Lakeside v Workington frid 19th oct 8pm

Workington class this year, hope they win the lot -
You have done nothing but swipe at the club since he left. I just can’t work out how people think that a club that makes a profit, with a very healthy fanbase , is not worth a lot of money. Other people seem to think lesser clubs are worth money as many have changed hands over the past few years, so why wouldnt the, like it or not, biggest club in UK speedway over the past 20 years be any different?

Aw diddums , someone still upset their boy got the arse from Poole?

Not surprising really ... you considering a bid?

Is This The Worse Team Ever To Win The League?
Pinny replied to IainB's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I doubt any buyer would careless about the rest of the clubs in the UK, Poole Speedway with the crowds they get will be a profitable buisness. its like saying pubs are dying so I wont buy a pub thats busy all the time and has madr money annually for the last 20 years, because other pubs are dying and closing. speedway promoters do not lose as much money as they say, every year the likes of Dave Tatum at Stoke say hes lost a fortune yet still the next season Stoke are running under his promotion. It just doesnt wash with me. And the same with a number of clubs. Poole Speedway regulary attracts over a thousand paying customers a week , unless Ford asks for silly amounts of money then it would be an attractive buisness venture for someone. -

Because he has been there years and as he says, wants a new challenge. Many buisnesses that make a profit have been sold on. Are you seriously telling me that you think Poole Speedway runs at a loss? There will be a queue of people looking at taking it off Fords hands if it becomes available , same cant be said for many of the other clubs. -

Just going on what their fans say. It clearly is a profitable buisness therefore I would imagine quite a few people, whether thats current or former promoters or newbies, would be interested. -

I think its great, all the Poole bashing by the usual suspects all season long and they are now crowned league champs. Uk speedway is fcuked we all know that , and theres no coming back from it. If Ford had any sense he would bow out on a high . as for what has he actually got to sell apart from a few assets and tractors, the fact he has a buisness that attracts over 1500 paying customers a week will probably be another good selling point -
Kings Lynn v Poole Playoff Final 2nd leg 10/10/18
Pinny replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Poole are champs then! Whod of thought that months ago? -
Bullrubbish and you know it! just like 2005(?) when Poole refused to let Newport sign Craig Watson unless Newport bought his contract, remind me what happened there? if Jack Holder wants to ride at Somerset in 2019 there is absolutely nothing Poole can do

Lets be perfectly honest, Glasgow have plenty of history with on and off track violence over the years. Lindqvist/Beveridge at Newport in 1999 when Beveridge decided to boot Lindqvist in the shoulder when he was lying on the ground, with his steel shoe. Then theres the following year when Andre Compton who was guesting for Newport at the time had to have a police escort out the stadium, thats without numerous other occasions. The fans on the whole are great though. -
You may make some valid points but how is Howarth being poor bad luck? Riders riding poor is not bad luck . There is no guarantee Holder would of outscored Kurtz had they both completed their rides . R/R for Summers scored more than he has managed at Poole this season. Sadly both teams lost their second heatleaders , Somerset went into a big lead and a Harris inspired Poole clawed them back and done the buisness. End of.

Not watching the meeting I would like to know how Poole were lucky?? both sides lost their second heatleader through what seems a racing incident. Harris rode like a number one tonight but their main priority for next season must be a 9 point top number one. Everyone said Poole were reliant on their reserves , mainly Gavan in other posts that I have not got time to look back for. Yet they were massively outscored in that department lastnight. they were bottom of the league only a matter of months ago now they are in the play off final , and have every chance of winning it. Their not my favourite club, a lot of their fans are clowns but you have to give them credit for that performance lastnight. Lynn will need Iversen firing if they are to have any chance of beating Poole over two legs, hes one of my favourite riders but his form in general this season has been absolutely awful.
