  1. With such an excellent line up, unfortunately its looking like the least supported opening event of the season. Surely instead of advertising it to the converted, time needs to be spent now in ACTUALLY PROMOTING speedway to the un initiated. After the debacle of attendance and third bend temporary stand at the Speedway of Nations, now something must be done. When the best British Speedway track cannot attract spectators, then what does the future hold. Ticket pricing must also be taken into consideration as it definitely is with many fans I know who cant afford present prices.
  2. So according to your philosophy when this existing generation pops their clogs, speedway is done? Whether it be magazines, internet, book or stone etchings on tablets everyone needs to wake up and embrace the new technology and push our great sport forward and stop digging the grave deeper. It can be done and the sport re invented, just some bright spark to have the right idea and do it instead of continually living in the past. For me snooker is just as dire and boring as it has always been, but it gets worldwide coverage and enormous sponsorship. Darts is more about the personal experience at tournaments and a happy bunch of pi22heads attending and look at the media coverage. Speedway is far more exciting but it needs a guru to drag it into this year and help them exploit the potential it has.
  3. I suggest that anyone with any interest how the Mildenhall Speedway Supporter CIC has to operate take a look at what is required by visiting Community Interest Companies Guidance - GOV.UK Everything is very clear on what can and cannot be done. I took time to read and follow certain FAQ and found out what I needed without bothering anyone.
  4. Lets face reality and put it as it is. The Speedway Star caters for the 50-70+ age bracket. With 2 articles on Anders Rowe - thought I had early signs of dementia after reading first article and the a few days later realising their were 2 articles. Nothing wrong with the West Ham memories, but to include details of Australia test match in same issue? Might be good reads, but for which age group? How can British Speedway Improve- Well lets deliver a magazine that entices a new generation to buy it as something is in it that is actually relevant to the new youth generation.
  5. This a Mildenhall 2025 potential return topic. So why not just stick to the actual subject. Stop deviating and get behind the actual potential return of a speedway track and embrace it.
  6. Are their any further updates on National Development Trophy application or Safety Barriers?
  7. Well with the latest post from Mildenhall, it looks like nothing is insurmountable. That is great news. Now lets hope all the 3.1k Mildenhall Fen Tigers Speedway Facebook followers can contribute a little to bring back a much loved and missed speedway track and team.
  8. Wow, those pictures look pretty foreboding. Will have to be one hell of a safety fence to overcome requirements and no doubt it will be expensive. Hope all goes well for the return irrespective of the new obstacle.
  9. Any further updates on the Western Row Front?
  10. Finally looking at the bigger picture and a realistic time to encourage families to come and enjoy speedway. This also gives the team to have all riders available from other commitments with Championship sides. Well done to all and hope attendances reflect the optimism.
  11. With the NDT teams being announced for participation in the 2025 season by British Speedway, what next? Hopefully this is not the end and with so much support and interest of a track return, surely a way back is possible?
  12. With all the links on the website which actually lead to nothing, Please can anyone do a simplistically link to sign up to supporting Mildenhall speedway. Far too complicated for us mere morons?
  13. Wishing everyone concerned at todays meeting all the success you deserve for the time and effort being put in 👍 Please let all know what's happening after the meeting!
  14. What everyone is thinking is just so negative! On the plus side Wood and Marson will be gaining valuable track time with having 2 teams to ride for and this will only enhance their experience as lack of bike and track time does impede riding standards. Also Marson will be released mid season and if significant improvement could dislodge a Monarch Championship reserve. Coles and McGurk could also slot into the Championship reserve berth at some stage. Fundamentally it is all about track time and using the riders available.
  15. From the lyrics of Ernie by Benny Hill Poor Ernie (Ernie) And he drove the fastest milkcart in the west One lunchtime Ted saw Ernie's horse and cart outside her door It drove him mad to find it was still there at half past four And as he leaped down from of his van Hot blood through his veins did course And he went across to Ernie's cart And he didnarf kick his horse Who's name was Trigger (Trigger) And he pulled the fastest milkcart in the west Do not think it would be quite appropriate eh!
  16. Realistically regarding the maths, it could be:- Jack Smith 3.73, Connor Coles 3.33 or Ben Trigger 3.08. Anyone of these three would be a good investment and reliable scores.
  17. Well with Ghost teams such as Newcastle being allowed to ride again, surely a challenge match could be arranged?
  18. Could you elaborate? Great to see the endeavour behind the project and hopefully it will be well supported. Quite an achievement having it covered by the BBC in the first place. Well done to all concerned.
  19. This brilliant and now they need the support of the Whole Speedway Community. With the losses of so many tracks we need to do whatever is necessary to ensure this happens. The relevant Authorities must understand that it is in their best interests to support this venture......Surely?
  20. Saw a post on Facebook about a meeting on 26 January 2025 to discuss a potential track return this year? This is fantastic news, can anyone elaborate further?
  21. Potentially on 26 March at Wimborne Road a spectacular clash of the titans of speedway could take place? With such a early season meeting and riders availability at a high, we could see the likes of Robert Lambert, Bartosz Zmarzlik or even Artem Laguta lining up. Now this would be spectacular and a meeting worth attending and an attendance at a record high to pay the guests?
  22. Absolute practical solution, but remember something so simple would never work, remember this is Speedway 🤣
  23. Who know, but!!! Ben Trigger 8.71 Kai Ward 3.58 Sam McGurk 5.56 Chad Wirtzfeld 5.20 Connor Coles 8.00 Luke Muff 2.00 Alex Spooner 2.29 35.34
  24. MANCHESTER HOSTS GP DOUBLE – British Speedway Official Website Well what a shock?
