  1. Sheffield announced that they were keeping the same prices as last season and the season before £15.
  2. Not too sure, I would guess that it will be 5 myself due to not riding in any of the major league and his age.
  3. That is not bad, problem is that it is 0.12 over the 42.5 lmit Stead Wilson Birks Proctor R Worrall Covatti Bates Comes in at 41.81.
  4. They have said that they have a team in mind for next season, but were waiting to see what new changes were going to happen if any from the Conference. They have hinted at a returning Tiger which has to be Ash Birks, and a hot British prospect who that is remains to be seen, but my guess is that it will be fairly quick after the Conference..
  5. Got to be honest I did think he was coming.. But to be honest I am not overly bothered. Yes he is exciting, but he can be very unpredictable and has a tendency to fall of the bike a lot. Also for some unknown reason he does not look so good around Sheffield and I do wonder whether he could have improved on a starting average of 6.75. But time will tell whether or not he will make that next step up.
  6. Probably the two best rider in the Premier league last season, I suppose it depends no where you are watchin your speedway as to who you believe is the better rider. Tight and technical track then you would probably plump for Cookie. Fast and pacy then its Steady. But as Mr B says the title of the thread is Edinburgh 2015.
  7. Ashley Birks has already signed for Sheffield.
  8. Not having a ticket is not such a crime, what about the guy who designed the Birmingham race suits in 2010.
  9. What has football got to do with speedway. And did you sell him a ticket?
  10. I think that Steady or any other rider has a bit more intelligence than to sign for two club that share the same race night. At this stage of his career he will be looking to maximize his earning potential.
  11. Could do but I think that he would at this stage in his career to be at Sheffield. In fact unless the Elite League look at the way they do their team building, he could find it hard to get an Elite League spot.
  12. I don't think that you can seriously have two teams running at the same track and in the same league. You would effectively give both teams an extra meeting on their home track.
  13. Did not read underneath just looked at the team.
  14. Nice team, but did you know that there is a points limit, afraid that you will find that team is almost 2 points over the limit.
  15. Strike the new programme board of the Christmas list.
  16. A new programme board for Christmas then.
  17. Adam comes in on a average of 4.78. On that average he could be slotted into a reserve position and then he for me becomes an attractive proposition for the team, and I certainly would not rule him out of a possible place in the Sheffield team. Whether or not Adam would want to come back to Sheffield is a different matter, but if it was a case that we could start him at reserve I would definitely take him.
  18. Has to be Sheffield. Excellent viewing. Excellent Carvery and reasonably priced where you can watch the meeting with excellent viewing. Excellent Corporate Boxes with Panoramic views of the track. And of course the Best Car Park in British Speedway..
  19. Totally agree with what has already been said about Ashley, and on the average comes in on he is a steal. Could we be seeing a return of going back to our roots, the most successful Sheffield teams have had an element of local born riders. Definitely a good start to the team building from the Sheffield Promotion.
  20. As per whenever new people come in and takeover sports clubs there will always be people that are moved on or leave a club. Hoggy was like Mar mite at Sheffield had his fans and had his detractors, and I would say it was a lot of people more some people were upset by his leaving the club and how it was dealt. And like Hoggy did time for this thread to move on.
  21. What does that have to do with Ty Proctor's average. And what has it got to do with the title of the thread Sheffield 2015.
  22. I think everyone would love to see more British riders getting team places in the Premier League especially youngsters. But like our Scottish friends have said attracting younger rider to clubs near the and pass the Border is easier said than done. Looking at my own club, over the last 10 seasons, the club has used 40 different riders only 16 of those were Non British. Which I think is not a bad record over the years.
  23. Have to agree with the stand out team for the season winning, but the Somerset side did give them a bit a fright and took them to very last heat decider shows to me why we should keep the Play Offs.Although it does not happen every time it can produce the drama, the unexpected and the excitement that last night meeting produced. If Paul Starke had not drifted wide and allowed Fox, the title would have gone to Somerset, but Edinburgh showed what a great team they have been and are by holding their nerve and going on to claim the title. Great speedway, great drama what a pity the camera's were not there to capture the excitement.
  24. You could counter balance that one with the fact that Simon Stead was paired with riders like Sedgmen and Masters and the chances of getting bonus points are harder to get. You could have a thread on its own discussing who has had the better season, Edinburgh fans will tell you Cookie, Sheffield fans Steady, end of the day both had great seasons and were for differing matters vital to their team.
