  1. Jensen average 5.92, Andersen 5.6. What's the problem? I think it's called 'astute management'.
  2. I will make a confident prediction.......... it'll be cold! Apart from that, who knows? Morris,Summers and Lawson should be a match for Brady,Josh and Richie. Rasmus may just outscore the Tigers' reserves, so that leaves Paul and Chas against Niemenin and Palovaara. Much will depend on how fit Niemenin is. In the past he has scored well at the OTA, but that was a few years ago. Hoping Rebels by 8 or more, and doing enough to keep it close on Sunday and scrape through.
  3. Can only endorse what has already been said. Monarchs were slightly flattered by the scoreline, due to heat 12, and a tad disappointing in all honesty, apart from Mr Cook, who was in a different league to everyone else. I have never seen anyone so dominant round the OTA, including the likes of Doyle and Zetterstrom. He received a well-deserved ovation after heat 15 from the Rebels fans on the back straight, and it was good to see him applauding them back in acknowledgment. Class all round. An 8 point lead is unlikely to be enough, especially if Wolbert is back, but you never know. I don't believe Margaret Vardy is Scottish - she's from the Midlands I think. But it was still a poor decision.
  4. Sorry, but how does your premise that 'guests are a necessary evil' work with only one EL racenight? What happens when a team's no.1 is unavailable for any reason? Where do they get hold of a suitable guest, if all other teams are racing on the same night?
  5. Play-offs starting in October? What could possibly go wrong?
  6. Brady rides on the edge, pushing the limits and scraping the fence every race - even when he's miles in front. Very exciting/nerve-wracking to watch but that's what I pay my money to see! Occasionally he gets it wrong, like on the last bend of heat 15 last night, thus 'gifting' Ipswich the point they thoroughly deserved IMO, but it was his 'on the edge' racing that got him past King in the first place. And if anyone with any influence at the OTA reads this, can they do something about the million-watt spotlight that hits you as you leave the arena. All it does is blind you for 30 seconds as you enter the darkness of the car park. An accident waiting to happen. Apart from that, a great night's entertainment!
  7. Beautiful, if a little breezy, just for a change.
  8. Could he not just get 'injured' before each home meeting - R/R would score far more You're right, he is scoring well away from the OTA - particularly when guesting for other teams!
  9. if he had played the odds as you suggest, he would have lost because of Wells' troubles and would have been castigated for missing the opportunity of using the TR. Tough call, could have gone either way - bit harsh to say that call cost us the match.
  10. If Garry hadn't used the TR in ht10, it would have been a 2-4, we would only be 8 behind come ht11, so no TR would be available. Unless he ordered Richie and Charles to only get a 3-3 in ht10. Very risky strategy. But whether he should have given it to Richie instead of Charles is another matter entirely. As for Brady, brilliant though he is, it isn't the first time his impetuousity has cost him/us. But he's young and he will learn.
  11. ...............then I woke up. It was just a bad dream. Phew! Chance to restore order quickly tonight - just as the Monarchs did at Glasgow recently.
  12. Brady scored 13 for us at Redcar recently - obvious first choice as guest. Maybe he turned it down? I see the Monarchs have got him for Saturday at Plymouth though. Bit closer to home maybe? Not sure I like our boys scoring so many points for our main rivals.
  13. Monarchs must be confident - Richie Worrall for Masters again when they could have had Brady Kurtz?
  14. Mmmbop. Think you'll find it's Hall. Got the first 2 letters right tho'. Well done!
  15. I read the preview before posting, and I didn't see that. Are you sure that bit wasn't added later? If not, I apologise unreservedly and will get my eyes tested immediately. Probably due an eye-test actually, I am after all about 5000 years old or so!
  16. Found it now on the Devil's site. Shame there's still nothing on the Rebel's site. Good choice nonetheless.
  17. Brady missing both legs of this tie (Fri and Sat) due to World U21's. Nick Morris in on Friday for him - should be enough to get a lead to take to Plymouth on Sat. We'll need one as we seem to be the only team who can't get a result down there. Hope we get Kennett or Ostergaard to guest in the return. Teams: Somerset - N. Morris J. Grajczonek R. Worrall C. Wright L. Lanham P. Starke O. Greenwood Plymouth - R. Fisher K. Newman J. Holder M. Risager T. Kurtz Z. Simota R. Benko Not in riding order obviously.
  18. Could stiil meet them in the play-offs too. Brady must be favourite for the PLRC at Sheffield come September. Looks like he's going to qualify as no.1 for 3 different teams.
  19. Glad to be proven wrong. If we can get points at Foxhall, then we can get points anywhere. Happy days!
  20. I doubt it will matter who Ipswich have guesting at reserve - no matter how strong the Rebels look on paper, they always lose heavily at Foxhall for some reason. Can't believe it will be any different this time, but hope I'm wrong.
  21. Really? You're thinking of Timo Latte Great result against a weak-looking Scunny side, but let's not get carried away, even Redcar won there! And Benji needs to be put out of his misery - but who is there to replace him?
  22. Vissing, Aspegren, Mellgren and Boxall have all scored well at the OTA in the past, so it wouldn't surprise me to see the Rockets get a point here at least. Shame there's no Kennett, but this is still a much stronger Rockets team than in recent years. Rebels to win, but by less than 10!
  23. Never a happy hunting ground for the Rebels - not sure why? Anything but a heavy defeat will be a pleasant surprise.
