Warsaw Gp Saturday 18th April

Wet, very very wet. The sort of conditions were it is correct to call off a meeting. In those conditions riders can't see, riding blind in mud is very dangerous. -

It was actually called of earlier in the day and was reinstated at the insistence of the BSPA because time was running out in the season. PC, as you say, effectively had his career ended and Chris Morton also took a knock. -

Points Money....
oldace replied to Christopher Bcmma Cook's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It is rumored that Matej Zagar is on £3000.00 per meeting for Belle Vue irrespective of points scored. A top Elite league rider will probably be on around £200.00 plus a point. A reserve in the Premier League maybe only £30.00 ish per point. For the lower order riders a lot depends on how their average fits into the intended teams 1 - 7. If they in demand then it, naturally, ups the asking price -

You can get flight, accommodation and ticket in Poland cheaper than a ticket and travel to Kings Lynn ? -

The repercussions I was suggesting as far as the riders go would be the withholding of prize monies for this event. -
Don't get smart with me, once I have sorted Sidney out at Swindon on Thursday I may make a little trip up to Sunderland next!!!!!

Yeh spot on Ian. Best to make lifestyle changes based on the words of someone you dont know on an unrelated internet forum.

If you want a refund you can get one. That is a certainty. Terms and conditions are irrelevant if they contain unreasonable clauses. To sell an item and say we may decide only to give you half of it, is unreasonable and you would, if you took the matter further get your £20.00 (or whatever it was) back. It will of course cost you time and money to do it and no one in their right mind would bother individually. Collectively it is more realistic but even still not really viable. In the case of being ripped off for a small amount and the seller does not refund you, the only realistic course of action is to not use their services again. Chances are, in this case, refunds, or partial refunds will be forthcoming -

It has nothing to do with being license holders. In all cases the contract exists between the party that paid the money and the party that received it. If there are refunds they will come from the PZM who in turn, if there is a case, will claim against BSI. The riders have simply unleashed a beast here and I wouldn't be so sure they will be exempt from any repercussions. They are contractually obliged to the GPs and to simply withdraw your services at a moments notice is unacceptable -

I would imagine BSI are not in a position to talk about refunds. The PZM were the event organizers and your contract is with them, not BSI. -

Of course it is. Like a few of us have been saying all along while others preferred not to believe the evidence of their own eyses and go along with the unfit track cobblers. The green light start should not have been an issue though and it is clearly laid out in the rules as an alternative when the gate malfunctions. Of course the reality is it ultimately comes down to weak officials allowing the riders to decide if a meeting carries on or not. -

You don't need to keep repeating it, we are all quite aware who's jurisdiction the decision to cancel comes under. Look who that Jury is though. Tony Steele. Well we saw him in action at Belle Vue v Poole last year with the infamous "moisture coming out of the track" nonsense once heat 10 was reached. He clearly showed he was merely a puppet dancing to a tune that night. A weak individual who allows himself to be manipulated. Jim Lawrence By heat 12 Jim was flailing like a drowning man and was probably happy to have it stopped and be put out of his misery. The other member (a Pole I believe) I am not aware of so can't comment on his credentials However it is dressed up and whoever s decision the call off ultimately was, the reality, as we all know, is that rider power got that GP cancelled and that is wholly unacceptable -

I dont play any games Sidney, but I can accept being wrong without getting in a tizzy. Actually along with your rants you often make valid contributions that I find myself agreeing with. Your assertion earlier re Wembley 81 was a point I agree 100% with. You seem to have a good knowledge of the sport in the main but you are so hostile when anyone disagrees with you. Anyway about that fight, Thursday ok with you -

So you think that at heat 12 the jury decided the track wasn't safe and the ruders disappeared into a meeting to convince them otherwise. Yeh right. The riders decided they were not carrying on and railroaded a weak jury into going along with them. -

Those that wanted to race simply had to be ready to race when their next heat came round. If they chose to follow, sheep like, then they are as guilty as the others -

The only part that could be termed a shambles was the starting tapes not working, and it need not have been an issue. By the interval I thought it was shaping up to be a pretty good GP -

Nobody paid BSI any money to attend. The event was run by the PZM not BSI. The refunds, if there are any, are not BSIs jurisdiction -

Well it appears you might be. It may have escaped your notice but the riders are not the ones who have been shafted here. They were given a superb venue and a perfectly adequate (going by the way they raced on it I would say pretty good, but we will stick with adequate) track on which to ply their trade yet for some inexplicable reason they elected to stage a mass walkout. Starting by green light can't be the reason, it is a minor inconvenience but nothing more. The race track was fine so what was the agenda ? As it stands, although I hope the riders are severely punished and at the very least lose any prize monies from this event, these clowns haven't lost out on anything with their antics. The riders almost certainly won't be gagged, in fact they are probably now realizing the seriousness of what they have done and are keeping schtumm in case legal action is instigated.
