  1. Thursday May 12, 2016 COVENTRY Storm bid for a hat-trick of wins when they face Kings Lynn at Brandon on Friday in the Travel Plus National League (7.30pm). Victory for the City Gearboxes Storm could elevate them to second position in the league table following last weekends successes against Cradley and Stoke. The Storm are at full strength for the meeting, with Liam Carr showing no ill effects from the crash he suffered in Heat 15 last week against the Heathens. Carr was still able to ride in his Premier League meetings over the weekend for Berwick as scheduled, and he returns to the Storm team after Danny Ayres stood in successfully at Loomer Road. Second-strings Conor Dwyer and Ryan Terry-Daley will also be looking to keep their form going, with both set to post impressive advances on their average when new figures come into effect on Saturday a comment also applicable to fast-improving reserve Jamie Halder. Kings Lynn arrive with a team showing just one change from 2015 with Nathan Greaves, previously of Cradley and in fact a former Coventry mascot, signed over the winter to replace Jake Knight. The Young Stars have two impressive teenage talents in Josh Bailey and Ryan Kinsley, with the former having piled up 16+1 from reserve in the corresponding fixture at Brandon last August. He is now scoring heavily in the main body of the Lynn team. Dale Allitts side had made an encouraging start to the season before suffering a heavy home defeat to Birmingham on Wednesday, and the Storm will need to be aware of a possible backlash. Boss Laurence Rogers said: We had most of the lads together all day last Friday, and what was very noticeable was the amazing team spirit. Had we not lost through circumstances at home to Buxton we would have been sitting at the top of the table last weekend. But third spot after those wins is still a good start, and three more points on Friday will strengthen our position. Fridays meeting is also followed by a six-heat MDL second half between the Coventry Vikings and Kings Lynn Lightning, plus 125cc demo races. Weather looking good for tonight 👍🏻
  2. Injured himself Danny King Not a great night 4 me last night. Aggravated my shoulder when I crashed, Physio for me 2day 😩. We got a lead to protect 2morrow 👊🏻 #witches
  3. I disagree. I think both have potential. However away from home Garrity should be stronger. Also on good equipment, Garrity is beating stronger riders e.g Doyle,Kylmakorpi,Buzz to name a few.
  4. Some good scores from Coventry riders with their PL clubs tonight Garrity. 3,3,3,1 = 10 Bates 2,3,3,2. = 10 Sarjeant 0,3,3,3 = 9 King. 2,1,1,1 = 5
  5. Some interesting changes for teams from 16th May (it's hard to take this season seriously) Belle Vue - Richie Worrall moves to reserve whilst His brother moves to a 2nd string. Coventry - Woryna moves to reserve and Bates moves in to the main team King's Lynn - no change Lakeside: No change Leicester - no change Poole - Pedersen moves to reserve and Ellis moves back to reserve whilst Newman finally moves in to the top 5 Swindon - surprisingly no change as apparently Tungate is only a 4 average still. Wolves- Bech moves to reserve! Whilst Lindgren becomes a heatleader & Howarth a 2nd string.
  6. Great response on Twitter. Plus Glasgow speedway, Leicester Lions & Scunthorpe speedway have signed & shared. Please keep signing & sharing with friends & family 👍🏻
  7. It will be interesting to see how they do once Tungate moves back into the top 5 on Monday. Good win tonight though
  8. It's going to take Belle Vue a very meetings to settle at home as they have no home advantage yet. They also haven't had many meetings yet
  9. Update (9th May averages) Most teams stay the same. King's Lynn replace Rory with Batchelor taking their team total to 40.38 Wolves have Howarth, JK & Bech as heatleaders, Lindgren & Thorssell as 2nd strings and Masters & Clegg at reserve.
  10. Yes it was a good meeting. The track produced some great races
  11. Thanks 👍🏻 lets home we can all come together to make a difference 🙏🏼
  12. https://www.change.org/p/rugby-borough-council-save-coventry-stadium?recruiter=538936898&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=share_twitter_responsive A new petition has been started to be given to Rugby council.
  13. Chris Simpson has offered to come back and help with music. Please can Horton take him up on it! Locomotion & old versions of shoop shoop song were a music low tonight. Chris Simpson made the presentation and music more current and helped create the atmosphere. I would personally prefer him on the mic anyday than Yorke.
  14. A new petition has been started tonight that will be given to Rugby council. Speedway at Brandon has been in place for so many years and it would be terrible to see it disappear. Without Brandon, it sadly looks like this will be Coventry's last year. 😕 Please sign & share 👍🏻🐝 https://www.change.org/p/rugby-borough-council-save-coventry-stadium?recruiter=140560865&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=share_page&utm_term=mob-xs-share_petition-custom_msg&fb_ref=Default
  15. The decision was shocking. He should have been excluded. The clock was put on late and then when he missed it and they put it on again, they turned it off. He had about 6 minutes in the end! Before I went tonight, looking at the two team line ups, I thought we would lose again. However even with a shocker from the bees reserves we managed to win it. KK was brilliant & good to see King back scoring. The team spirit looked better in the pits. Shame the crowd wasn't as good as it could have been but I'm glad I went. Some really good racing and a good meeting. I found some of Lindgren's moves very dangerous. The reserves are a concern for bees I did hear from a reliable source tonight that Horton had contacted Lindback, Kildemand, Zengota and Smolinski and none of them want to ride in the uk.
  16. Only thing we get is frustrated. I'm not too fussed about offers, I'm more concerned that I have paid in advance to watch us lose every week 🙈
  17. 🙈 We have a team where 5 of them have a 5pt average or below. Not even sure we would Make the play offs in the PL with this team.
  18. No chance. I haven't missed a home meeting this season and honestly Phil, this has to be one of the weakest bees teams I have seen. We used a TR against Swindon who are a lot weaker than wolves and still lost. Our team now has 5 riders with a 5pt average or less and it shows. Do you have any idea about the Howarth/Masters situation?
  19. Due to new averages, Wolves will tomorrow have JK, Howarth & Bech as heatleaders. Lindgren and Thorsell as 2nd strings whilst they have Sam Masters & Ashley Morris at reserve. However these new averages are not showing on the updated ones on the BSPA site. They still have Howarth at reserve from 2nd? Masters should clean up at reserve. Really shows how bad Coventry's team planning was when you look at the fact we have a team of 4 riders all 5pt riders or less. Prediction: easy away win 31-58 Think this will be a 3rd home TR for the bees in a row 😞
  20. It's National league. I would be more worried if he wasn't far in front in each race.
  21. Looking a bit bleak for Harris at the moment 😕 Nick Morris is having a shocker
  22. I thought they always picked the strongest Brits from EL and then those from PL with highest averages. Ellis has achieved his as a reserve and has yet to prove himself in the main team which might be why. He also is a NL rider not PL.
  23. I thought the offer was for those who attended the Storm meeting? Good that tickets have been reduced but not very good that it wasn't announced before the storm meeting rather than day after. No change is being made for Coventry then. We welcome back a 4pt rider in Woryna and they think that strengthens us. 👎🏻
  24. Congratulations Coventry Storm on a good home win 👍🏻
