  1. dont worry about hijacking the thread - anything is better than discussing a likely pumping from the pussycats!
  2. Looks like some good news as the persistent rain seems to be predicted for the weekend instead now.
  3. Need the weather forecasts to change or there wont be any action anyway. Hope it goes ahead as it would mean another 10 gap til we try again against Sheffield on the 23rd! If its on the Panthers must be favourites to turn us over.
  4. The rule states 'only the one with the highest MA' can move into the 1-5. Unfortunately it doesnt specify if this means the one highest at the start of the season or the highest of either at any point. Bournemouth Echo version would mean only the higher rider at the start can move up (badly written in regs if so) How the regs read if using a literal meaning is that either can but only one (the highest) at a time.
  5. It would seem logical in some ways for it to be the LC to ensure those fixtures are completed in a timely manner. However if we are already knocked out effectively anyway then keeping it as the PL at least means that the main comp is done and dusted and reduces the risk that come play off time a meeting is still outstanding.
  6. Weather forecast for Thursday isnt looking too promising so the disjointed start could become no home meeting for 5 weeks if that date is lost as well. Light rain forecast from 10am to 10pm on a number of sites with the prediction for this rain between 50 and 90% depending on which one you believe!!
  7. Frustrating start to the year. Disjointed due to 3 planned blank Thursdays and a rain off in the first month. Illness and or injury for 3. Danny seems to be struggling with set ups. Nico seems to be the only one firing consistently. Still too early to panic but unfortunately the signs are not too positive to say the least!
  8. There is always a way. Not able to drop him but if he quits.....Isnt it that a rider has to return next year on the assessed average and not that it cant drop during this season anyway?? Poor result for the Witches tonight - only vaguely respectable due to Nico. I had planned to update my signature line but may as well leave it it seems.......
  9. I think the reg is that you cant drop an assessed rider. Potentially different if the rider is injured long term.
  10. Rumour is PK costs about £100 a lap regardless whether he scores or not. Fancy a bit of that?
  11. Ashley did a more than decent job at Ipswich last season. Good to see him back in a PL place even if it is only short term. Hope he picks up a long term place somewhere for the rest of the season once this stint is done.
  12. 17.5.1 is the point where the ambiguity lies. 'The one with the highest MA' is how it is written but there is no clarification as to if this relates to the initial declaration only. If it is dynamic then at each average update either EDR could move up.
  13. What a difference a day makes! Just walked the dogs and had a great view of a sun soaked shimmering River Orwell. Bright blue sky with just a few wisps of cloud and no coat needed!
  14. If we had stayed in the EL then it is entirely possible we wouldnt be riding on any day of the week by now. We may well have been on that growing sad list of towns that used to run speedway. Dont blame the club last night. Very little rain until 7. Only started to get heavier about 7.15. If they had called off in the afternoon and the rain not turned up til 10 as many forecasts stated they wouldve looked foolish.
  15. Track a bit greasy as you would expect but seems fine at the moment. Deceptive though until a wheel is turned in anger so can see what its like under the top surface.
  16. Just in and it seems heavier inside than it was 30 secs ago in the car park! Has to be a big doubt now IMO.
  17. although 'forecast' is really the wrong word once its actually happening!
  18. well if you cant work out the words there seems little point in adding numbers to the debate......Hopefully Holub will be fit to rode on Thursday for you and it wont matter. Always good to have a plan B though...
  19. Quite unbelievable considering how the last few days have been and how the next few are forecast afetr that 5 hour window!! Even more frustrating with no meeting planned for Thursday either. Peterborough on the 14th is the next home match on the list.
  20. No - to both. Anyone that thought my comments were about the crash itself is in a very blissful place!
