Looking at the Big Bucks signings, their is nothing this league will offer to any new comers or development. Lets Make Lots of Money League, going back to the Heathen days.

British Youth Championships at Belle Vue are not stand alone meetings and follow Colts matches. Where you get 20 people watching shows how little you follow the events. Watching the new stars learning and honing their skills is essential to British Speedway and I can assure you I have never seen as few as 20 spectators at any event. If the clubs do not want to cough up for the future stars then shame on them and sod them when they come calling for the next hot prospect. Can you name one rider who actually started in the begining at Belle Vue recently and made an impact on the sport?

From parents and competitors competing in the BYC it is the only venue that charges the competitors to ride, unlike other venues. Is this correct?

As per statement on British Speedway website:- All NDL regulations are subject to SCB approval. As part of the British Development regulations, all clubs not competing in the National Development League must participate in at least one of the following alternatives during the season: National League Riders Development Individual, Midland Development League, Northern Junior League, Second Half Open Invitation or a standalone British Youth Championship Round. Now I wonder when such previous like statements have been made and not adhered to?

Just like the Promoters Conference was, Ipswich take over is and National League declarations are. So nothing new in speedway circles, just a continual roundabout and waiting for Zebadee 🤣
-
Not sure if I remember correctly but Belle Vue CEO might have mentioned in Speedway Star that the Colts were not financially viable.
-
Irrespective of who or anybody signing him, would he be eligible for The British Final?
-
So with Oxford selling season tickets including 5 NDL fixtures and Buxton, who are the 6 other teams that the BSP envisage coming to the tapes this season?
-
Wonder who the riders actually paid to make it all go away?
-
So is it okay that after a young lady is sexually abused the perpetrators are all still actively involved in speedway?
-
I do not know if you have actually read the the Speedway Star article, where the closing paragraph is as follows:- Jason Garitty can be contacted initially through Facebook or via Gary Havelock.
-
Let him/her/they/them, without sin cast the first stone. Not condoning anything he has done. Can anyone with hand on heart say they have never been given a second chance?

Think someone needs to give their head a wobble! Drug and drink driving cause DEATHS...................Period.

Sir Philip joins Speedway Futures
secsy1 replied to Youhave2minutes's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
To help ensure more TV coverage and new growth plan, cameras will be at Dover to welcome the rubber dinghy's ensuring the TV coverage continues and investment opportunities brought in with the Illegal immigrants pledging their income to speedway futures. This is the farce British Speedway finds itself in! -
Great idea, lets help them maintain their strangle hold on the sport as they dictate the continual demise of speedway by stipulating race days/nights and hold the riders to account!!!!!!!!!!!!

How a one league system could work for 2027 onwards
secsy1 replied to Falcon1983's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
A really well thought out plan, but the main element is missing to enable any of this to ever happen................FANS. -
With a dwindling and ageing supporter base, what does the Speedway Star offer to entice the younger generation to purchase it? The same goes basically to most speedway teams, what do they offer to entice the next generation of fans?
-
I will not dispute any of your estimates relating to alleged rider income or expenses, but all relates to the rider being full time I assume? Reality sucks and for any rider to assume a full time income from speedway in Britain in todays present climate has not done their sums on viability. Whether or not their is a Premiership and a Championship, only a potential few will make ends meet, unless they have a generous sponsorship deal. With little interest, the dwindling fan base is a reality and they actually pay the riders. Personally I now only watch NDL and NDT matches and could not care less about over paid, alleged top riders making up the numbers at various Premier teams.

What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
secsy1 replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If the Premiership are so concerned about having 6 teams in 2026, then why not contact Isle of Wight or Mildenhall. Surely if the desperation level is so high, then subsidizing either for a season would be worth the long term goal 🤣 -
Although nothing is settled regarding Premiership participation in 2026, the Championship team declarations are well under way. Have any of the Championship sides decided to declare their participation in either Development Leagues so far?
-
Where theirs a will theirs a way. Look at what's happening at Buxton. Marvellous volunteers, sacrificing weekends to achieve a desired goal. The return of speedway, superb and well done and success to everyone involved. So it could be done if people really want speedway back in Peterborough. I certainly do and to anyone or group who decide to take this on, GOOD LUCK and hopefully I will be at the relaunch.

Expectation levels by both riders and fans is the root of all the existing problems. Riders are asking ridiculous pay scales, making many of them unemployable even though they are the ones putting life and limbs at risk every time they ride. Fans are more often than not, expected to pay through the nose for sometimes second rate presented meetings and short entertainment value at embarrassingly long drawn out meetings. Forget league structure for a minute and take a long hard look at the factors above. Potentially a rider salary cap and a feasable entry fee at all tracks in each respective league.
-
Lets face it, presently all the top riders have machinery in each of the main leagues of Europe and travel extensively between them, so no extra cost. 4 or 5 British teams in it instead of a Premiership and an open invitation to Danish, Swedish, German, Latvian, Polish and any other country prepared to enter. Potentially 6 man teams and a fixed Monday and Thursday race night. Other minor details to be squabbled about, but just a thought!

How`s everyone done this season?
