  1. Got feel for my old mate Shadders, travels up and down the country following the Rockets with nothing to show for it. It must be getting tempting to change his colours from blue and yellow to the black and gold, but you I guess its a matter of pride stubbornness that stops him. Somerset are though a very good side and they have been for quite sometime, but this was some defeat for Rye. I do find it hard to believe that Rye could not get a Guest for Edward Kennett, maybe they did not try hard enough. As for Somerset I think they will get stronger as the seson goes along and could be a bit of a dark horse in the Play offs.
  2. Would not say it was a classic, the race where Josh Bates was shaping up to be pretty tasty but not much more after that, but then again the opposition were poor and it takes two teams to make a good speedway meeting.
  3. Three points to the Tigers and rhe Comets go away with nothing. and too be frank they did not deserve to. The Guests that Sheffield booked were good, and I think that the Promotion should consider both Kevin Wolbert and Ashley Birks if we require Guests again. Steady was as good as ever. Ben Wilson was okay. Taylor Poole was not as good as he has been recently, but still scored some vital points. Josh Bates did well and the race where he crashed he was giving Bach and Campton hell. Workington No one really comes out with credit apart from Guest Barrett, the rest frankly performed well under par. End of the day good win for the Tigers and the scoreline flattered the Comets. .
  4. Ricky Wells average for meetings at Sheffield last season. 8.10 with bonus points 7.58 without bonus points. Not exactly out and out number 1 figures, but would suggest he is decent, and can ride the track.
  5. So 200 coming down, I make that 201 altogether, as there is a Comets fans that comes down every week to Sheffield. Predict a winner, difficult one, but I am going to come of the fence and stick my neck out and say Sheffield will just take all 3 points. And that will leave 200 Comets fans with a long journey back to the home of the Wulfsport jacket.
  6. In the words of the singer Meatloaf. "You took the words right out of my mouth."
  7. I think the vast majority of the Sheffield fans don't blame the Promotion, it was always going to be back to the walls this season with less than half a team signed a month before the start of the season. It will be interesting to see how they fare next season on a level playing field to the rest of the league.
  8. Would find it exceptional difficult to fit in Berntzon as he is Swedish and as it has been pointed out on here on numerous occasions Swedish riders ride regularly in Sweden on Thursdays. Krcmar, is a different proposition, but I have a feeling that if was to come to this country to ride he would be looking to jump into the Elite League.
  9. Having had time to gather my thoughts now here a few of thoughts. Nice to see Andre and Oliie were not as badly hurt as feared. The size of the crowd, when you on the telly yes the crowd did appear to a bit sparse, but when we arrived at the stadium which would be around 07.25pm , the car park was virtually full, which means there was more people at the speedway meeting or the roulette tables of the casino next to the stadium was about to take record takings. My guess is that the massive bar area was pretty full and that was the fans that you would not be able to see. The racing was a bit processional to start with but it did get better much better later on. And one thing that you would expect with the hot weather would be dust, did anyone see any dust? Sheffield, I thought we were carrying to many injured riders especially when a team like Somerset in town. I thought that Andre had his best performance in Sheffield colour's, and Taylor Poole just seems to be getting better and better. Somerset, were good, but in recent years they have always put together good attractive teams. Ollie Allen was once again superb around the Owlerton bowl, and Brady Kurtz definitely looks as though he has something about him. Big Al's comments about Leicester been a better race track than Sheffield really!!!!!!!!! On the whole I thought the new Sheffield Promotion showed that they can put on a show for SKY, and did the Premier League proud and the investments they have made a starting bear fruition, only thing missing now is the results. It will be interesting to see how they fair for next season when they start team building on a level playing field with the rest of the league.
  10. You make me laugh, over 21000 post and you have not learnt that if you make comments to get reaction, then don't be suprised if the replies are not to complimentary. Why not just grow a pair.
  11. Well as long as your happy with a league that consistently dumb's it self down.
  12. Nowt wrong with stating what you prefer, trouble is my friend is that most of us in Premier League are more confident that we will be watching the standard of racing that we prefer in a few years, I wonder if you could say the same? Congratulation to Somerset on their win. My upper most thoughts are with Andre in what was a nasty crash speedy recovery mate. Also speedy recovery to Ollie Allen as well.
  13. Okay i stand corrected, I was under the impression that this kind of incident happen before clearly it is a differing situation. Lesson to be learnt for all Promotion after this kind of incident.
  14. My guess is that they won't. Danny King did not ride a t Newcastle last night, and the other two only have Elite League fixtures and they don't have any fixtures as the Elite has taken a break. I think you will find that the same will have happened in all the other countries as well.
  15. So a re you telling me that this not the first time that this has happened?
  16. Right okay we have established that the trying to get the meeting off is incorrect and I did say I did not believe that one. Your theory that this no worse that traveling for a meeting and the meeting been cancelled due to weather and not getting their entry money back is complete and utter tosh, and you know it. The Promotion does not employ the weather they do employ the medical team and they do have some control over that matter. And hopefully someone will correct me if I am wrong has this not happened before to Workington. If it has then what happened today show a lack of disregard by the Workington management and they should have made plans that when a replacement medical team comes they have the necessary equipment. Like I say if it has happened before then the buck I am afraid stops firmly with the Promotion and for me the club should receive a fine for what has happened. .
  17. That is fine but what about the extra's that go with it, fuel and food etc. There will be Sheffield fans who will be well out of pocket. I do hope that the rumors that Worky wanted the meeting off are untrue as the sport does not need any further controversy, and to be fair I don't think that Laura Morgan and the team are better than that and I don't think that they are like that. But it would be interesting to hear what TaylorJ has to say on the matter as she is very good at condemning other promotions.
  18. Rosco was absolutely spot on with his team selection for this one, choosing Simon Stead was a brave and inspiring choice, especially when you saw Simon take heat 1. A message to Craig Cook, put the dummy back in and grow up and be man.
  19. Yep not the most popular especially after riding Sheffield twice this season and winning 5 out of the 8 races he raced. Mind you the lad does have a lovely smile, maybe Colgate could sponsor him.
  20. Nice to see a good performance from Sam Masters after his match winning performance at Sheffield the night before.
  21. I think there was many Sheffield fans who felt that Lawson was nailed on for Sheffield. To be honest I wasn't, I find him a bit one dimensional, if he gates he wins if don't then he fails.
  22. I don't know usually found Redcar to be very loud, although they have used props in the past via a big bass drum. Berwick can be loud but you spend a lifetime deciphering what they are actually saying. Leicester could be loud when they used to come to Sheffield, but like there track they were boring. Never really heard Workington before, mind you we have one that stands with us every week and she can be a little bit loud when she wants to be, and using my linguistic skills I can actually speak a bit of Cumbrian. But out of that lot I would say Redcar are probably the best have more different songs and more original.
