Not sure why 'speedway star' would write an article on Woffinden headlined " Marmite Man " if he had the support of 95 % of all British fans

2018 Grand Prix Venues
New Science replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
1994, the last ever one off World Final at vojens was a cracker As for Amsterdam, Countries with a proud recent speedway history such as Sweden,, Denmark and Australia are trying and mostly failing to make big stadium events pay. Non speedway countries have no chance without a benefactor as per ( New Zealand ) Lets be honest would you take the risk with your money ? -
It was only last week that Speedway Star ran an article on Tai Woffinden labelling him ' marmite man ' where he admitted he had lost some British fans I suppose we should ignore them as well
-
Can't see this being true, Tai Woffinden has only this weekend quoted the ' Danish kebab house story' in 2 major newspaper articles. To be seen eating in Mcdonalds would somewhat undermine his credibility .

2018 Grand Prix Venues

Think Warsaw and Cardiff are the only 2 long term stadium GP's . I expect this to be the last GP at Stockholm and the Aussie GP to eventually go the same way due to costs. After the Gelsenkirchen fiasco there won't be another stadium GP in Germany and in Italy the GP's were dropped because of poor crowds. -
A good job Deputy dog didn't turn up Howdy doo do Dudek The problem you have is that some Polish fans think iis ok to behave at Cardiff like they would behave at a league meeting at home in Poland. Drunkenness , spilling beer ,standing for the duration, large flags, constant air horns and flares if only they could get them in. Been to Warsaw GP a few times and that behaviour is not the norm or tolerated , although in League speedway in Poland it is . I,m not a fuddy duddy but would not appreciate buying a fifty quid ticket at Cardiff to find the guy in front of me is going to stand for 3 hours. We had a group of Poles infront of us about 5 years ago, they lasted 20 minutes before being dragged out by the stewards.

You can promise the World when your not in power Like that manifesto there's always the suspicion its not fully costed
-
He's spent most of those column inches slagging of British speedway, Not sure that's the sort of promotion were after
-
Think you've explained it pretty well, for a one off meeting, high profile event,in the right location Woffinden is prepared to forget all his issues with the BSPA, Alun Rossiter etc , but for other events, maybe more than 1 meeting, away from home for a bit, he is prepared to call on differences with the BSPA,Rossiter,British speedway that date back as far as 2015 as to why he can't participate Glad we got that sorted.

A few points about last night: Best wishes to Kyle for a speedy recovery, horrible crash. Well done to Poole for coming back and taking the win, Don't think Poole would have won if Howarth had not been injured. Wolves top 5 have been just about been managing through the loss of Riss in recent weeks, but last night was a bridge too far with 2 weak reserves forced to cover for Kyle's rides. Saw a rarity last night, the loss of Kyle and the Poole fightback seemed to galvanise the crowd, been a while since the atmosphere was that good, the racing also upped a notch as the scores got closer. Not a great crowd last night considering a fine midsummer's night with Poole in town. Also a word for the travelling Poole supporters, credit to you , long way to travel on a Monday night. -
Got to agree , I thought messrs Tatum and Louis were very good together. Shame Chris Louis is not part of the current coverage . Personally I'm not a fan of Pearson, yes he is knowledgeable , but his commentary style is a bit loud and over the top, usually when something minor happens, same with the darts. Its all about opinions. I think there are ways to say your not a fan without being personal.

" it all came to a head in a Danish kebab shop on the evening before the 2015 (SWC) race off. Its set up to fail and I don't want any part of it " Would this be the same rider that rode in the ( SWC ) Final in Manchester 12 months later.

Speedway World Cup 2017
New Science replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I dare say principles can be forgotten when its in the individual's own self interest, not rocket science either. Read the Sunday Times interview with Tai this week end, a lot of old news, I want to buy British Speedway blah blah blah. It seems Woffindens tipping point came when asked to eat in a Danish kebab house, so enraged was he that he turned out in the speedway world cup final in Manchester one year later. I also didn't realise ' retarded' was still part of the English language -
Speedway World Cup 2017
New Science replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It seems your main argument for regime change is to get Tai Woffinden back on board. Thats fine but The question is if Tai Woffinden is against the appointment of Rossiter as team boss and has numerous differences with the BSPA then Why was he so enthusiastic to represent Team GB in the World Games in Wroclaw knowing Rossiter would be in charge and apparently non of his differences with the BSPA resolved ? -
Speedway World Cup 2017
New Science replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Welcome back to the debate Phil Rising. it seems from the Star this week that Alun Rossiter's answer to this seasons 4th place finish is to arrange with Unia Leszno club a pre season training camp at their track , potentially organize a full test match against Poland and campaign to the BSPA about loosening the regulations that allow our best riders unable to compete in the European Championships and Pairs. As someone you say doesn't walk the walk what more can he do ? Rome was not built in a day. As someone who wants Rossiter out 3 days on you still haven't given us the name of your choice of successor ? -
Speedway World Cup 2017
New Science replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Who's the man for the job then Phil if you want Rosco out. Who is Woffinden friendly enough to get the job ? Time for you to walk the walk I saw the Aussies all together , team bonding, all eating and drinking healthy , unfortunately this was on Sunday after they had been eliminated, are you.suggesting Team GB's build up was not correct. What more could Team GB have done under Rosco,? Spotted All eating at the team hotel, all attending the race off, all in Team GB tracksuits , even the riders went into quote claiming all the guys were mates and the team spirit was excellent. What more could have been done ? Strange how Woffindens' reasons for not racing for Team GB according to you is linked to Rosco's appointment, but he is prepared to put that to one side to make himself available for the World Games on his home track in Poland, with err Rosco in charge ! -
Heathens Planning Application

Just a question, how can the trust submit a planning application when they are not the owners or promoters of the club ? -
Wolves V Rye House 10th July
New Science replied to Beowulf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Nothing wrong with the shape, brilliant speedway up until 2011, blame the F.I.M for bringing in the new silencers, That's what has killed Monmore -
Good to see BT sport eventually get a decent main camera position last night at Wolves instead of the back of the stand obstructed view we have had in the previous couple of weeks. BT chose last nights fixture well, Rye House are the best visitors to Monmore with Harris, Nicholls, Robson. Wells small track specialists. It was not as good as the A fixture but still probably one of the best meetings at Wolves this year

Speedway World Cup 2017
New Science replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Unfortunately with the current format of the World Cup we never really know where GB are in speedways pecking order. For the last 5 years the draw has been such that we have been either seeded to the final or had to beat 1 team only ( Australia ) to reach the Final and all on home soil every year. This year emphasised it even further than beating a patched up Aussie team on a one line gate and go track was not a passport to World success. The mutual backslapping on this forum after Kings Lynn was replaced rapidly by the doom and gloom after Leszno. What did we learn the Weekend, not much . For one we have no World class riders apart from Woffinden and secondly we do not have the machinery able to compete at this level, we made some good starts on Saturday only to be passed inside and out by quicker, better riders. I have said in an earlier post I would have much prefered us in the race off against similar standard opposition, I feel our young riders would have got more benefit. Whats the answer, well the World Cup doesn't look like changing , Poland and GB as the biggest markets will always get a home round or the Final, I do feel our riders would benefit from the SEC and the pairs, although to do this you would have to give up your doubling up with too many weekend fixtures missed. As for the World Cup please BSI seed the hosts to the race off in future. I was in Leszno the weekend and the crowd for the race off was poor, Also lets have a fairer balance between event 1 and 2 . Every year 1 round is far stronger than the other and on tracks worthy of the event. Thankfully Leszno provided a fitting venue with plenty of lines with good racing. Congratulations Poland, 4 World class riders all 25 and under -
Wolves V Rye House 10th July
New Science replied to Beowulf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I would argue with anyone that pre 2011 that Wolves track produced some of the best racing in the country. Enter the F.I.M and their new unnecessary new silencers in 2011 and unfortunately we now have a shadow of what we used to have. The circuit is still the best prepared in the country but because it is not flat out all the way round and throttle control is key we have a track with little outside passing with holding the kerb the key . #sad Last night was one of the better meetings at Monmore this year -
Ive happily stood on a grass bank to watch terrific speedway in the World Cup many years ago at Peterborough. Nobody minded You can have as good a stadium as you like , if the product is no good people wont come
-
If Woffinden has issues with the way Team GB is run why did he make himself available to ride in the World Games. Nothing to do with issues, just excuses when he wants to give certain events a miss dito British Final. One meeting in the World Games on my home track in Poland , Yes please i'm available World Cup 2017, a full weeks work, potentially 3 meetings, little chance of winning away from home, no thanks site problems with the BSPA British Final, been there done that , no use to me any more, site scheduling every year World Cup Manchester 2018, one meeting at the NSS, 2 hours from home, chance of glory expect him to be available. Maybe its me being cynical but there is definitely a pattern emerging. Crying shame Woffinden is not in Leszno this weekend going for a first overseas medal for GB in the World Cup

Speedway World Cup 2017
New Science replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
In cricket the ICC have admitted that they rig the draw for limited overs cricket tournaments , for commercial reasons England must meet Australia and India must play Pakistan. I,m not saying the F.I.M do this but for the last 5 years ( except 2016 final when the final was in Manchester either event 1 or 2 has been on a British track usually Kings Lynn and has featured GB, Australia and USA in the same round every time . coincidence ? The draw does seem to be weighted in GB's favour most years The difference in quality between the 2 events this time was noticeable again. Hopefully on Saturday Team GB give a good account of themselves , personally I wouldn't have minded seeing them in the race off, doing what we have struggled to do in the past, negotiate and dominate a race off away from home , against similar standard opposition .. GB have only come through the race off once away from home . Should we come a distance last I'm not sure what we will have learnt , yes we are ok at home, all of our SGP World Cup medals for that matter have come on home soil. We need to improve away from GB to become a force, lets hope for the best on Saturday
