Swindon 2016 - A New Era Starts...we Thought..
mdmc82 replied to dump that clutch's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Very true 😉 -
He wouldn't be signed as a number one. Batchelor would be King Lynn's number 1 and Barker would be a second string

Where is the British final this year?

There had been talk of Tungate to Swindon for a few days -
Batchelor would be your number one. Barker would be your 2nd string based on averages
-
As a Coventry fan, I would love Larsen in my team. I'm hoping that once new averages come in during May and the heatleaders list doesn't count, if we need to make a change then we could bring in Zengi or him (nor likely I know)
-
As you will see if you read what I wrote, I said "quite a few" not all! I think Doyle & AJ are good number ones. Holder, KK & Zagar have the talent but have had times where they have struggled. Klymakorpi is a good rider but not a number one imo esp away from home. Batchelor should be capable of mixing it with them all, if King's Lynn can get the best out of him. I think a break from Rosco will do him some good.

Whilst Barker isn't the signing a lot would be hoping for, king's Lynn do have a number 1 in Batchelor. He is capable of being a good rider but needs to focus. Maybe we will see that happen now he has different people around him. When you look at the number ones for the 8 teams this year, quite a few of them are riders who can be unpredictable or have struggled for form in the past. Belle Vue- Zagar Coventry - Kaspazak Lakeside - AJ Leicester- Ulamek? Poole. - Holder Swindon- Doyle Wolves- Klymakorpi
-
He was never on the draft list. Batchelor would then be the number 1 for King's Lynn but surely they would be a lot under the limit. Nothing confirmed yet
-
That's the same name I have been hearing which would give them a top 5 of Batchelor, Lambert, Schlein, Mads & Barker
-
So now that King's Lynn are no longer using their own assets in Lewis Kerr and Simon Lambert at reserve, Carl Wilkinson will miss the following fixtures due to clashes with Scunthorpe: 7th April. Coventry (H) 2nd May Belle Vue (A) 30th May. Wolves (A) 17th June. Coventry (A) 11th Aug. Poole (H) 25th Aug. Wolves (H) 29th Aug. Wolves (A) I have heard both Barker & Stead mentioned as the final rider to complete the line up but could just be rumours as nothing confirmed. Neither are number 1s.

Confirmed Elite League Signings 2016
mdmc82 replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Lakeside are having no problem, losing track how many they have in their team. I see Kings Lynn are now on their 3rd Tier 1 draft rider and the season hasn't even started yet -
Thank you
-
I don't think they are strong at reserve but think they have a good top 5.However it will be interesting to see how they get on this year with no home advantage.
-
That will all depend on which Howarth turns up. For the second half of Last season, Kyle was getting beaten by most reserves including guests from the NL. Wolves will do well if Howarth & Lindgren are able to find form
-
When is the cut off date that the teams have to be declared by?
-
♣Fixture Change♣ The Aces v Coventry fixture scheduled for Saturday 7th May will now take place on Friday 2nd September.

Not a very exciting team on paper
-
1.Poole 2.Belle Vue 3.Swindon 4.Wolves 5.Coventry 6.Lakeside (Not much between these 3) 7. King's Lynn 8. Leicester
-
Most teams are now complete, with the exception of one rider each for King's Lynn & Leicester (plus however many more Lakeside add to their "squad") Looking at the teams, how do you predict they will finish the season if each stick with their starting line up?
-
Really. Surprising choice. Rate him highly in the NL but think it weakens Belle Vue at reserve in the EL

TWO of the worlds top speedway riders are set to line-up in Glasgow after the club secured a glamour friendly to start the season. Chris Bomber Harris, the experienced Speedway Grand Prix star and three-time British Champion, will lead Elite League side Coventry Bees north to face the Tigers on Sunday, March 27. Cornishman Harris who finished fifth in the 2010 world championship and takes part again in 2016 will be joined by the four-time World Cup champion and 2014 world No 2 Krzysztof Kasprzak, of Poland. The 31-year-old has numerous international honours to his name including three Grand Prix victories. Also making the trip will be the hotly sought-after Pole Kacper Woryna, 19, who is set to make his UK debut in 2016, having been recommended to the Bees by their two top men. He was part of his countrys under-21 side that won last years European Championship. Meanwhile, 2015 Tigers favourite James Sarjeant will make a swift return to the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium with the Bees. His fellow Englishman Danny King a former Ashfield track record holder will complete a potent top five for Coventry, one that will be among the strongest ever seen at Glasgow. Both Jason Garrity and Josh Bates will miss out as they are racing for Sheffield on the same day, but the visitors plan to promote two riders from their National League side, Coventry Storm, into the reserve berths. - See more at: http://www.glasgowtigers.co/buzz-over-season-opener/#sthash.dTpvudnP.dpuf

BEES TO VISIT GLASGOW Sunday January 31, 2016 COVENTRY will head North on Easter Sunday after agreeing a Challenge fixture with Premier League title hopefuls Glasgow. The Buildbase Bees will visit the impressive Peugeot Ashfield Stadium on Sunday March 27 (3pm start) as the Tigers launch their new campaign against Elite League opposition. It will be the Bees first trip north of the border in six years, as they also visited Glasgow early in the 2010 season where a weakened team was on the receiving end of a surprise 45-48 defeat. Since then, the Tigers stadium has undergone a huge transformation with Gerry and Michael Facenna taking over the club last winter and overseeing a programme of wholesale improvements. Those improvements have extended to on-track business too, with Glasgow reaching the Premier League Grand Final last season and with a powerful top four for 2016 comprising Richard Lawson, Richie Worrall and former Bees duo Aaron Summers and Ben Barker, they will be hotly tipped for another successful campaign. Coventry will travel without Jason Garrity and Josh Bates, who have a League Cup commitment with Sheffield at Scunthorpe on that afternoon. Details of replacements will be announced in due course. And for James Sarjeant, it will be a rapid return to his Premier League club of last season, as he achieved a 5.00 average for the Tigers before making the switch to Ipswich for the coming campaign. The match completes a busy Easter schedule for the Bees, as they also face back-to-back Elite League encounters with local rivals Leicester, racing at Brandon on Good Friday, March 25, before the return at the Jordan Road Surfacing Stadium the following evening.
