  1. Sad reflection on the sport I'm afraid. Its the main reason why the sport is struggling in Britain.
  2. Sorry Steve but you're living in the past. Would agree with you wholeheartedly pre 2011 but not now. Monmore is a shadow of what it was. Not the fault of the promotion or the track curator I may add
  3. Sorry its a bit late but a few impressions of Wednesday night. Firstly well done Belle Vue,had trouble buying a ticket on line but one phone call all sorted by their obliging staff. After a nightmare journey from the midlands , plenty of parking, and smooth quick ticket collection and onto back straight terrace. Was able to buy a beer without all the tops off bottle rubbish. Walked on to the terrace in my Wolves shirt only to get a few boo's from a family behind me. The meeting and track were first class and if Belle Vue had acquitted themselves a bit better in the first leg I have no doubt they would have won. What did surprise me was the hostility of the home fans who seemed more interested in booing the away riders on there way to the tapes. While I have sympathy for Belle Vue topping the league, we are all aware of the play off system. Not only this but the guy in the box kept repeating himself saying Belle Vue were best team all year "we didn't do what Poole did " "we didn't have to bring the World Champion in " etc . My sympathy for Belle Vue's predicament was starting to wear off the longer the stadium announcer went on. But overall a good night with top racing. And lastly thanks to Sky sports for making us wait 20 minutes between heats 14 and 15 to fit their TV schedules . CHEERS, we do have homes to got to .
  4. Think he was eluding to that 7 home fixtures in a season once a week is less than 2 months in total . There is some substance to this as only a very small minority now attend away matches.
  5. Its probably the best prepared, but for racing it is a pale shadow of what it used to be . No fault of Wolves or the track curator. Armando and his cronies at the F.I.M are to blame
  6. Dear Elite League, Please set your league up it to suit me. and some of my fellow GP mercenries alone Maximum of 14 meetings a year only. Any more is burnout Single race night as long as its not Tuesday , Friday, Saturday or Sunday , I'm doing other stuff Oodles of cash, make it worth my while. If not then stuff the Elite league, stuff the World Cup and stuff your training schools. Yours sincerely Tai Woffinden. PS if my Polish and Swedish clubs might happen to miss the play offs then forget the above and I'm available in September
  7. Jack Miiler also did it in MotoGP . Its an Aussie thing. Surprised that Nigel or Kelvin didn't know that
  8. Pedersen, Iversen. guaranteed . If BSI continue with Slovenia then add Zagar. If the Russians don't want to play ball the how about Robert Lambert if he wins World u21. It would balance up BSI's quota system perfectly. Remember where you heard it first.
  9. Pearson told us the place would be packed for the playoffs 2 weeks ago
  10. Lets be honest your not going to get Phil Rising to criticise a GP venue until its been ditched
  11. Your commitment to the Elite League isn't that great either !
  12. Someone needs to defend Woffinden on here ! Wheres Dazzafl when you need him ?
  13. Great stuff again from the National Speedway Stadium . If only we had another 7 tracks in the Elite league like it. Thought the crowd would be bigger with this being the top 2 teams, even Pearson for once eluded to the fact it wasn't that full.
  14. USA would be great but no one is prepared to put the money up to pay for it. Ask the promoters in Finland if the GP there was worth it
  15. Parken's ship has sailed , too expensive and dwindling attendances. Can't see anybody willing to put the money up to take speedway to a non speedway country such as Netherlands or Ireland.
  16. Expect Doyle to be added to the Monster roster if he wins this year, Monster like to own the Championship
  17. Bit naive from Nicki there. about 90 % of the passes tonight after the first corner have been up the inside. Can't give the top riders a run up the inside
  18. He's the worlds best commentator according to some and he couldn't see that. Maybe he didn't see it because it was one of his favourites
