  1. 7 pages on this topic and about 5 pages of rubbish. Dare I ask was this meeting any good ? Unfortunately when we have the triple lock of Brum , Gavan and Flange on the same thread, too busy calling each other names we get nothing worth reading about the actual topic.
  2. Some things Ive learnt Tai Woffinden,s record in the GP series makes him one of Britain's best World Champions Just because you are the best is no guarantee you are the most popular You can be born in Britain to British parents but when you belt out the Aussie national anthem but don't sing the British one you leave yourself open to people putting 2 and 2 together Don't think by riding in the World Championship you are doing your country a favour, Its an individual championship,Its only a reference to where you were born. Some riders have represented 2 different countries , It don't mean much To exclude yourself from riding in the World cup then declare yourself available for the World games on your home track in Poland says you are playing games with the BSPA and British fans, and your reasons for World Cup omission is probably no more than a convenient smokescreen. Britain expects more of its best rider than to simply ride in the GP. All the other riders in Europe ride in their National championship and in the World Cup. Its 5 meetings maximum in a year its not too much to ask
  3. Only saw the semis and final , look like I've missed the best bits
  4. Think this has been called off due to the forecast rather than anything else , I'm 4 miles away and its as dry as a bone here at 4.30
  5. Ride in the British Final Ride for Team GB in the World Cup Run the occasional training school in Britain as was proposed That will do for me.
  6. Better races at Daugvapils than Penhall / Knudsen or Penhall / Olsen , don't think so
  7. BT are only starting their League coverage with half the season gone. At least Sky started their coverage from the off
  8. Its amazing how 2 meetings that took place this week , the Latvian GP and Leicester vs Rye House generated 14 pages of discussion while a meeting that did not take place Wolves vs Poole generates 18 pages of topic. If there were play offs for agitators on this forum Wolves , Poole and Belle Vue would be in the top 4 every year.
  9. Its not Phil Morris's fault , never is !
  10. Tonights action a bit like watching speedway at Monmore Green these days. As long as you cover the inside line you are unlikely to get passed
  11. Not sure how Swindon got a point last night, the team has more holes than a cullender . The racing was not up to much last night either, the only excitement we got when when a home rider made a total hash of the first corner or a home rider came off 15. Track was a bit grippy as well with a fair bit of wobbling including Riss. I think with Wolves virtually having the points in the bag with 3 races left helped Swindon get a point. Can't say I'm a fan of the 3 points for any kind of win, the old system gives a far clearer league table and maintains the intensity in a meeting, feel some teams switch off when the points are won.
  12. Probably not when he looks at his trophy cabinet
  13. All Im doing is quoting Woffindens press releases . You have nothing to post except " We don't know the full story " every time you post.
  14. Just a couple of quotes From Twitter "Good luck to Team GB in the future ! A lot of you will not understand but true fans will, I aint being mugged off anymore " From Express and Star " But the respect WOFFINDEN has for the Wolves promotion is not mirrored with Great Britain ,a set up he labelled unprofessional in a lengthy and foul mouthed tweet. He's decided not to race in the World Cup this year and wont return to his national team until things change. Doesn't sound like the words of someone who is simply " taking a year out " does it Sorry Bwitcher for leaving you off the list as someone who believes every word that Woffinden says !
  15. Its interesting that Tai Woffinden quit Team GB's 2017 World Cup Team as early as July 2016 siting differences with the BSPA through a twitter rant. Now the World games is on the horizon, a national team event staged on Woffindens home track in Wroclaw Poland which he quite fancies riding in ,Cue his stance towards Team GB softens a little, not ruling out a return in 2018. He gives it away by saying " I didn't know about the World Games when I made my decision to sit out the World Cup this year. Woffinden is playing a clever game with the BSPA, let me ride in the World games with the false hope I will ride for you the World Cup again. I doubt he will ever ride in the World Cup again and the differences he has with the BSPA will conveniently resurface again. Woffinden says he was always planning to take THE world cup week off to spend a week with his pregnant wife, although he quit Team GB a full 12 months earlier 9 months before his wife was pregnant. Feel sorry for the guys on here who hang on, endorse, believe every word he says ( Gavan, Stevebrum, GiveusaB.etc ) he might be trying to hoodwink the BSPA but he had you at " hello "
  16. The new silencers brought in 2011 not only took away the noise of the engines but also killed the atmosphere on the terraces.
  17. It looks like Gavan is becoming a bit isolated on this forum as he is the only person who is not disappointed that Tai Woffinden does not represent Team GB in the World Cup
  18. " Am I disappointed he doesnt ride over here or for Team GB? Hell no. I want him to do whats right for him and his career. I want the Brit to be World Champion. Your Words Gavan Are you for real ? Tell me is there any other genuine British speedway supporter out there on this forum who is not disappointed that Britain's best rider Tai Woffinden does not ride for Team GB. in the World Cup ? You're in a World of your own mate ! Either that or you've been brainwashed
  19. Don't think anyone is forcing these girls to do it. Which I could watch every SGP for free from the centre green
  20. Something I else I noticed being at the Gp this weekend. I thought Tai Woffinden rode really well and with first pick in the semi final fully expected him to make the final. Not to be and after a rerun he comes in 3rd and is eliminated. He then proceeds to do not one but two laps of honour on the Warsaw track. The usual rule of thumb is that if you are a home rider and eliminated you do a lap of honour to thank your home fans, if you're not then get off the track and back to the pits.with the others. He may think its ' all about him ' but it isn't ! not the time or his place
  21. Just back from a good weekend in Warsaw. The postponement of the first GP in Warsaw was a disaster for fans and organisers alike but a massive wake up call for Ole Olsen and hais track building team. If anything good came out of that postponement we now have temporary tracks that are much improved , given more time to bed in and crucially tested before the official practice. The racing on Saturday was terrific with multiple lines, no ruts and crucially even gates. Well done to all concerned including the stellar cast of riders.Well done Fast Freddie who has a new lease of life aboard the Gerhard engine, keep it rolling.Who would have thought temporary track experts Holder and Hancock would miss the semis. The fanzone was harder to find than Lord Lucan, the pat down and bag search to get in unexpected and the queue at the beer tent impossible,I left after 3 minutes, about the same time I spent at the Cardiff fanzone last year. The atmosphere in the stadium is similar to Cardiff, its also similar than 99 % of the people in attendance don't live in the hosting city, only in speedway.Travelled on my own but as usual met some really nice people of all nationalities , its a massive plus of our sport
  22. Been having the Tai Woffinden debate with quite a few Brits at this weeks GP in Warsaw. Opinion like on this forum is pretty split. Some see him as the blue eyed boy of British speedway, some are annoyed by his actions and his treatment of British speedway and its fans. The lady I sat next to in Warsaw was a big fan and said " What have you got against him" I showed her the above post and she said " fair comment " Another guy at the airport said the same today. The problem is Tai Woffinden could have 99 % of British fans on his side by just taking the trouble to ride in the British Final and represent Team GB in the Speedway World Cup.I get it that some will never like him but that's their problem. Surely it would be better to have all the British fans pulling for you rather than splitting opinion,I don't think he cares but he should.
  23. The warsaw programme listed Freddie as riding a GM in his profile . oops
  24. Don't think marcell will be very happy. Freddie Lindgren was listed as GM as engine used in the Warsaw programme this weekend
