my life. Spin King Junior know all about this and knows what I went through, a nonce is a nonce and he would only use this terminology if it was true.
